January 2023

Information icon Hello, I'm Philipnelson99. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions—specifically this edit to Z (2019 film)—because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Thanks. The change was the entire plot of the movie. Most movies have plots in the wikipedia article. They aren't usually just one line though. Iamglory (talk) 22:53, 28 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Z plot summary

[edit]

Hello lamglory. Wikipedia can be confusing when you're starting out, and it must have been discouraging when you spent a great deal of time on a Z summary, and then it was reverted back to the one line version. You may want to do some "homework" and look at Wikipedia articles on movies you've seen. Look for plot summaries that are many paragraphs long, but don't have all the details you put into your summary that was deemed to be too long. Can you understand the plots in the summaries that are less than 700 words – ones that briefly state all important plot twists, but don't mention every movie scene? I looked over your summary (I followed the link an editor gave in the January 2023 section) and tried to think of ways to shorten it. FYI - I've never seen the movie Z. You could start a new beginning of the summary something like this:

Josh Parsons, eight-year-old son of Beth and Kevin, has an imaginary friend named Z. Beth becomes concerned about Josh pretending Z is real, and one day she thinks she sees glowing eyes in her son’s closet.
Beth gets a call from Josh’s teacher, Ms. Hirsch, who says the boy is being suspended from school for using bad language and hitting classmates. Hirsch says the problems are explained on the red card she sent home with Josh, which Beth’s husband signed. Kevin never told Beth about the card.

You might come up with sentences better than mine, but I believe my beginning lets readers know there is an imaginary friend, and some troubling things are taking place. I hope this gives you some help in writing a shorter, but complete, plot summary. Karenthewriter (talk) 19:10, 29 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
