If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Otaliana requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, a group of people, an individual animal, an organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content, or an organized event that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. - Sumanuil (talk) 04:52, 21 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ways to improve Man of the Fields

[edit]

Hello, FrannyOfficially,

Thank you for creating Man of the Fields.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

This article as it stands is a retelling of the narrative - the plot. You need to say why this book is notable, and add additional sections to the article about this book, its reception, criticism and evaluation in fantasy genre.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Whiteguru}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

Notice

The article Man of the Fields has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non notable book by non notable author. Fails WP:GNG and WP:NBOOK

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, FrannyOfficially. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Henry F. Wilde, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. – Joe (talk) 14:31, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Henry F. Wilde has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. – Joe (talk) 14:34, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I understand that you don't want Man of the Fields and Henry F. Wilde deleted, but the only way to achieve that is to find reliable, independent sources that give significant coverage of the book and of the writer. See WP:NBOOK and WP:NAUTHOR for details on establishing notability. Without that significant coverage, the two won't meet the notability requirements to have Wikipedia articles. • There were major concerns brought up at the deletion discussions that you are here to promote the author and the book. It was also pointed out that you deliberately made a small amount of edits just so you could immediately create articles on these two topics. Wikipedia is not a place to promote one's self. It's possible that you could be unblocked, but one requirement would be that you could not create any new content about the author or his work. You would also need to show that you understand the reason for the block, as well as give an example of how you would edit Wikipedia in a beneficial manner.
