The article Martyn Hammersley has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, Hammerart. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your circle, your organization, its competitors, projects or products;
  • instead propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. HappyValleyEditor (talk) 03:49, 9 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of Interest[edit]

Hello! I'm just wondering if you know Martyn Hammersley, or have some connection to him? You seem to have a wealth of information with regards to the article on him. HappyValleyEditor (talk) 20:24, 11 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

He's a major figure in the field in which I work, I noticed that there wasn't an entry on him. The information is publicly available from various sources, some of them cited.Hammerart (talk) 13:59, 18 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest, again[edit]

You appear to be either Martyn Hammersley or someone who is very skillfully channeling him. You created the article on Hammersley, and you are its main contributor both by quantity of edits and added text, and you created the article Subtle realism, about a term coined by Hammersley, written with the kind of original research and point of view that we could expect from Hammersley himself.

I see that you cleverly evaded another editor's question in 2016 about whether you are Hammersley. If you are Hammersley, you should have the intellectual virtue (including respect for Wikipedia's guidelines) to disclose that fact on your user page (click on that red link to edit it), and per the WP:COI guideline you should use {{request edit}} to request edits at Talk:Martyn Hammersley instead of directly editing the Martyn Hammersley article yourself, except for removing unsourced material or fixing very obvious errors.

You are not doing Hammersley a favor if you continue to edit as you have so far without explicitly disclosing whether you are him. I'm not trying to force you to reveal your identity, but if you are Hammersley you should think deeply about why you are not following Wikipedia's guidelines, and then realize that if you want to edit Wikipedia then it's best for everyone, especially yourself, if you follow the guidelines. Your thoughts please. Talk:Evidence-based education[edit]

Hi. Please see my comments on Talk:Evidence-based education. I am proposing a major revision of this article because a) it needs more background information, b) the charts are not dated, appear to be out of date, are not verifiable, conflict with reports from "Best Evidence Encyclopedia", and are impossible to keep current.

I welcome your comments before I attempt to make the revision. John (talk) 15:21, 16 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
