Things

[edit]

Two things:

  1. Your signature should wikilink back to either your talk page or your userpage, so people can find you. It probably shouldn't be just text.
  2. About SheepBot: you should be able to run it for a 50-edit trial just by estimating; it doesn't have to be exact, and you can go a little bit over or a little bit below. The BAG just needs to see that the bot is working correctly when handling a moderate volume of pages.

[edit]

I appreciate the polite manner in which you are conducting your request for approval for your bot, in addition that you are attempting to address community concerns. I'll trust you to do the necessary follow-ups and ignore this particular bot request for the future. Thanks for working as if you are part of a community-it makes it easier to build one. --69.225.5.4 (talk) 04:12, 12 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You're invited!

[edit]

In the afternoon, we will hold a session dedicated to meta:Wikimedia New York City activities, review the recent Wikipedia Takes Manhattan, plan for the next stages of projects like Wikipedia at the Library and Wikipedia Loves Landmarks, and hold salon-style group discussions on Wikipedia and the other Wikimedia projects, for example particular problems posed by Wikipedia articles about racist and anti-semitic people and movements (see the September meeting's minutes).

In the evening, we'll share dinner and chat at a local restaurant, and generally enjoy ourselves and kick back.

You can add or remove your name from the New York City Meetups invite list at Wikipedia:Meetup/NYC/Invite list.

To keep up-to-date on local events, you can also join our mailing list.

Bot mistake?

[edit]

I'm a little confused why your bot marked McLaren F1 GTR as a dead end article. The359 (Talk) 10:06, 18 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm confused too. Thankyou for pointing this out, it is probably the case the dead end list my bot is using may be lagging, or out of date. Whatever the case may be, I'll be sure to look at the problem at my next convenience. Babylonian Armor (talk) 10:42, 18 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Same goes with Byzantine architecture. Sheepbot marked it as dead end though it contains 213 wikiLinks according to TW. --Fama Clamosa (talk) 08:17, 19 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

it has done the same to high middle ages, which is filled with links, so i will remove it now. Smitty1337 (talk) 21:04, 21 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Adoption

[edit]

Greetings Gene-va/Archive B, I see you're up for adoption, and I'm in the market. If ever you need advice or answers, just ask me -- any question, any time. I'd like to help however I can. Happy editing - Draeco (talk) 12:19, 18 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Tagging of blank pages

[edit]

With regards to this recent edit by SheepBot, I would suggest that adding a {{Dead end}} template to an article that has been blanked is not the best possible way to handle the article's history. Perhaps reverting to a non-problematic version of the article would be a better solution. --Allen3 talk 15:47, 18 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
