Check my article[edit]

Good day,

The page User:Famous people from KBR/subpage has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appeared to consist of writings, information, discussions, and/or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free web hosting service. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time.

Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you think this page should not have been deleted for this reason, or you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, Famous people from KBR. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. GeneralNotability (talk) 16:55, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on User:Famous people from KBR/sandbox requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://astemirkarmov.ru/biography/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. --Finngall talk 17:30, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Your submission at Articles for creation: sandbox (August 18)[edit]

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed! Unfortunately, it has not been accepted because it included copyrighted content, which is not permitted on Wikipedia. You are welcome to write an article on the subject, but please do not use copyrighted work. Theroadislong (talk) 18:43, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Your username[edit]

Hello, Famous people from KBR,

I know you must be feeling a little overwhelmed right now, with the messages here on your talk page, and also with the conversation at the Tea house. And I'm sorry to potentially add to that burden, but based on your "we [are a] few editors" comment (here) at the Tea house, I have to ask you this question: How many people are using this username on Wikipedia? Or in other words, how many people know the password to this Wikipedia account, just one, or more than one?

Additionally, how did you choose your username? Do you consider yourselves to be a "group of famous people" from Kabardino-Balkaria Republic? This could potentially be a concern with respect to Wikipedia's username policy, regardless of account ownership. Thanks, Mathglot (talk) 22:11, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Good day, Mathglot
Thanks for your response. Only I have access to the account but there are a couple of people who help me to search for the information, articles, citations, etc.
No no, we are not famous people at all. I thought you can just choose any username here. I will be submitting an article about Astemir and if it goes well about others, that's why I decided to name page as Famous people from KBR.
But I'm a bit confused with all restrictions :-) Hope it explains everything. Please let me know if you can see that we got permission to use information from the website, so I'm not violating wiki rules as it says under review. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Famous people from KBR (talkcontribs) 22:58, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Famous people from KBR:, thank you for explaining that. I'm not an authority on usernames, but given your explanation, as I understand the policy, I think there is no problem with your username.
I don't know one way or another about the website issue, but the people at Tea house will help you with that. Just one other thing: there are some conventions ("usual procedures") when replying on Talk pages, by using indentation to set off your reply from the comment above it. I hope you don't mind, but I edited your last comment (@22:58), to indent it one tab stop, to set it off from my earlier comment @22:11. And you'll see that this comment you're reading now, is indented one more level. There's a bit more to it than that, depending on who you are responding to. Please have a look at WP:THREAD for an explanation of this. Thanks! Mathglot (talk) 23:41, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Mathglot Thank you,noted. Please advise me on my next step to finally submit the article. Must I message at Tea house again ? Thank you!
I'm not too knowledgeable about that topic, but for starters, I would say, yes—ask the folks at Tea house how to proceed next. Mathglot (talk) 03:43, 19 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Copied material[edit]

The warning that Theroadislong placed at the top of your draft says:

Wikipedia cannot accept material copied from elsewhere, unless it explicitly and verifiably has been released to the world under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license or into the public domain and is written in an acceptable tone

The draft contains a mass of material copied from elsewhere. Putting aside for a moment the question of its copyright status (copyleft, as it happens), it is not written in an acceptable tone. The source is self-promotional; the draft is promotional. Please remove the material that's copied from Karmov's website. Additionally, consider greatly reducing the number of photographs: those currently in the draft are not informative, and again look like mere PR material.

Until you make these deletions, there is very little chance that your draft will be accepted, and quite a high probability that it will be not just declined but rejected. -- Hoary (talk) 01:05, 19 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Shorter[edit]

I deleted a lot of content that has no place in a Wikipedia article, but still have doubts that he is notable in the Wikipedia sense of the word. David notMD (talk) 03:26, 19 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Photos and COI[edit]

Are you claiming that you took all of the photos, including the one in Kenya? This and other content suggests you know the subject of the draft personally, and as such, should declare a conflict of interest WP:COI on your User page. Or else declare here, on your Talk page, that you have no personal connection. You were asked to address this by GeneralNotability. David notMD (talk) 11:33, 19 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Question: If this text have been placed on the website: "The text and photos of this website is available for modification and reuse under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-Sharealike 3.0 Unported License and the GNU Free Documentation License." It should allow me to use photos and text in Wikipedia as per rules, am I correct?
Beyond my expertise. Pose the question at Teahouse. David notMD (talk) 16:27, 19 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sections have no references[edit]

Sections of your draft (Education, Charity) have no references. Other sections need more references. David notMD (talk) 11:38, 19 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much for your help. Charity and education is something that you can hardly find on the internet. Will youtube work for a charity? There are mentions of the education in provided articles and some interviews but they are in Russian. Like this one [1]
Russian language refs allowed for English language articles. Youtube generally not accepted as a reliable source because it is user generated. Exception would be if a reliable institution produces Youtube content. David notMD (talk) 16:26, 19 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Draft:Astemir Karmov, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Hi Jeff G. ツ . If you made such a statement, please justify it. What do you mean by page is promoting person? I found your attitude biased. Do you think page of Bill Gates also promotional? Because someone wrote about his achievements, biography etc.? Or only guys like him deserved to be on the wiki? I thought the goal of Wikipedia is a bit different. Or maybe it's your personal attitude to the representative of another country? This page is edited by a few guys. Photos and quite a lot of information have been deleted and only then submitted. I don't understand what is your problem? What spam are you talking about?
