Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Your user page may not meet Wikipedia's user page guidelines. It is intended for basic information about yourself, your interests and goals as they relate to editing Wikipedia, as well as disclosures of conflicts of interest and paid editing. Although a lot of freedom is allowed in personalizing your user page, it is not:

The user page guidelines have additional information on what is and what is not considered acceptable content. Please use your user sandbox or the draft article space to practice editing or to create new articles. Thank you. — rsjaffe 🗣️ 18:07, 30 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi!
So how can I replace the user information? I have just written and published something in the sandbox.
And I would like to create an article about Heinz Neudecker. I mistakenly put the content on my user page, not knowing that I wasn't supposed to.
Hope you can help.
Best wishes,
ilia Ilianeudecker (talk) 18:21, 30 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The message gives links to your sandbox. Copy the page there to work on it. Delete the user page version. — rsjaffe 🗣️ 18:22, 30 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have tried to delete the user page but am not able to. Ilianeudecker (talk) 18:52, 30 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions; however, it appears you may have written a Wikipedia article, or a draft for a Wikipedia article, about yourself, at User:Ilianeudecker/sandbox. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – please see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Notable people who have edited Wikipedia). If you wish to add to or change an existing article about yourself, you are welcome to propose the changes by visiting the article's talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was the page I created deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss this with the deleting administrator. Thank you. jlwoodwa (talk) 18:52, 30 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I tried to write about my father (a distinguished professor, who died in 2017). Not about myself. I am trying to delete the content from my user page., Please tell me how. Ilianeudecker (talk) 18:53, 30 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please see the notice below. I have moved the content of your userpage to Draft:Heinz Neudecker.
Please be aware that it is an inherent conflict of interest (COI) to write about a family member. Editors with a COI often find it difficult to write from the required neutral point of view.
Please also be aware that he must meet Wikipedia's definition of a notable academic to merit inclusion. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 21:26, 30 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. This is just a note to let you know that I've moved the draft that you were working on to Draft:Heinz Neudecker, from its old location at User:Ilianeudecker. This has been done because the Draft namespace is the preferred location for Articles for Creation submissions. Please feel free to continue to work on it there. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to ask me on my talk page. Thank you. Drm310 🍁 (talk) 21:22, 30 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I am working on this article together with distinguished academics and am well aware of the need to keep a neutral position. Some people write about themselves on wiki. My father died 7 years ago and the academic community thinks it is important that his achievements are noted on Wikipedia. It will be a neutral, intersubjective article referencing some important works acknowledged in the international academic world and some facts about his life.
