I notice that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. Your use of multiple Wikipedia accounts[edit]

Hi. An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Dear Daniel & The Wikipedia Community, I would like to ask for your help sorting out the blocking of my account and the edits made to the i2c, In.c page. This is the first time ever I have worked with Wikipedia and quite honestly, I didn't know what I was doing. Sorry -- I meant no harm and just wanted to get the facts corrected and some new facts added to the i2c, Inc. page. Basically, I saw some incorrect information on the page and sought to replace it with current information. I did so but had the entire article reverted back by a user, Discospinster, who claimed it was promotional. They did not point out which parts were objectionable, however, and since I tried to stay factual with my updates (siting outside sources & references), I was a bit taken off guard by this. About a day after I created this account, I received a message stating that I chose a username that appears to have a conflict with the article subject and said that I should choose a new username. So I did (to Prepaid Reporter), but unbeknownst to me, Wikipedia considers this sock puppetry. And it totally is, but I didn't realize it! I just thought I was following the guidance to change the user name, and certainly did not have any malicious intent when doing so. I just want to make some corrections to the page and add some sources & references to the page (which are absent from the current page). If any of my proposed edits are promotional, it would be helpful to understand specifically what parts. I have read the guidelines on this, but am still struggling to see what parts of my update are promotional. I am happy to remove or update those parts though. But most importantly, I just want everyone to know that I have nothing to hide and really would like to continue having the privilege of contributing to Wikipedia in accordance with the rules (which I now understand much better having this happen!) If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

I would be willing to consider unblocking your account, but only on your acceptance of certain conditions. Firstly, you would need to agree to file a change of username request immediately after being unblocked. Secondly, as per the message above, you would need to agree to avoid editing the i2c Inc. article at all. You have a clear conflict of interest with Wikipedia as regards the subject, and the fact that you cannot understand how edits such as this are inappropriately promotional shows that you are not going to be able to write objectively about your company. You would, however, be permitted to request changes on the article's talkpage.
If you're willing to abide by these terms, please post a message below giving the new username you would like to use (you can check here to see whether it's already taken) and suggesting what sort of areas you might like to edit in instead of writing about i2c. I agree, Yunshui. My new user name will be The101 and I will change that right after this posting. Following are the edits I would like to request to the page:

Paragraph 1 Suggested Edit: i2c, Inc. was founded in 2001 by Amir Wain, the company's current chief executive officer. The company's first product, i2c FastCash, a point-of-sale activation processing solution, was quickly followed by the launch of i2c MCP, an issuer processing platform. The company then added i2c FastSettle, a billing and settlement automation platform, and i2c Engage, a real-time loyalty and marketing platform, to its offering.

Why This Edit? This first paragraph is not factual. The i2c CEO founded Innovative but they are separate organizations and one was never a subsidiary of the other as implied in this paragraph.

History Section - Suggested Edit: i2c, Inc. was founded in 2001 by Amir Wain, the company's current chief executive officer. Why This Edit? The fact that the i2c CEO founded another company, Innovative Private Ltd, is irrelevant to i2c's history. Furthermore, the 2nd paragraph reads more like a bio of the CEO as opposed to a history of i2c.

Products & Services Section - Suggested Edit:

The i2c payment and commerce processing platform consists of four major products:

i2c MCP – Provides back-end processing for cards, virtual accounts, mobile payments and stored value products. i2c FastCash – Supports in-person customer transactions through a variety of applications – web, mobile, ATM and self-service kiosks. i2c FastSettle - Billing and settlement engine for complex financial and non-financial transactions. i2c Engage - Loyalty and marketing platform that executes communications and campaigns based on real-time customer-initiated events, preferences and geo-location.

i2c offers a collection of services to support clients using the i2c platform, including:

Why This Edit? i2c is not a consulting & IT services company and does not offer managed services. It offers a platform consisting of 4 products and offers a set of services to support clients using the platform.

Global Offices Section - Suggested Edit: i2c is based in Redwood City, California, USA and has six sales & support offices worldwide.

Why This Edit? Current section implies that the company is based in Lahore and has other offices. The company is based in Redwood City, CA and has six supporting offices around the world.

Photo - Suggested Edit: I do not recognize the picture of the office currently displayed on the page. Request to either remove the photo or replace it with a photo of i2c's main corporate office.

Hmm. It's pretty clear that you still haven't gained much understanding of how Wikipedia works, although I should perhaps have been more extensive in my message above. Put simply, none of the above is going to be done, for the very basic reason that you've provided no sources for any of it (other than personal experience ("I do not recognize the picture"), which is worthless here). Without references to third-party, reliable sources, your suggestions are not going to be implemented. Given that you've not suggested any interest in editing beyond attempting to make changes to the i2c page (something I specifically requested in my previous message), it seems to me that your purpose here] is not to improve the encyclopedia, but to write about your company. If you aren't here to build an encyclopedia, then I don't see any benefit to the project in lifting the block; much as I hate to offer a carrot and then snatch it away, I can't in good conscience unblock your account. I'm therefore declining the unblock request above; if you would like to edit Wikipedia in areas unrelated to i2c then you will need to file a new request and find another admin willing to unblock you. Yunshui, I would really appreciate you helping me understand why I am still blocked. Your first reason is that the edits are unsourced. I can provide 3rd party sources to substantiate the information in my edits:

The content on the current page is unsourced, so the fact that I am providing facts, supported by independent sources, seems to me to be a good thing. The edits I just suggested are replacing inaccuracies with current facts.

Your second point of concern is that my only intention is to edit this page and no others. Why do you think this? I am a brand new user to Wikipedia (about 1 week; 4 days with editing privileges). Does Wikipedia have an expectation that users will edit more than one page within a specific time period in order to not be labeled as someone who has no interest in improving the encyclopedia? I think Wikipedia is a great tool and hope to be able to contribute to other pages.
