August 2010[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Haspop has been reverted.
Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. I removed the following link(s): http://www.youtube.com/user/haspop?blend=2&ob=1. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy and therefore probably should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 08:12, 1 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Haspop has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

In the past, consensus has been that participation on a reality show does not, in itself, make a person meet Wikipedia's notability criteria. In this case, I don't see the reliable independent sources to show that this person is well-known beyond his participation in this program.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. I have nominated Haspop, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Haspop. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 21:53, 1 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 14:36, 2 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Interactions with others[edit]

Hi. I'm afraid that actions such as this appear to be intended to harass other contributors, though that may not be your intention. There are policies that govern how Wikipedia's contributors interact with one another: among them, Wikipedia:Harassment and Wikipedia:Civility require collegial and respectful interaction with others. If a contributor has requested that you not copy her words from one forum to another, you should not do so without a very good reason, or you may run the risk of being sanctioned.

I realize that it is distressing to have an article that you have created and into which you have put so much work nominated for deletion. This nomination, though, is not personal against you or the subject. The Wikipedia community has policies that govern content inclusion. The "articles for deletion" forum exists to allow contributors to bring up their concerns about content and for other contributors to enter conversation about whether the article should be retained or deleted. The best way to address the situation is to read their concerns and take steps to alleviate them. As it happens, I believe that this article should be retained, and I have explained why at that conversation. I've also added some additional sources to the article to try to help others determine whether or not Haspop currently meets the notability guidelines for people. If it is determined through that conversation (an uninvolved administrator will evaluate "consensus" after several days) that he does not, it doesn't mean he never will. Certainly, if he places well in the contest, he is very likely to generate considerable interest in the press which may help to more firmly establish his article. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 16:06, 2 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your work on the article, User:Moonriddengirl. It would be great if your help saved the article from deletion. -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 18:09, 2 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not attack other editors. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. Moonriddengirl (talk) 17:03, 3 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I am not attacking anyone. I am just pointing out what I perceive as hypocrisy of someone nominated my article for deletion, and yet is the author of articles that should be deleted by his own criteria. He even stated that he thought about nominating his own article?? And then when that person rebuts by telling you that he is trying to help you, then it rings untrue. Thank you for cleaning up my article. Hwangd01 (talk) 04:19, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. You may perceive it as hypocrisy, but you should not use such loaded terms. Among Wikipedia's other behavior policies, we are required to assume good faith of others—in the absence of strong evidence otherwise, we should assume that people here are interested in building a good encyclopedia, even if we don't always agree on what makes a good encyclopedia. Again, I realize it is distressing when somebody nominates an article you've created for deletion; it's hard not to feel a bit personally offended. But User:FisherQueen seems to have spent quite a bit of time responding to your concerns at her talk page, trying to explain the situation from her perspective. I suspect this is what she meant when she said she was trying to help you. Thousands of articles are deleted on Wikipedia every day, and I'm sorry to say that many people who nominate them for deletion would not spend so much time discussing them.  :/
Anyway, I am happy to have helped with the article. We'll see if consensus is to retain it. And, again, even if it isn't, that will certainly change if he places well. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:31, 5 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
