Vogue
Cedric, first off, I sincerely pologise for my previous combative responses. It was uncalled-for, and unprofessional.
With respect, I don't understand the problem in this case? I am not trying to subvert your 'authority' or vandalize the page. The additions I made retain the Marie Antoinette comment by Clerk, and the citation, and the information I added regarding the Dangerous Liaisons connection is, I believe, properly cited to a reputable source (TV Interview.com), which contains excerpts from first-person interviews with two of the dancers, including the choreographer, who performed with Madonna at the VMAs. I believe that illustrates that the direct inspiration for the theme was Dangerous Liaisons, and that this information also makes sense of the fact that Madonna was wearing the Glenn Close gown from the movie.
Would you please clarify why you believe that is original research? The edit was made in good faith, it includes information that I believe is relevant to that section, and it is at least adequately cited, no less so than the Shep Pettibone reference in the section on the recording. But if it requires additional citations to meet with your approval, I will gladly do my best to obtain them.
I'm sorry if I didn't add individual citations for last par about Vogue being performed on the various tours and will happily do so if you require it, but since I linked to each of those individual tour pages, where the dates/setlists are cited, I didn't think it would be necessary to cite each item on the Vogue page.
Also, FYI, I summarised that info from the main wiki page on Madonna live performances but re those various tour setlists, I checked the citation link to the tour info on Madonna's official page, but it seems to be now ainvalid, and it appears that those pages have evidently either been moved or taken down, however I will locate other reputable sources if required.
Thanks for your time Dunks (talk) 13:16, 16 July 2018 (UTC)
- @Dunks58: I did not revert your whole addition, if you see the history. It was only a part that I reverted which came in your editing history as completely unsourced. See here, the last para, starting from
In concert, Madonna has included "Vogue" ...
, is not present sourced anywhere and is a new addition. That's the only portion I have removed. And to do that first I had to remove the whole bunch then re-add all your good edits to the article, where I commented that "it was WP:OR for the last para". Hope that clears it up. —IB [ Poke ] 13:25, 16 July 2018 (UTC)
Ahh ok I think I realise the problem ... the "Marie Antoinette performance" bit? Sorry, I didn't think I would need to cite that separately, since the author calls it that at the start of the TV Interview article. I was just trying to demonstrate that the allusion has currency, even if it is innaccurate. Sorry about that. Dunks (talk) 13:26, 16 July 2018 (UTC)
Ok no worries, Cedric, sorry, but is it really necessary to cite that kind of thing if it's just a short summary like that, and links to wiki pages where it is cited? Also, I just checked again and the original tour info pages on the official madonna site all appear to be gone now. Is it OK to link to archived versions? Cheers, Dunks (talk) 13:30, 16 July 2018 (UTC)
- You have to always cite them and I would say the archived webpages are good info for this. I know Madonna.com has suddenly removed all of this old tour page links so Internet Archive is our only hope. —IB [ Poke ] 13:38, 16 July 2018 (UTC)
Citation advice
Quick question if I may please, Cedric? I'm working on another article (Fable Records) and I have just found a very valuable 2010 video interview on a local community TV show in which the label owner explains how his business was affected by punitive action taken against his company by a group of major labels during a big music industry dispute in 1970. Anyway, the interview segment is on YouTube so I would like to know if I should cite it just as a YouTube link, or cite the original show appropriately, or both?
Thank you Dunks (talk) 13:45, 16 July 2018 (UTC)
- @Dunks58:, you can always use {{Cite AV media notes}} which is recommended as YouTube videos most of the times are copyright infringements and not uploaded by the original broadcaster or the person who created it. —IB [ Poke ] 13:47, 16 July 2018 (UTC)
Thank you!

Hello, Cedric! How are you? I write to you this message to wonder if this page is trustworthy to use it in an article of the Wikipedia in Spanish. It is alike pages like Metacritic and AnyDecentMusic?, but really I don't know how true it is that page. What do you think about it? Thank you so much :). MadonnaFan (talk) 00:56, 19 July 2018 (UTC)
- Hi @MadonnaFan: Album of the Year can be used as an External link in articles. —IB [ Poke ] 04:34, 19 July 2018 (UTC)
MDNA album cover
I think the cover for MDNA album article that should be used is the standard one, not the deluxe one. Because almost every article on the Wikipedia that is about music albums has the standard edition cover. KARANSUTTA (talk) 22:45, 18 July 2018 (UTC)
- Not really. The deluxe edition was the one first released and received enough third party notability than the standard one. Same for Rebel Heart. —IB [ Poke ] 04:35, 19 July 2018 (UTC)

TFL notification
Hi, IndianBio. I'm just posting to let you know that Madonna albums discography – a list that you have been heavily involved with – has been chosen to appear on the Main Page as Today's featured list for August 17. The TFL blurb can be seen here. If you have any thoughts on the selection, please post them on my talk page or at TFL talk. Regards, Giants2008 (Talk) 21:19, 27 July 2018 (UTC)
Madonna
Hi Indian. Hey Bibliography of works on Madonna looks fine. Congrats, you really did a great job :) BTW you may consider improve Cultural impact of Madonna when you are available. That's could be great! Just in case with the Spanish article you can find and have another perspective and references. And of course, neutralize it in accordance with Wikipedia's rules here. Anyway have a great time, nice to see you. Cheers - Chrishonduras (talk) 04:41, 29 July 2018 (UTC)
- @Chrishonduras: nice to hear back from you too. I will work on the Tribute album list first and there are other challenging lists also. —IB [ Poke ] 04:39, 1 August 2018 (UTC)
French chart
Regarding your edit here, if this isn't the combined French Chart, then what is it? Snuggums (talk / edits) 16:27, 1 August 2018 (UTC)
- @SNUGGUMS:, this one is the actual combined chart. For some reason Hung Medien still hasn't updated their site and publishes the Download chart, where Perfect Illusion reached #1, not on the combined chart. Hung Medien updated the Spanishcharts.com site as you can see Perfect Illusion is no longer listed at #1 there, rather at #34. —IB [ Poke ] 16:50, 1 August 2018 (UTC)
- Let's hope they update the main combined chart sooner rather than later. Snuggums (talk / edits) 19:09, 1 August 2018 (UTC)

