Thank you.

A tag has been placed on Designing modular steel buildings, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be unambiguous advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of Designing modular steel buildings and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. ~dee 21:47, 21 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Designing modular steel buildings requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Notability[edit]

Heather,

If you want an article on Pembs Steel Buildings to survive you need to establish the notability of the company. What there is at the moment doesn't do that, it reads a little more than an advert, hence my nominating it for speedy deletion. What's special about them that makes them stand out from other suppliers of steel buildings? External, independant references are the best solution. Something tangible that others have said makes this company special e.g. do they have a unique innovative production mehtond that has been reviewed in a trade journal? It's evidence of that sort that is needed. I know there is an article on West Yorkshire Steel and it has that sort of references supporting it. Even if it didn't please see WP:OTHERSTUFF as to why the existence of one article doesn't justify the existence of another. NtheP (talk) 20:47, 22 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Help request[edit]

Moved down here, to the end; please add all new comments at the end of talkpages. Chzz  ►  22:58, 22 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I started on wiki after tracking down West Yorkshire Steel. I tried to emulate this. then after reading about not about a company focused more on the aspect of the speed and design features of modern steel buildings. I am trying to work out the rationale of what articles can contain and need to understand the fundamental difference between the West Yorkshire article and mine. Hope you can clear this up. I assume this is re. User:Heatherwilcox/pembsBasics.
The W. yorks steel article is not at all good; it needs fixing or deleting. There are lots of bad articles on Wikipedia, but that isn't a good reason to add more. See WP:OTHERSTUFF
Articles need to show why the subject is notable - which means, several independent reliable sources - for example, 3 or more newspaper articles that are actually about it. Books are great too. Some websites, sure - BBC News, etc. But whatever the refs are, they need to have a "reputation for fact-checking and accuracy".
See also WP:FIRST for more tips.
