A nice start, though it reads like a copyright violation (ie you've lifted the text from somewhere). Please try to make the notability of the subject clearer in the opening paragraph, per our policy of WP:LEAD. Please also take note of the tags I've placed on the article. Cheers, --Dweller 15:19, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Þuríðr Sundafyllir[edit]

Hello Gavin Chappell,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Þuríðr Sundafyllir for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks, Awardgive, the editor with the msitaken name. 22:27, 3 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I declined the request for speedy deletion of this article, because I believe the subject is notable. I'm sorry you were frustrated with the reaction you received. However, please understand that we assume that everyone here is acting in good faith (unless shown otherwise) - comment on the content and not on other editors. If you need help, please feel free to contact me on my talk page.--Kubigula (talk) 23:27, 3 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Fortunatus Wright requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://www.historyofwallasey.co.uk/wallasey/Fortunatus_Wright/index.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. –dlthewave 21:08, 4 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

How about you do your research, Dlthewave? I submitted that article to Wikipedia years before I gave it to the History of Wallasey website. I wrote it in 2006 and it was first published in a magazine called Wirral Champion. I have not violated my own copyright. You seem to be accusing me of a criminal act. That sounds a lot like libel to me. And you're hiding behind your computer, you pathetic coward. Too afraid to make your wrongful accusations to my face. Spineless, pathetic coward. Do your research in future.
