Welcome![edit]

Hello, FlaminMongrel, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Physiotherapy in India, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's content policies and may not be retained. In short, the topic of an article must be notable and have already been the subject of publication by reliable and independent sources.

Please review Your first article for an overview of the article creation process. The Article Wizard is available to help you create an article, where it will be reviewed and considered for publication. For information on how to request a new article that can be created by someone else, see Requested articles. If you are stuck, come to the Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can help you through the processes.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Physiotherapy in India requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://main.mohfw.gov.in/sites/default/files/PHYSIOTHERAPY%20HANDBOOK%202023-2.pdf. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Concerns about possible plagiarism and copyright infringement[edit]

I have concerns about possible plagiarism and copyright infringement (read those links) in your work here but am not certain. Regardless of copyright status, all content copied directly from a source must be enclosed in quote marks and attributed to the author/source with an inline citation. Failure to do that is plagiarism. These offenses can get you blocked. Relatively short quotes are allowed under fair use laws. (Note that "short" is a very flexible term, depending on the matter. It can include quoting very large amounts of material, even whole documents, in some cases, but we generally discourage doing that here. We use Wikisource for that.) Regardless of the case, remember to always use quote marks when relevant.

Diannaa is an expert on this, so I am pinging her. She can provide better advice than I can. -- Valjean (talk) (PING me) 18:14, 10 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Minor edits[edit]

I see you mark all your edits as "minor edits", but that is not true. Many of your edits are far from "minor". See Help:Minor edit. There is really no absolute necessity for ever marking an edit as minor, so I suggest you change your "preferences" to not automatically categorize your edits as minor, if that is the reason they are marked as they are. If you really wish to do it, then reserve if for the most minor and uncontroversial of edits, or just never do it. -- Valjean (talk) (PING me) 18:25, 10 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

That is interesting because on my screen I made sure to untick 'minor edits' in all edits I made recently, there is only one edit I remember marking as minor and I would definitely consider that minor since I merely corrected the translation of one hindi word into English, the original translation by the way was most likely never verified so it's surprising that it wiki even allowed the wrong translation on an article. FlaminMongrel (talk) 13:13, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Only your last few edits are not marked "minor". Check your preferences and make sure that it is also deactivated there. Otherwise, it will happen automatically. You shouldn't have to untick anything. -- Valjean (talk) (PING me) 17:05, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This page should not be speedy deleted as an unambiguous copyright infringement, because... (your reason here)

How can the quoted URL PDF be copyrighted? it is released to the public by the government and can redistributed for non monetary purposes like all other public government documents. -- FlaminMongrel (talk) 17:04, 10 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. We do not create articles here by using large amounts of copyrighted content. We primarily use secondary sources and to some degree (but very carefully and limited) primary sources. Don't create articles until you have learned a bit more about how Wikipedia works. I recall that my first two articles were immediately deleted. That's how it works here. -- Valjean (talk) (PING me) 17:22, 10 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@FlaminMongrel Are you able to point to anything to show that this PDF is not copyrighted? I can't see anything to indicate the source is in the public domain or licensed compatibly with Wikipedia. It's generally not ideal to create a new article by copy and pasting from another source. Wikipedia should summarise content from sources rather than copying them verbatim. Speedy deletion nomination of Physical Therapy in India[edit]

Hello, FlaminMongrel,

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username 49ersBelongInSanFrancisco, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I have tagged an article that you started, Physical Therapy in India, for deletion, because it is a very short article that doesn't provide readers with enough context to determine who or what the subject is.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the deleting administrator.

For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|49ersBelongInSanFrancisco}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Your new draft space[edit]

The article must have significant content based largely on secondary, independent (of Physiotherapy in India) sources. You may not have experience enough to create articles yet. To do it, start in your own private userspace. I'll create one for you where you can work. User:FlaminMongrel/Physiotherapy in India. That is not an article and should stay there until fully ready. -- Valjean (talk) (PING me) 05:50, 30 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
