License tagging for File:Nissan NV.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Nissan NV.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 11:07, 4 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright problems with File:11d odge durango.jpg[edit]

Hello. Concerning your contribution, File:11d odge durango.jpg, please note that Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text or images obtained from other web sites or printed material, without the permission of the author(s). This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.dealerrater.com/classifieds/2011-Dodge-Durango-ad-1D4RE5GG9BC614221/. As a copyright violation, File:11d odge durango.jpg appears to qualify for deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. File:11d odge durango.jpg has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.

If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the Creative Commons Attribution/Share-Alike License (CC-BY-SA) then you should do one of the following:

However, for textual content, you may simply consider rewriting the content in your own words. While contributions are appreciated, Wikipedia must require all contributors to understand and comply with its copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright concerns very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Thank you.

Please also note that this is not a legitimate fair-use promotional image because it is a dealer photograph, not a manufacturer promotional image released for that purpose. And even then, it would not have passed because a free 2011 Durango image already existed and was placed in the article. --Sable232 (talk) 20:28, 1 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Since the copyright is still (most likely) owned by your employer, they would have to release it under the correct license and have the release on file with Wikimedia. See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
There is no mandate that the lead image on the page be of the most recent model, in fact, age is supposed to have no bearing on it at all (see here). The fact that it is that way on the Explorer page doesn't affect what goes on anywhere else. --Sable232 (talk) 23:23, 1 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

February 2011[edit]

Please do not attack other editors, as you did at Talk:GMC Terrain. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. --Sable232 (talk) 22:54, 1 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:11d odge durango.jpg[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:11d odge durango.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you.
