Unspecified source for Image:05ann140.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:05ann140.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 11:26, 22 May 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? MER-C 11:26, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:Pebble and the penguin.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Pebble and the penguin.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 03:07, 28 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:SNOWWHITEDVD.JPG)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:SNOWWHITEDVD.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. A tag has been placed on Color Me Mine, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of Color Me Mine and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Camanda (talk) 02:51, 13 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please DO NOT REMOVE[edit]

the Speedy Deletion tag from the article. If you wish to contest the deletion, please follow the instructions in the tag.

Your request that I block an IP[edit]

There was only one edit from that IP, and since you reverted it and he hasn't edited since then there's no need for a block. Normally we block vandals, especially IP addresses, only when they disregard multiple warnings and show no indication of stopping. Daniel Case (talk) 23:20, 13 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your edits to the various two-letter disambiguation pages (for example BP, PP, MC, RR) seem to be entirely WP:MADEUP. Brainstorming every possible combination of word pairs, backforming them to an acronym, and then adding them to the acronym's disambiguation page is contrary to the Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information policy. Please find a better forum for your work (for example, http://knol.google.com has no restrictions). -- DanielPenfield (talk) 16:24, 16 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

April 2009[edit]

In a recent edit to the page Double Fantasy, you changed one or more words from one international variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English in Wikipedia articles.

For subjects exclusively related to Britain (for example, a famous British person), use British English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. For something related to other English-speaking countries, such as Canada, Australia, or New Zealand, use the appropriate variety of English used there. If it is an international topic, use the same form of English the original author used.

In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to the other, even if you don't normally use the version the article is written in. Respect other people's versions of English. They in turn should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Wikipedia:Manual of Style. If you have any queries about all this, you can ask me on my talk page or you can visit the help desk. Thank you. freshacconci talktalk 01:46, 13 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Link format[edit]

[http://example.com/link_1 Link 1] link the site after the first bracket, then add a space, then add the descriptor or title page.

You should also read the Wikipedia:External Links article, specifically this section (and #11) discussing what should not be linked. Sottolacqua (talk) 13:56, 30 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Tagging[edit]

Tagging is what you did with those towns. The {{fact}} tag indicates that an editor challenges a particular statement and feels it needs to be backed up by a citation. And since almost nothing in any of those articles is cited, a lot more than just three towns could be tagged. You shouldn't tag something with a {{fact}} because it's a redlink. If you think the redlink is an unlikely future article, then unlink the word or phrase. {{fact}} is just for challenging statements and getting them to be backed up by citations. June Lockhart[edit]

Thanks for your note about where to put your information about the game show appearance.

IMO, the best place would be on the page about the show. Wikipedia has guidelines about "notability" WP:NOTE - having a famous actress on a show is notable for the show, not for the actress.

Another choice might be to start a "further information" or "trivia" section (though Wiki doesn't like those) on the Lockhart page. Maybe there is some other information that other people know about her that would also fit there. regards, Sensei48 (talk) 16:24, 10 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs[edit]

Hello HannahMiley! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 938 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hi, this message is to let you know about disambiguation links you've recently created. A link to a disambiguation page is almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Thumbelina (soundtrack)[edit]

Hi. You created the Thumbelina (soundtrack) page back in 2009. There is a sentence which ends "[William] Ross conducted the Dublin scoring sessions with the Irish Film Orchestra," which I have not been able to find a source for. It was not in any of the original references and the only thing that Google could find was clearly derivative from Wikipedia. Do you have any idea where this may have come from? If you do, you can leave it on my talk page and I will fix it. Right now there is a 'citation needed' marker on the Thumbelina (soundtrack) page. Thanks. File permission problem with File:David Jolly Picture, Republican nominee.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:David Jolly Picture, Republican nominee.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Hekerui (talk) 21:35, 14 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
