Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions; however, please remember the essential rule of respecting copyrights. Edits to Wikipedia, such as your edit to the page Taxis of Hong Kong, may not contain material from copyrighted sources unless that text is available under a suitable free license. It is almost never okay to copy extensive text out of a book or website and paste it into a Wikipedia article with little or no alteration, though you can clearly and briefly quote copyrighted text in the right circumstances. Content that does not comply with this legal rule must be removed. For more information on this, see:

If you still have questions, there is the Teahouse, or you can click here to ask a question on your talk page and someone will be along to answer it shortly. As you get started, you may find the pages below to be helpful.

I hope you enjoy editing Wikipedia! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Feel free to write a note on the bottom of my talk page if you want to get in touch with me. Again, welcome! — Diannaa (talk) 23:52, 25 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hi Ilovefood123123! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Hong Kong that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Adding references and figures are not minor.MarkH21talk 13:00, 30 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

My apologies, I never realised the actual meaning for "minor edits", please forgive me as I am rather new to editing the Wikipedia. I appreciate and thank you for pointing this out. Is there a way for me to revert this? Ilovefood123123 (talk) 13:05, 30 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It's okay! There is no way to change past edits, but you can avoid clicking on the "minor edit" box in the future unless the edit is just fixing a typo or something else mentioned at WP:MINOR. Thanks. — MarkH21talk 19:10, 30 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm Rusty Cat. I noticed that in this edit to Handover of Macau, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Rusty 🐈 15:08, 7 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at University of Hong Kong, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Magnolia677 (talk) 19:20, 18 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I was trying to rephrase and update information based on the Hong Kong University Students' Union page. I apologise as I wasn't quite sure how I could cite sources from that, could you please tell me how this is usually done or do I just copy the same sources from that page?
