Hello, thank you and I understand. We are assisting with the Trans Am Series on historical records and specifically those key figures in the sport before the internet. Jim is one of those who if not for him the Trans Am Series would not be around today. We have other racers, promoters and vintage events that are lacking coverage and records here on Wikipedia. In my spare time I try to add to current racing athletes pages and updated content. There is an incredible amount of data now in the modern days of the sport. I have additional citations from local news papers and press releases from the 1980's to add to Jim's profile. Can you please tell me if there is any issue with the information that has been presented so far? It has all been validated by the sanctioning body SCCA and the Series. I appreciate your help. The issue so far seems to be that James Derhaag hasn't been shown to meet our notability requirements. For a person, this would be WP:NPERSON - I recommend giving that page a very good read, since we tend to be picky about biographies of living people on this site. The crux is finding multiple sources that are all of the following: published, independent, secondary, reliable, and containing significant coverage of the subject. Reading the page I linked you to, and some of the links on that page, should help you figure out what Wikipedia means when it uses those terms (independent, secondary, etc.). Press releases are not useful in this case and neither is validation by sanctioning bodies. Newspaper articles are usually good, though - focus on things like that.
I'd recommend trying to get together with Race Car 40, since they're working on Draft:Jim Derhaag and seem to be either Jim Derhaag or his paid representative. Their talk page is here, if you'd like to try leaving a message; I've also pinged them so they'll be aware of this post. They don't seem to be very active, though. If they've attached an email address to their account, you can try sending a message that way (you need to also have attached an email address to your account; if you go to their talk page and look at the sidebar on the left, there'll be an option to send an email if you're both set up for it). 199.208.172.35 (talk) 22:27, 22 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, very helpful and thank you. We will collaborate the independent media sources that we have and update here. Helpfulmod (talk) 23:36, 22 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
