A brief introduction to how things work here[edit]

Please sign your posts on talk pages with four tildes (~~~~, found next to the 1 key).
Always cite a source for any new information, using <ref>reference tags like this</ref>, containing the name of the source, the author, page number, publisher or web address (if applicable).
"Truth" is not the criteria for inclusion, verifiability is.
We do not publish original thought nor original research. We're not a blog, we're not here to promote any ideology.
Reliable sources typically include: articles from magazines or newspapers (particularly scholarly journals), or books by recognized authors (basically, books by respected publishers). Online versions of these are usually accepted, provided they're held to the same standards. User generated sources (such as Wikipedia) are to be avoided. Self-published sources should be avoided except for information by and about the subject that is not self-serving (for example, citing a company's website to establish something like year of establishment).
Articles are to be written from a neutral point of view. Wikipedia is not concerned with facts or opinions, it just summarizes reliable sources. Real scholarship actually does not say what understanding of the world is "true," but only with what there is evidence for. In the case of science, this evidence must ultimately start with physical evidence. For when you want to link to other articles: When you want to link to another article, place the article's name between two brackets, [[Like this]] (so, [[Fnord]] renders as Fnord). If you want to link to an external website, place it between single brackets, [http://www.like-this.com]. You can also turn a selection of words into an internal or external link. To turn text into a link [[put the article name before the "|" character|and the link text after that character, like so]]. To turn text into an external link into text, [http://www.like-this.com place a space after the link and type away]. Be sure to have the correct number of brackets. Before adding a category to an article, as you did to Drake equation, please make sure that the subject of the article really belongs in the category that you specified according to Wikipedia's categorization guidelines. hey.  i just do stuff on the fly when it comes to wikipedia. im not getting paid for the "work" that i do when i add stuff, etc.  seems there are folks like you who seem to take this wikiwork job way too seriously.  i added stuff NUMEROUS TIME in various "see also" sections without any backtalk, etc.  maybe its folks like you, who make folks like me say "fuck it"  i wont do anything here, since im not getting paid.  so guess what, from now on, im not going to do a damn thing on wikipedia  [all you anal retentive, mightier than thou folks can go fuck yourselves].

I was the one who originally made the changes to the article, but another user mentioned i didnt do it correctly, so i simply deleted what i contributed. cant see how this is "vandalism" per se since it seems im doing the article a favor b/c it wasnt done correctly to begin with.

you folks really need to make up your minds. do you want ppl to volunteer their respective time/effort to make the article better, or do you not ?? if yous do, then simply correct whatever was wrong, and move on. complaining about how it wasnt done to perfection only invites ppl to simply not waste their time, effort and be stressed about.

Adding "trapping" to Bushcraft skills[edit]

Hello!

Don't think there is any problem with adding "trapping" to the list of skills. I had based the earlier examples from books/resources that were specifically cited elsewhere on the page, so that things were all coherent.

There's plenty enough discussion about trapping on the reddit r/Bushcraft - it can get a bit tricky though as rules/laws/guidelines differ so much from Country to Country, and people don't think to identify their locale.

I've used the paragraph with your addition on r/Bushcraft - so that's as good an "approve" as I can give!
