Suzuka

Nice start on the list of Suzuka chapters. Don't worry about the speedy deletion it is unfounded and I will handle it. I do suggest that you take a look at WP:Anime page and maybe look what others manga have done with it's chapter list. Well keep up the good work. (Duane543 02:36, 11 April 2007 (UTC))

Thanks. It WAS discouraging, that speedy deletion notice went up MINUTES after I posted the initial test page. I've finished the initial chapter listings, but since it's meant for the Anime and Manga Wikiproject, I've posted the finished page to the appropriate Suzuka site. Also, I've started reformatting the page per your example. thanks again --fizzman 23:00, 12 April 2007 (UTC)

manga

anything you want, you can decide! the Suzuka page is a public page, and i do not run it, so you can decide! i think that both should be on it, but wether or not you put them next to each other or in a completely different section, it works

good job on the manga page! Leefan 02:37, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

Question

Hey Fizzman, I have a question about Japanese translation of a two family names. Both names were translated to English as Rikudou, but they use different kanji (The first is リク and the second is 六道). It this a mistake or is an example of the same name with different kanji. Thanks (Duane543 20:12, 1 May 2007 (UTC))

Written Japanese uses 3 alphabets - Hiragana, katakana, and kanji. The first two are symbols representing phonetic consonants and kanji are symbols derived from chinese characters. Because any kanji character can have literally DOZENS of pronunciations, Japanese names written in kanji is VERY difficult to read (even for native Japanese); to get around this problem, many uncommon pronounciations of names will often be accompanied by their hiragana or katakana equivalents.

リクドウ is the katakana equivalent of the kanji form of 六道. Incidentally, the kanji symbols are actually Rokudou, but since it's used in a name, I'm guessing it's pronounced Rikudou. Japanese names written in kanji are next to impossible to figure out sometimes! Hope I helped... --fizzman 21:44, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
P。S. Oh yeah, 六道 means "6 paths", or "6 roads". This was fun, thanks.

Hi, Dad

Hi, Dad. I see you've gotten bit by the Wikipedia bug, too. EvilCouch 00:52, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

おす、 元気か?
いやー、びっくり したはー。 お前 本当に 日本語 読めるのか?
Dad (--fizzman 00:52, 19 May 2007 (UTC))

No, not really. I hadn't actually looked up the kanji for the infobox until you mentioned it. ぼく は 日本語すこしを話します, でも じょうず じゃありません. I'm going to swap out the infobox for the ja-1 version. EvilCouch 06:23, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Kōen-mae Hashutsujo

Hey fizzman,
If you are ever get the chance, the Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Kōen-mae Hashutsujo article needs to be cleaned up since it looks most of it was taken for the Japanese Wiki page (Here ja:こちら葛飾区亀有公園前派出所). I clean up what I could, but some of the character paragraphs are badly mixed up. Thanks (Duane543 04:30, 14 May 2007 (UTC))

A Question

Would you be interested helping getting Suzuka listed as a Good Article? (Duane543 03:00, 26 June 2007 (UTC))

Oh hell YES!! Let me know what I can do. --fizzman 23:07, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
Since it will take some time, we can the do the up grades in my sandbox. This will give us the freedom to see how the changes look on wiki without affecting the real article. Once the major work is done we can move over either in one big move or section at a time. I have started some things, but mostly every section is still incomplete. I have been getting ideas off of the Bleach (manga) and Death Note articles which have gotten GA rating. I created some links to some of the guidelines and started a to do list in the talk page of the sandbox. If you want make major changes to the layout don't hesitate just make sure to leave messages in the edit summary or talk page so others know what you are thinking. Look forward working with you. (Duane543 00:55, 29 June 2007 (UTC))
Since it would be a pain to talk through the user talk pages, it would be better if you put sandbox and its talk page in your watch list (if you have not already). This way we can keep track of the changes or messages. (Duane543 21:25, 29 June 2007 (UTC))
Wrote to keep you informed that the major editing is done and I moved it over to the article. I also put article for peer review. (Duane543 00:37, 28 July 2007 (UTC))
Do you think that Mr. Asahina should be add to the list of characters? I think he does, but this may cause others to add the other parents that play very minor roles in the manga. What do you think? (Duane543 03:38, 2 September 2007 (UTC))
Well, parents will not be able to play a bigger role since manga is ending Sept. 21. (Duane543 03:39, 6 September 2007 (UTC))
