The article War of Ideas has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The term "War of Ideas" is simply a common English usage and not a term worthy of Wikipedia notability guidelines. I propose this article may be deleted, unless you can prove notability.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ▒ ♪ ♫ Wifione ♫ ♪ ▒ ―Œ ♣Łeave Ξ мessage♣ 08:44, 17 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi :)

[edit]

Hi Friedrich. Thanks for your message on my talk page. If I may, do kindly go through the following links that Wikipedia has:

  • WP:Notability: Describes the minimum criteria any article must meet for it to not get deleted.
  • WP:Reliable sources: Describes the kind of reliable sources that you can include within the article to ensure that any editor (like me) believes that the article qualifies in the above mentioned notability criteria.
  • WP:Verifiability: Gives an idea of how what is more important to Wikipedia is not the truth (seriously) but whether the topic/article in question has reliable sources vouching for the statements made within the article.
  • WP:Original research: Provides a quick understanding of why an original concept (which might not have been truly referred to by reliable sources) will be considered original research.

For example, if you create a page called "War of Ideas" that talks about a board game called War of Ideas (yes, there is a board game) or a novel called War of Ideas, they might have a better chance of staying on Wikipedia (as they might have many more reliable sources than the concept of "War of Ideas"). I honestly think that for "War of Ideas" to be included in wikipedia the way you wish it to be, you will have to give reliable sources that prove that now, "War of Ideas" is a terminology that is being used specifically to represent a concept (like "War on terror"). Please write to me if you wish to get help on including reliable sources. Please remember, even if the article gets deleted, you can still request it to be undeleted by us. Warm regards. ♪ ♫ Wifione ♫ ♪ ―Œ ♣Łeave Ξ мessage♣ 18:56, 15 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Friedrich Dusseldorf. You have new messages at WP:REFUND.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

A tag has been placed on War of Ideas requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Your contributed article, War of Ideas

[edit]

Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, War of Ideas. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as yourself. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Propaganda. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will to continue helping improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Propaganda - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Claritas (talk) 17:20, 28 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading File:War of Ideas 1 jpg-.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Theleftorium 14:41, 29 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks not necessary

[edit]

Friedrich. Your thanks for saving War of Ideas is not necessary. You created a decent article and the community concensus was that it should stay. As an Admin, I merely assessed that consensus and closed the debate. The fact that this was your first article and it survived an AfD should encourage you and provides you an opportunity to expand your experience on WP. You have several tasks in front of you. 1)You need to work with other editors to improve the article with better prose, sourcing, organization, formating or whatever is needed to make it a better article. 2) Find other articles and subjects you are passionate about and make contributions that improve the encyclopedia. Join and contribute to projects related to those subjects. 3) Review and study policies, guidelines and essays about how WP works and how to improve your contributions. Ask questions when you don't know how to do something or need advice on particular approachs to some issue. In other words, become a better editor and contributor. WP is not a competition, it is an encyclopedia. Enjoy the participation. If you ever have any questions or I can help you in any way, don't hesitate to ask me on my talk page.
