Welcome to Wikipedia. Please be aware of Wikipedia's policy that biographical information about living persons must not include unsupported or inaccurate statements. Whenever you add possibly controversial statements about a living person to an article or any other Wikipedia page, you must include proper sources. If you don't know how to cite a source, you may want to read Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners for guidelines. Thank you. Materialscientist (talk) 09:17, 19 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

May 2012

[edit]

Please do not add or change content without verifying it by citing reliable sources, as you did to Antony Price. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. The addition you made removed all the categories and templates on the page, which is considered unconstructive. Sarahj2107 (talk) 12:07, 14 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Antony Price

[edit]

Ok, first of all I would appreciate if you would communicate with me via my talk page (talk), rather than email me. Second, you do not own the article (see Wikipedia:Ownership_of_articles) I can make whatever changes to it that I feel need to be made. Thirdly you should not be editing articles where you have a close connection to the subject (see WP:COI). Finally as I explained above and in my edit summary, your edit replaced all the content on the page with a entirely unreferenced and unformated text. It also removed all the categories and maintenance tags. This is considered unconstructive. The tags should not be removed until the problems have been solved. If you what to make substantial changes to the article you should probable discuss it in the article talk page first. Sarahj2107 (talk) 15:00, 14 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not assume ownership of articles. If you aren't willing to allow your contributions to be edited extensively or be redistributed by others, please do not submit them. Thank you. Stop emailing me, if you want to communicate use my talk page. Sarahj2107 (talk) 15:16, 14 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did to Antony Price with this edit, you may be blocked from editing. Pharaoh of the Wizards (talk) 15:17, 14 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This is your last warning. The next time you disrupt Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Sarahj2107 (talk) 15:59, 14 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked temporarily from editing for persistent disruptive editing. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

Dear OrangeMike, I logged in this morning and I was unblocked. I felt as a courtesy I should apologise to all those admininstators concerned. Which I did. The problem was that I was not well read on editing/submitting Wikipeida. I will keep within the rules which I have read about now. the problem is that I'm using a work computer and my company (not antony price fashion) have asked me to do a wikipeida project soon. I'm a bit nervous if i'm blocked that I won't be able to do this. This will effect my job. So I sincerely apologise and again I reitierate that I won't do it again and I did try to make ammends earlier. I was not abusive to administrators either. I just felt a bit bullied. But it was my mistake because I should of been more read up. Kind Regards, Gavin gaslett

Decline reason:

If you are required to add content to Wikipedia for your job, then you won't be unblocked because you clearly have a conflict of interest, and will therefore be inherently biased. We want editors who are here for the aim of improving the project, not because they have their own agenda, which judging by your edit already, does not fit with our own policies about neutrality Jac16888 Talk 10:08, 17 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for unblocking me. Apologies to all.

You were not unblocked, your block expired because it was set at 31 hours. Any repeat of your previous behaviour will result in an immediate, and this time indefinite, block. I suggest you read our policies and guidelines closely before you go any further--Jac16888 Talk 20:56, 17 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, Gaslett. You have new messages at Sarahj2107's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

Hey, Jac16888, I have been reading through the guidelines more and I don't appreciate your judgement. I'm new on Wikipedia and I made a mistake that I owned upto. I suggest you read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Please_do_not_bite_the_newcomers - Don't wade into other people's disputes is a general rule in life if not Wikipedia. Behaviour? Yours leads alot to be desired i.e. going around condemning others. Go and aim that at yourself.

When you come onto wikipedia and start spamming it is my business, and since you are apparently still adding promotional content which I just removed from User:Gaslett/sandbox, it's clear you haven't learned from your mistake at all, nor have you read our policies yet. If you continue as you are, your ability to edit Wikipedia will be removed--Jac16888 Talk 14:36, 25 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

My sandox is for my own edits and it is not an article as I understand it. To make an asumption and an accusation like that is OUT OF ORDER. So again read : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Please_do_not_bite_the_newcomers . I'm so fed up with your comments I'm reporting you to Wikipedia for bullying.

