License tagging for File:Less is more--.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Less is more--.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 03:05, 8 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Kevinstea.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Kevinstea.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. June 2011[edit]

Hello Gmccombs. If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Kevin Stea, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 21:05, 3 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Felton Institute requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Comment I just noticed this action on the Felton article. It is my recollection that I put that article up, using a photo from the archives of the Family Service Agency from 1889 of Kitty Felton, at the direction of my boss at the time who wrote the article and provided the materials. It was a struggle for me to put it on wikipedia, but I eventually succeeded. (It seemed easier to put things on wikipedia 5 years ago than it is now.) However, the boss left shortly after that and I have not worked under them for over 4 years. I am sorry, but I do not have any further information on the listing other than what was given to me years ago, and feel unqualified to do anything at this time. Family Service Agency is the owner of the website mentioned. I will direct the attention of the people at the Family Service Agency's Felton Institute to this discussion and leave it to them to take further steps if any. 69.181.192.117 (talk) 01:21, 7 June 2011 (UTC) Greg McCombs[reply]

Afd (Articles for deletion)[edit]

I'm not especially a fan of Stea (had never heard of him before) but I'd be glad to help dig to see if there are sources that might meet Wikipedia's requirements. I'm still fairly new at some of this so I'm not claiming to be an expert, but I do know some stuff that might help. Right now I'm not convinced that he'll get an article, but I'm not convinced that he won't. Remember an Afd discussion takes at least 7 days so there's time. If you want to brainstorm about the hunt for sources, stop by the article talk page at Talk:Kevin Stea. Cloveapple (talk) 17:39, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure if you saw any of my replies on Talk:Kevin Stea?

I should also let you know about the "watch" feature on Wikipedia. Do you see the tabs at the top of this page? Things like "user page" and "discussion"? Well there's a tab that says "watch" at the top of every page. If you click it on a page that interests you your "watchlist" will have a note on it every time new stuff is on that page. (The watchlist feature is up at the top above the tabs and to the right. You should be logged in to use it.) That's how people know when there are new things on pages that interest them. So for example I have this page watched, and I have the Talk:Kevin Stea page watched, along with many others. Cloveapple (talk) 05:25, 9 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Footnotes for non English sources[edit]

A little bit ago you were asking about this and I didn't know. Here's an artice that has lots of examples: Pearlasia Gamboa. I noticed footnotes 9 and 10 show how you should have the original language quote as well as a translation. Cloveapple (talk) 16:59, 12 June 2011 (UTC) Wow. Thanks. Now I can really make things clear. 69.181.192.117 (talk) 17:52, 12 June 2011 (UTC)Gmccombs[reply]

You're welcome. It's a neat solution. I'm definitely going to be using it inthe future. Cloveapple (talk) 09:40, 13 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Kevin Stea home free[edit]

I see the Afd is closed and the verdict is keep. You put in a lot of work on that one so time to celebrate. Now you've got all the time in the world to work on it or to check out other pages. I'll be working on other projects and won't be following so closely. I did want to let you know one important thing though. I've noticed that sometimes you log in and sometimes you don't. Be careful not to do that because then it looks like you are trying to look like more than one person. I'm not saying you are doing that, just that since scammers sometimes do that it might make you look bad some time in the future. Drop me a line anytime. Cloveapple (talk) 09:33, 13 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I know! I had so much trouble remembering all the steps! I could see I forgot to sign in or sign the comment but could not figure out how to go back and fix it. But I got better there at the end. Thanks you so much for your help and guidance. Sincerely. Gmccombs (talk) 13:34, 13 June 2011 (UTC)Gmccombs[reply]

File permission problem with File:Kevin Stea red head shot.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Kevin Stea red head shot.jpg, which you've sourced to Kevin Stea. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 19:58, 25 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
