Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Grandini, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Helmut Kirchmeyer, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may soon be deleted.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on this page, followed by your question, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

The article Helmut Kirchmeyer has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, all newly created biographies of living persons must have at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. The best way to respond is to find at least one reliable source to add to the article. When you've done that, you can remove the proposed deletion tag and that will stop the deletion process. The Blade of the Northern Lights (話して下さい) 15:48, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately, on your own admission you are closely connected with the subject. Please read WP:COI before making further edits to the article. Thanks. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 23:34, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'm also sorry that I've had to put some more conspicuous tags on the article. This is not so much a reflection on your work - I am absolutely convinced your father is notable, but the claims, sometimes promotional, need to be sourced, failing which they must be removed, in particular the section on Methods. Normally I would look for sources myself, but as you are certainly best placed to do this, perhaps you would put them on the article talk page and we'll insert them for you. That said, why is there no article on the German Wikipedia? Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 00:04, 21 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I understand your concerns and will try to address them as good as I can and add references and sources, however, it will take me a while to do so due to my job and since I might have to make inquiries myself. There is a lot of material about my father in German language, also a website and many book reviews, so I did not feel this information is missing, and since I live in the United States and I started to translate part of his work into English language it felt more natural to write in English. There will be a complete translation, mostly made by a British translator, for his latest update on the Stravinsky catalogue soon. I will consider, ones the English article passes your and Wikipedia's quality control, to provide the German translation.
