3rd Party
Hello Hmwith. Looking for a 3rd party opinion on what is UNDUE over at Circumcision. Just check the history and you will see what is in contention. Garycompugeek (talk) 21:05, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- I'll read into it. Thanks for the heads up. hmwithτ 01:48, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
Image of Sankarshan Das Adhikari re-uploaded
Hi, Not sure why this image was deleted. I'm a new wikipedian, and have explicit written permission from the owner of this website to upload this image to wikipedia. I may have selected the wrong "license options" due to lack of knowledge.
I'm re-uploading this image.--Bindumadhava (talk) 20:54, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
- Hello, Bindumadhava. I would be glad to help you with adding the correct license to this image. I know this can be a bit confusing at first. What you need to do it add a tag to the image. Do you know its specific copyright status? That's needed for the image to be hosted on Wikipedia.
- However, if the copyright holder gave you permission to use the image specifically for Wikipedia, that's not a valid license here. The criteria for speedy deletion policy explains that "images licensed as 'for non-commercial use only', 'non-derivative use' or 'used with permission'" are to be speedy deleted unless they comply with the non-free content guidelines, which Image:Sankarshan das adhikari.jpg does not, as it is replaceable.
- The image could be used, though, if the copyright holder decides to release the image under the GNU Free Documentation License (more information can be found at WP:GFDL). Let me know if you have any further questions. Have a great day, hmwithτ 01:48, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
Thank you for your very illuminating explanation. Now I understand better. I will ask the owner of the copyright about whether he accepts the GNU Free Documentation License and get back to you. If I do get his permission for this, how do I get the image back online? Do I send you his response, or just go ahead and "undelete" or "reupload"?--Bindumadhava (talk) 16:59, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
- You can simply drop me a line, and I'll undelete the image, and I can assist you in correctly tagging the image if you'd like. I look forward to hearing back from you. hmwithτ 21:33, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
Thank you. I'm positively overwhelmed by your attitude to help and assist a newcomer to Wikipedia. Now I have received permission to make the image available under the GNU Free documentation license.Bindumadhava (talk) 20:23, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
- Alright. I think all of the information you need is available on Wikipedia:Example requests for permission. hmwithτ 03:17, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
My RFB
Thank you for your comments in my RFB. Since it was only at 64%, it was a shoo-in to be unsuccessful, so I withdrew. I didn't want it to run until its scheduled close time because my intent in standing for RFB was to help the bureaucrats with their workload, not give them one more RfX to close. Through the course of my RFB, I received some very valuable feedback, some of it was contradictary, but other points were well agreed upon. I have ceased my admin coaching for now to give me time to revamp my method. I don't want to give up coaching completely, but I'm going to find a different angle from which to approach it. As for my RFA Standards, I am going to do some deep intraspection. I wrote those standards six months ago and I will slowly retool them. This will take some time for me to really dig down and express what I want in an admin candidate. If, after some serious time of deep thought, I don't find anything to change in them, I'll leave them the way they are. I'm not going to change them just because of some community disagreement as to what they should be. Will I stand for RFB again in the future? I don't know. Perhaps some time down the road, when my tenure as an administrator is greater than one year, if there is a pressing need for more active bureaucrats, maybe. If there no pressing need, then maybe not. Useight (talk) 03:14, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
Hi there, Ive recently joined the WP:WikiProject Swimming team. Im committed to getting on top of the project. Since you have listed yourself as a participant i thought i'd let you know what i've done. Ive got a bot thats going through the relevant catagouries that apply to the project and tagging them with our banner. Ive done all the stub class articles and assessed them automaticlly, and im starting on the 3000 other articles that ive identified. So this will mean that we will have all the articles in the scope of the project together and we can start working on them. So if you have any spare time theres going to be thousands of articles that will need assessing. There are around 2000 articles Just in Stub-Class swimming articles, and most of these will need the importance assessed. I think it's important we get all this assessing done, so we can start working on the articles.
Don't fell pressured to start assessing articles, i just thought that since theres going to be so many articles, you should know that theres heaps of work that needs to be done, ill be trying my best once my exams are finished. Remember many hands make light work.

Hi Hmwith! Just thought I would ask before I went ahead and did it, whether you mind if I "borrow" the matrix of wikimedia products from your userpage? Cheers — Relyimah (t-c-e) 00:46, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

What are your Wiki interests
[The following comment was copied here from User talk:hmwith/userboxes]:
Hi Hmwith,
I need a third party opinion and help regarding the article Living Stream Ministry. As you are registered as a user who values third party opinion and offers as well, I thought of asking you. Also I request you to specify your wiki related projects or interests on your Userpage as none of the third opinion editors on wiki have specified their interests on wiki. This is kind of both strange and funny! Anyways, just let me know, if you are interested in Christianity related articles. Thanks a lot. HopeChrist (talk) 23:10, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
- I bet that has to do something with editors who are interested in giving third opinions being neutral & not letting their personal beliefs affect their editing here. Therefore, they probably don't think it should matter. But regarding the article, on what exactly would you like a 3rd opinion? hmwithτ 04:30, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
Well thanks a lot, ya, for now I have reported the matter to the project coordinator. I think this should resolve the dispute. If there is further dispute, I'll let you know. Thanks again. HopeChrist (talk) 20:14, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
