Edit comment

[edit]

I'd say the comment was not nice. Not outright rude as such, but... anyway, here's the translation:

Sorry, honey, but this is out of the place. What's more, your remarks are neither relevant nor gentle. And they're at the most important arguments - bad, bad... Gay.

Cheers, //Halibutt 13:12, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Czesc sloneczko - the quality of tłumaczenia by Halibutt jest denna i śmieszna. Powiem więcej: to tłumaczenie jest do dupy.. Sorry, for the expression ale mi pensas ke vi devas lerni ĝin (as it is very common i może ci się spodoba. Wtręt is not a 'remark'. :D Cieszę się, że vi partoprenis la aferon de la belega zdjęcie.. Dodam na koniec: warto uczyć się języków obcych - English is such a funny language - it is not piękny; it is simple and that's why it is so common. :D You may treat it as atak osobisty. You're welcome! :D Bye! --Aldante 14:44, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Here you go with the (rough, as always) translation. This time the guy used Polish, English and poorly-written Esperanto, but I think I get the general meaning.
Hi, dear - the quality of Halibutt's translation is pathetic and phony. What's more, this translation sucks. Sorry, for the expression but I believe that you should know that (as it is very common and you might like it). Wtręt is not a 'remark'. :D I'm happy that you take part in the case of the great photo. Finally, one should learn foreign languages. English is such a funny language - it's not beautiful; it is simple and that's why it is so common. You may treat it as a personal attack.
The edit summary goes like this: I beg all Polish speakers pardon for the mistake - ciao bambino.
In all, I'm sorry for the guy and it seems he is a typical troll. A common practice is not to feed them - and I suggest you did just that. Really, it seems that trying to understand someone who doesn't want that is a waste of time - both yours and mine. //Halibutt 16:15, 21 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Copying image to Commons

[edit]

Hi. I noticed an image Image:Cape.teal.750pix.jpg that you had tagged for being moved to Commons. You can actually make that move yourself if you have a Commons account - it doesn't actually have to be transwikied. See [1] for the tool to use. Optionally, if you use Firefox, you can add importScript('User:Krimpet/CH2.js'); to your monobook.js to get a button that will show up on the image edit page that will automatically tag the Wikipedia image for deletion. --BigDT (416) 16:16, 21 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Carhenge photos

[edit]

Hi Gay Cdn. I noticed that you tagged two photographs I've taken for transfer to the WikiCommons (this one and this one). As it happens, both of these files are outdated and newer versions exist (here and here) that are both higher resolution and have EXIF information included (they are also the images referred to over at the Carhenge article itself). Anyway, I don't know how to properly stop the migration of the former images or transfer the latter ones instead. Hence me dropping by your talk page. If you could advise, that'd be great. Cheers! --Plumbago 12:01, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

And it has been a lot longer (say, a couple of months) that it has been in an article. If you delete it and we need it again later (highly unlikely) I can upload it again (let me know if that is ok). In the mean time, the servers could use the free space. Sincerely, Sir intellegent - smartr tahn eaver!!!! 21:52, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey ... you had tagged Image:Photo-0050 001.jpg as redundant to Image:Photo-0050.jpg. Image:Photo-0050.jpg was deleted a while back and believe me, it wasn't a fish. Is there a different image it is a duplicate of? Thanks. --BigDT 02:26, 5 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well what the heck ... never mind ... I figured it out. The tag said Image:0050.jpg. That's a different image. Never mind. --BigDT 02:27, 5 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there

I have noticed you have nominated a lot of images to WP:IFD from user pages. A debate on whether personal images should be allowed on user pages within WP:USER guidelines that you may be interested to add your opinion on is here: [2]. --tgheretford (talk) 13:29, 5 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I got your robonote about the above image. I nominated it and its 20 siblings for SD given the latest reinterpretation of WP fair use policy. I am the main editor of the related articles. I don't see a reason to wait 7 days given the snowball's chance they will ever be used again. All the images I nominated were ones I uploaded. — Meersan 03:37, 6 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi

I hadn't noticed that this image was now orphaned. I checked out the article I posted it in. The section it was a part of has been completelely removed as a result of an edit war and it doesn't look like that section is going to be restored. Without that section there's no reason this image should remain.
