Welcome

[edit]

Hello Ifightback and welcome to Wikipedia! I'm AndrewvdBK, one of the many editors of this great website. I've posted this just to give you some useful advice and help you to settle in. You'll find that Wikipedia is much more than just articles and that there are many areas in which you can help out.

If you want to create an article, I would suggest using the Article Wizard. It will guide you through what you should do to write a great first article. To learn more about editing articles, this page will tell you all you need to know.
To learn more about the fundamental principles by which Wikipedia operates, read about the 5 Pillars of Wikipedia. They should help you to understand exactly what the website stands for.
You may not want to jump straight into editing and writing articles, which is perfectly understandable. The Sandbox is available for anyone to experiment in. You can even create your own sandbox if you wish.
If you want, you can upload images to Wikipedia. However, you will have to know about the image use policy if you are going to upload images. This is largely due to copyright issues, which Wikipedia takes very seriously.
It is important to be civil at all times and to respect the views of other users. Etiquette is a fundamental part of Wikipedia. Remember, the success of Wikipedia is down to teamwork and cooperation.
Eventually, you'll understand why these cookies are here

I hope you enjoy your time on Wikipedia - it can seem very confusing at times, but you'll find that most people are more than willing to help you if you need it. The longer you spend on Wikipedia, the more you'll learn about how it works. If you do need help, you can contact me by leaving a note on my talk page and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Alternatively, you can add the code {{helpme}} to your user page and someone will come along to offer you assistance.

One last thing - remember to sign all your posts by typing 4 tildes (~~~~). This automatically inserts your username and the time and date of the post.

Good luck and happy editing! AndrewvdBK (talk)

The article Candy Pangilinan has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Nomination of Minsan Laban Ng Buhay At Pagibig for deletion

[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Minsan Laban Ng Buhay At Pagibig is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Minsan episodes until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Moray An Par (talk) 01:07, 22 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Production staff

[edit]

Hello. I reverted your edits per WP:MOSTV. It says "Key crew members for each television show are listed in the infobox and do not need to be listed in the article. Generally, if there are any important people associated with the show they will be mentioned somewhere in the production information." See also WT:WikiProject Television#Staff list. If you would like to improve the article, please read the guidelines and use existing featured articles (top quality content) on television series as basis/auxiliary guide. For example, Firefly (TV series) and "Pilot" (Smallville). Feel free to ask me and WT:WikiProject Television questions. Moray An Par (talk) 01:32, 22 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Must we talk about this ↑ again? The list of characters is a subpage of Minsan so WP:MOSTV still applies. I will request a move for it to be renamed "List of Minsan ... characters". See how other articles are named (eg List of Fringe characters). Crew are not notable aka not worthy to be mentioned. They are simply too trivial. Moray An Par (talk) 03:50, 3 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Candy Pangilinan has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article. The nominator also raised the following concern:

no third party reliable sources provided to indicate WP:N has been met

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. File permission problem with File:Bugoy carino atom.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Bugoy carino atom.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 07:20, 14 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:ENTENG NG INA MO.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. Disruptive?

[edit]

Hi, you're accusations about me being disruptively editing the article Star Cinema is very malicious. How could you say my edits are disruptive when I am actually the only one who step up to made the article encyclopedic. Before as you know it, the article of Star Cinema sounds like a directory and an advertising than an encyclopedia. Now, if you are referring to your edits about the upcoming releases of Star Cinema, then you might as well know that the sub-article is being reconsider to be remove since the sources are unclear and unverified. Please know your grounds before accusing someone. -Visit Me (message) 22:21, 10 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

How to get things done on Wikipedia

[edit]

Hi, Ifightback, and thank you for your contributions to the Wikipedia project.
I notice you've just made a third "Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents" report, here. The first one was on 8 March 2012 and the second one was on 10 March 2012. That's three notifications in five days. You'll also notice that no action has resulted from the first two reports. The same thing will happen with the third notification, I'm afraid.

Look, you've made a few little mistakes (not notifying the users you've reported, not giving the users warnings, and another couple of other thing things that I can discuss later.) But there really important thing you've overlooked is on the top of the Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents page: Before posting a grievance about a user here, please discuss the issue with them on their user talk page. Wikipedia is a collaborative project. You have to discuss things to get things done on Wikipedia.

Hope this helps. --Shirt58 (talk) 08:17, 12 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Inakapatidanakcast.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 22:52, 3 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

"International" title = most prevalent title in English?

[edit]

I have to see the Manila Bulletin refer to "My Binondo Girl" as "Jade", and even if does, it does so with a caveat that it's an "international" title. The question is if the international title is the most prevalent title now. –HTD 14:12, 22 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Moving ABS-CBN shows to "international" titles

[edit]

Please discuss this first to other users via WT:TAMBAY or each of the talk pages of the questioned articles before making another move. You are mass moving articles to their supposed "international" titles at your own discretion and without proper consensus with other Wikipedia users, which can be considered vandalism by admins. -WayKurat (talk) 00:44, 24 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. Jauerbackdude?/dude. 12:48, 24 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The discussions at the Incidents notice board and at WT:TAMBAY have shown that there is no consensus for a massive moving of Philipino page names to allegedly international titles. Please refrain from moving any such pages unless there is individual consensus or proof by reliable sources for another title. And I would also ask you to not use all-caps sentences when posting edit summaries like this. This is considered shouting and is therefore very impolite and inappropriate. Should you continue moving Philipino TV series pages or other such articles to other titles without consensus you may be blocked from editing. De728631 (talk) 13:14, 25 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Notice

The file File:Walang Hanggan The Official Soundtrack.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-free album cover being used in a decorative manner in Walang Hanggan (TV series)#Official soundtrack. Non-free album cover art is generally allowed to be used for primary identification purposes in stand-alone articles about albums, but its use in other articles is generally only allowed when the cover art itself is the subject of sourced critical commentary as explained in WP:NFC#cite_note-3 and the context for non-free use required by WP:NFCC#8 is evident. There is no such commentary for this particular album cover anywhere in the article, and the use of soundtrack album cover art in articles about films or TV programs is generally not allowed for this reason as explained in WP:FILMSCORE and MOS:TVPRODUCTION.
