December 2016[edit]

There are several problems with your editing, including the following.

  1. The content you have posted is unambiguously promotional. Wikipedia has no place for marketing-speak such as "will stand Eternally as the force to drive Hip-Hop to it's greatest destination" and so on and so on.
  2. Wikipedia user pages are for editors who are active in working for the project to give a little information about themselves in connection with their work for the encyclopaedia; they are not places to post any other kind of material. Likewise a talk page is for messages and discussions related to work for the encyclopaedia.
  3. The content you posted was copied from another source, perhaps infringing copyright law, and certainly not complying with Wikipedia's copyright policy, as we do not accept content copied from elsewhere without proof that the copyright holder has released it for free reuse in accordance with Wikipedia's licensing terms.
  4. The person you wrote about does not appear to satisfy Wikipedia's notability guidelines.
  5. You appear to have been writing about yourself, which Wikipedia's guideline on conflict of interest discourages. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 13:51, 7 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Ill smith requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Hi, thanks for message. You can sign your comments automatically using four tildes ~~~~. Although your article was advertising, it wasn't deleted as such. I deleted it as A7: Article about a band, singer, musician, or musical ensemble, which does not credibly indicate the importance or significance of the subject, read the log.

I deleted your article because

  • it did not provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. It is now Wikipedia policy that biographical articles about living people must have independent verifiable references, as defined in the link, or they will be deleted. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to you or your company, press releases, YouTube, IMDB, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what you or your company claim or interviewing you. You gave no references of any kind. Note that references should be in-line so we can tell what fact each is supporting, and should not be bare urls
  • I can't see any evidence that you meet the notability guidelines you have linked aboe, you appear to be just another non-notable singer.
  • it was written in a promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. Examples of unsourced claims presented as fact include: a long history of MC's... the greatest of the greatest MC's... appeared in numerous cities across the United States—, it's a vanity page
  • You have an obvious conflict of interest when writing about yourself. If, after reading the information about notability linked above, you still believe that you are notable enough for a Wikipedia article (and that there is significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources), you could, if you wish, post a request at Wikipedia:Requested articles for the article to be created. See also guidance for editors with conflicts of interest and writing about yourself.

This isn't social media where you can write what you like. Before attempting to write an article again, please make sure that the topic meets the notability criteria linked above, and check that you can find independent third party sources.
