Your submission at Articles for creation: History of linguistics (women) (June 18)[edit]

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reasons left by Bonadea were:

This submission does not appear to be written in the formal tone expected of an encyclopedia article. Entries should be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources. Please rewrite your submission in a more encyclopedic format. Please make sure to avoid peacock terms that promote the subject.

The scope of this list is unclear. An individual who is fluent in several languages is not by default a linguist, and neither is an individual who has a rhetorical gift. The intro paragraph seems to argue that the term "linguistics" should be interpreted in a different way when describing contributions by women; this is a point of view that could potentially be incorporated (with a clear attribution to the source and not as a fact presented in Wikipedia's voice) into History of linguistics.

Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

Hi Fleur Dierickx, and welcome to Wikipedia! I'm Bonadea, the reviewer who just declined your draft. While the draft as written has some issues that preclude it from being moved to article space right away, I think there could certainly be an article about how women have contributed to linguistics through history, and I'd love to discuss that with you if you are interested!