It doesn't matter whether its your sandbox or not, promotional content is not allowed. Anywhere. Well I'm fed up with spammers thinking they can just come here and promote things without consequences, it's not bullying I'm trying to make you understand your current behaviour of adding promotional content will not be tolerated, because if it continues you will be blocked --Jac16888 Talk 19:51, 25 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You are involved in a recently filed request for arbitration. Please review the request at Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests#AntonyPrice and, if you wish to do so, enter your statement and any other material you wish to submit to the Arbitration Committee. Additionally, the following resources may be of use—

Thanks, I've gone to arbitration because I find your manner offensive and very rude. Like I stated. I do not appreciate your tone and false allegations. I have reported this to Wikipedia because you should not be using your administrator rights peversly. Again I direct you to: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Please_do_not_bite_the_newcomers This matter is now with Wikipedia and I do not want any further dealings with you. Yours sincerely, gaslett

Request for arbitration

[edit]

Hello Gaslett. I noticed you attempted to open a request for arbitration, but mistakenly put the request on the page Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests instead of Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case as per the instructions for filing a case. I have moved your request to the correct page. —Psychonaut (talk) 11:10, 26 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

arbitration request

[edit]

Hello again, I have just read your request for arbitration and I wanted to let you know that I am not happy you are dragging me into this recent argument by again accusing me of aggressive behaviour and bullying. Those are serious accusations, and as I told you at the time I was just warning you that your editing was seen as disruptive and pointing you towards the right guidelines. Please do not accuse me of being aggressive or bullying you again unless you plan to take that particular matter to the administrators as well. Sarahj2107 (talk) 12:54, 26 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I was only stating the truth of what you wrote sarah - so you shouldn't go around accusing others of harrassing people if you don't like it. I have the email chain and the messages you left on your talk page to show arbitration - is that ok. I hope you don't mind. Thanks. You can look at this if you want : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Please_do_not_bite_the_newcomers - thanks again.

You do not have my permission to post my private emails anywhere on wikipedia. Although I am confident they do not contain anything that would show I was being aggressive towards you, I think this whole matter is not going anywhere and you should drop it. Arbitration have already declined to hear your case so you cant show it to them anyway unless you request a new case. However I strongly suggest you don't as there are other places to take it first. If you still feel you have to make a complaint I suggest you go to Dispute resolution or Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents. If you really feel my emails were aggressive you may forward them privately to an administator invovled in any dispute resolution case you may open in the future, any only then. Do not post them publicly where anyone can see them. You should also take note of SilkTork's advice below. Thank you. Sarahj2107 (talk) 14:07, 2 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Advice

[edit]

Wikipedia can be a confusing place for newcomers; however, Wikipedians love to help newcomers. There are always people ready to help out, all you need to do is read the advice that you are given. If you look at the top of this page you'll see that Materialscientist, an experienced Wikipedian, left you some advice and a list of links, and a means of getting assistance by typing {{Help me}} on your talkpage. Generally I have found that people who move slowly at first, take care to read the guidelines, ask for advice, are civil and polite with others, and who do not edit war (reinsert edits that have been removed) are the ones who have a positive experience. Wikipedians tend to respond positively to positive people. Your experience here will be what you make it. Having said that, there is much as a community we can do to improve the experience of new users. I can see that the welcome notice you were given, contained perhaps too many links, and too much information, so you might have been disinclined to read it. I can also see that though you received warnings, that you may not have fully understood those warnings as they didn't provide enough information. Sometimes it is difficult for us to find the right balance.

What I suggest you do now is to make suggestions on the talkpage of Antony Price (Talk:Antony Price) of how you feel the article should be developed. If nobody responds within a reasonable space of time, ask someone at Wikipedia:Editor assistance for help. If you can find nobody to help you, then get in touch with me on my talkpage and I'll see what else I can do to help you. Regards SilkTork ✔Tea time 10:25, 28 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Are you also editing as User:Clone tone?

[edit]

You recently complained to ArbCom about the article Antony Price [1], saying that other editors were aggresively editing the article, which you felt had been innccurate, but which you had turned into an accurate article. Since then, other editors, including myself, have edited the article into much better shape, add citations and verifying what had been unsourced information. Today, a breand new editor, User:Clone tone essentially restored the article back to your version of it, including peacock terms and POV writing. The obvious conclusion to draw is that you are Clone tone, and that you are editing under another name in order that other editors will not know it is you.

If that is the case, please be aware that you are in violation of Wikipedia's policy on "sockpuppetry", that is, on using multiple accounts to avoid scrutiny. This is not allowed, you must edit under one account name only. If Clone tone is you, please choose one of the two accounts to edit with, shut down the other one, and add a link to the two talk pages showing that they are the same person. Please do not open additional accounts, as your edits are easiy identifiable, and you will be discovered.

If you are not Clone tone, then I apologize for the comment. Thanks, Beyond My Ken (talk) 15:38, 2 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have filed a sockpuppetr investigation report, asking that adminstrators look into this situation. You will find that report here, and you can respond in the section marked "Comments by other users". In the meantime, please do not edit the Antony Price article, as your edits will be reverted. Beyond My Ken (talk) 16:19, 2 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

Some time ago you made some changes to the Antony Price article, which were removed for various reasons which have already been explained to you. If you are the copyright holder, please read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for more information on uploading your material to Wikipedia.
