Pre-FLC review request

I'm getting close to nominating List of Maryland Terrapins football honorees as a FAC, and would really appreciate if you could give it a once over. Another set of eyes on it before it goes to FLC would be a big help. I understand if you don't have the time available, though. Thanks. Strikehold (talk) 02:33, 17 June 2009 (UTC)

Ron Hamence in 1948

Renominated him. Thanks YellowMonkey (cricket calendar poll!) paid editing=POV 03:40, 17 June 2009 (UTC)

I'm sure you remember it, but I'm just a little worried that nothing concrete has happened in the FAC yet to stop an archive. Good to be back at FAC and get your always useful comments, by the way. Apterygial 12:20, 17 June 2009 (UTC)

Tiger Woods GAR

You did a bang up job in finding new refs for the article. I have just realized I did not check the old refs. There are a bunch of dead links. Would you accept responsibility for cleaning these up or should I reopen the GAR for wider efforts. Hit my talk page.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 03:38, 18 June 2009 (UTC)

Thanks!

Just wanted to say thanks for the pre-FAC review. I've gotten a great response from editors, and I'll likely be putting it up for FAC at this time next week. JKBrooks85 (talk) 08:38, 18 June 2009 (UTC)

I've posted the FAC for 2009 Orange Bowl now. Thank you again for your help in the pre-FAC review. JKBrooks85 (talk) 00:41, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

Hi, can you comment on the flag issue that I've raised? I've no strong preference, but would like to hear other users' opinions. Thanks, Dabomb87 (talk) 04:01, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

Hey, I just wanted to let you know that I have started another nomination for the article Mariano Rivera due to the progress I made in addressing reviewer concerns. You had commented on the previous nomination and I wanted to contact you to see if you could also comment on the 2nd nomination and the progress that has been made on the article. Thanks. Thank you for commenting on this FLC. I believe that all of your concerns have been addressed. I would appreciate it if you could check back when you have some time. Thanks again, GaryColemanFan (talk) 02:51, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

You stated in this FLC that you were waiting for Dabomb87's responses regarding the sources. He has replied and said that they all look good. Hi, could you comment on whether this is a list or an article here? On an unrelated note, that hyphen in the "17-14" of your signature has always bothered me! Dabomb87 (talk) 22:00, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

Dabomb, your commitment to WP:DASH is seemingly endless. I hope you don't have immediate plans to move from signatures to categories! Rambo's Revenge (talk) 22:39, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
Curse Wikipedia for forcing upon me those niceties of typography of dashes, ellipses and non-breaking spaces! Dabomb87 (talk) 22:46, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
I'll have to see if user preferences has the nice edit box that includes the en dash. Will also look at the article/list tomorrow; it struck me as a hybrid when I reviewed it, but I didn't pay close attention to whether or not it was over the line for an FL. Giants2008 (17-14) 01:51, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
I was only (half) joking, of course. If you're serious about it, you can always use the HTML code: – Dabomb87 (talk) 13:39, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
There's an edit box!? I've been using HTML code for all these years and converting it in the search box! Rambo's Revenge (talk) 14:02, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
Oh dear, it seems it has taken me this long to realise there is an edit bar underneatch the summary box. I never usually scroll down that far. :( Rambo's Revenge (talk) 14:05, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
The user preferences page didn't have an edit box, but code apparently works. :-) Giants2008 (17–14) 23:45, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

Questions

Hi there. Lately, I've been working on Toney Douglas, whom you might be a little interested in now that he's a Knick; I'm trying to finish expanding it before the article reaches the front page for DYK. Three things I'm worried about:

  • Missed any crucial bits of info?
  • Undue weight? I've already cut out some trivial statistics.
  • NPOV? I'm too close to the article to tell, but does it glorify him to much?

I'll be interested to hear your opinion. Cheers, Dabomb87 (talk) 00:42, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

Thanks. I'm in the middle of writing the pro section (which won't be nearly as long as the college section). In the long run though, will Hill and Douglas really change things around at Madison Square Garden? Doubtful... Dabomb87 (talk) 01:26, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

Career leaders lists

I'm not sure. For statistics like saves and hits, finite numbers which don't go down (only up), I'd say it's probably OK to make the change. The reason I did that is because of fluctuating numbers like career batting average, slugging pct., etc. KV5 (TalkPhils) 02:56, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
