An article you recently created, Draft:DK (South Korean singer), is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline, biography guideline, and singer guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. As the subject is Korean-related, please also take a look at WP:KO/RS on a list of reliable sources, and WP:KO/RS#UR on a list of unreliable sources. Paper9oll (🔔📝) 15:11, 26 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Why DK (South Korean singer) (draft) is eligible to be a Wikipedia article

[edit]

This article is about Dk of Seventeen (South Korean band). The information provided here has been taken from reliable sources after checking Wikipedia:WikiProject Korea/Reliable sources. The reason why this article is fit to be a Wikipedia article is because it fits the Wikipedia:Notability (music) such as:

A. Has been the subject of multiple, non-trivial, published works appearing in sources that are reliable, not self-published, and are independent of the musician or ensemble itself.

  • This criterion includes published works in all forms, such as newspaper articles, books, magazine articles, online versions of print media, and television documentaries except for the following:
    1. Any reprints of press releases, other publications where the musician or ensemble talks about themselves, and all advertising that mentions the musician or ensemble, including manufacturers' advertising.
    2. Works consisting merely of trivial coverage, such as articles that simply report performance dates, articles giving release information or track listings, or publications of contact and booking details in directories.
    3. Articles in a school or university newspaper (or similar), in most cases.

→Many non-trivial published newspaper articles (from Newsis, The Korea Times, Osen, Naver etc) as well as online articles have mentioned him (independent of his group) and his works, including his solo works. All these sources have been used in article).

B. Has released two or more albums on a major record label or on one of the more important indie labels (i.e., an independent label with a history of more than a few years, and with a roster of performers, many of whom are independently notable).

He has released songs from Hybe Corporation and it's subsidiary company Pledis Entertainment. He has also written many songs and albums published by the companies.

C. Is an ensemble that contains two or more independently notable musicians, or is a musician who has been a reasonably prominent member of two or more independently notable ensembles. This should be adapted appropriately for musical genre; for example, having performed two lead roles at major opera houses. Note that this criterion needs to be interpreted with caution, as there have been instances where this criterion was cited in a circular manner to create a self-fulfilling notability loop (e.g., musicians who were "notable" only for having been in two bands, of which one or both were "notable" only because those musicians had been in them.)

He has played King Arthur in XCalibur with Kai (musician, born 1981)and Kim Junsu. In his second year of being cast as King Arthur, more members, who are also notable for their work in music joined as cast members. All of these are mentioned, with reliable sources, in the article.

D. Has performed music for a work of media that is notable, such as a theme for a network television show, performance in a television show or notable film, inclusion on a notable compilation album. (But if this is the only claim, it is probably more appropriate to have a mention in the main article and redirect to that article. Read the policy and notability guideline on subjects notable only for one event, for further clarifications).

He has performed in many original soundtracks of notable Korean dramas such as Twenty-Five Twenty-One, Tempted (TV series), Hospital Playlist etc mentioned in the article with reliable sources.

E. Has credit for writing or co-writing either lyrics or music for a notable composition.

He has co-written many notable songs all listed in the article with reliable sources.

F. Has written a composition that has won (or in some cases been given a second or other place) in a major music competition not established expressly for newcomers.

He has won many awards such as MAMA Awards, Golden Disc, Asia Artist Awards etc for the compositions he has written. However, they are not mentioned in this article. List of awards have been mentioned in List of awards and nominations received by Seventeen. He has also won music show awards such as Music Bank (TV program), Inkigayo, Show! Music Core etc mentioned in BSS (band) and Seventeen (South Korean band)'s main article.

I have also read similar articles to improve my article. Please feel free to point out any areas which need improvements. Idk nothing so just (talk) 20:10, 30 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Your submission at Articles for creation: DK (South Korean singer) (November 3)

[edit]
Your recent article submission has been rejected. If you have further questions, you can ask at the Articles for creation help desk or use Wikipedia's real-time chat help. The reason left by M4V3R1CK32 was: This topic is not sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia. The comment the reviewer left was: Additions since last decline do not demonstrate notability. New submissions are archive links to existing sources, passing mentions, or WP:ROUTINE coverage. Repeated declines led to this rejection.