Hello,
KatieKat44Judas (talk) 04:51, 6 August 2018 (UTC) I am not wrong at Perfect Illusion's peak. You website claims that it debuted at #1, but it says it only peaked at #34, same with The Cure and Million Reasons, how about you pay attention to these statistics and not try to ban me for doing the right thing.
- The sources clearly mention the correct peaks which is reflected in the chart table. Don't add false peaks ever. —IB [ Poke ] 04:52, 6 August 2018 (UTC)
KatieKat44Judas (talk) 04:58, 6 August 2018 (UTC) Please pay attention, I'm not adding false peaks, you are. It clearly states on your website that Perfect Illusion entered the Spain charts on 18/09/16 at (Position 1) which is peak #1. I'm not wrong, if 2 sources of websites say it peaked at #1, that is more reliable, read carefully, Look at it yourself, same with The Cure and Million Reasons.
- Nowhere in the "Perfect Illusion" article it states that it debuted at #1. Stop bothering me with useless information. Also Spanishcharts gives the chart trajectory below showing "18/09/2016: N 34". What it shows at the top no one cares. —IB [ Poke ] 05:01, 6 August 2018 (UTC)
KatieKat44Judas (talk) 21:56, 7 August 2018 (UTC) Entry: 18/09/2016 (Position 1), there is proof...No one cares, then why have useless information on a website? That is so unreliable, acharts i way more reliable.
- Go take it to WP:GOODCHARTS and stop bombarding my talk page. —IB [ Poke ] 04:09, 8 August 2018 (UTC)

Accusations about personal behavior that lack evidence are considered personal attacks...
Please revert yourself or provide a diff providing evidence to back this accusation you made: "You are explicitly including a link to a download site which is prohibited and promotes copyright infringement" (diff). I'm doing no such thing. Are you saying bundles.bittorrent.com is 'a download site which is prohibited and promotes copyright infringement'? I don't think it is. We link to https://bundles.bittorrent.com/bundles/halo-circus via Halo Circus. We link to https://bundles.bittorrent.com/bundles/saudade via Chino Moreno. How about some evidence that bundles.bittorrent.com is nontheless prohibited?--50.201.195.170 (talk) 22:20, 9 August 2018 (UTC)
- Yes you are providing links to BitTorrent download and yes BitTorrent is a torrent site where any number of downloads can happen and copyright infringement is a serious issue. Get over your self. —IB [ Poke ] 04:12, 10 August 2018 (UTC)
The Greatest Hit (song)
Oh, please do explain how WP:BRD applies to me and not to you. You are seeking the change by making it unitalicised. The one seeking the change gets consensus. That's what BRD says. It is not your article. You act like every Goddamn article even slightly related to Madonna on Wikipedia is your property. They're not, they never will be, so stop acting like it. Don't insinuate others act like they own pages when you do it with every artist you stan. Revert this talk page message all you like. Ss112 04:39, 10 August 2018 (UTC)
- My dear Ss112, it was never italicized in the page. It was you who italicized firstly, so how would now BRD apply here? I never said I own any article here, but your argumentative and trolling around my edits are extremely annoying as fuck! —IB [ Poke ] 04:42, 10 August 2018 (UTC)
- Yeah, it's been stable for months. Reverting a months- or years-old edit when nobody bothered about it in the meantime (including you, all that time) is not how BRD applies to me and not you. If that were the case, then BRD would never apply to anything or wouldn't be valid, because everything on an article was added at some point. WP:Silence is consensus. Ss112 04:50, 10 August 2018 (UTC)
- My point is why you are being so anal about a simple edit like that? Do you really have that beef with me that you need to monitor a good faith edit like that? A website usually appears non-italicized in probably more than 90% of articles in Wikipedia. You suddenly brought up WP:BRD over something so simple. —IB [ Poke ] 05:00, 10 August 2018 (UTC)
- LMAO! Now you had to go ahead and mail your friend so that the user can come and revert me. Pathetic! —IB [ Poke ] 05:18, 10 August 2018 (UTC)
- Uh, most articles I see keep website/work italicised, as it should be, because most are publications and even if not, it's our style guide to italicise websites. And I message other users about disputes via email quite often, and vice versa. This was no exception. Ss112 05:22, 10 August 2018 (UTC)
- I told another user months back: similar things have already been discussed at:
- Help talk:Citation Style 1/Archive 9#Italicization of websites in citations
- Help talk:Citation Style 1/Archive 9#Request for Comments: Italics or Non-Italics in "website" field
- Help talk:Citation Style 1/Archive 23#Adding a "disable italics on work" parameter? Ss112 05:24, 10 August 2018 (UTC)
- That does not excuse the fact that instead of discussing here with the links maybe, you chose to run around to another user. I lost my respect for you as an editor today. Just don't bother posting in my talk page from now on. Any interaction here I will revert completely. —IB [ Poke ] 05:35, 10 August 2018 (UTC)

Lady Gaga
Hello and thanks for your message! However, I believe the "Tours" section of the Lady Gaga main article should be updated to include the upcoming residency concert Enigma. The following articles of artists who have had, or currently have residency shows include them on the main page:
- Shania Twain
- Rod Stewart
- Celine Dion
- Toni Braxton
- Bette Midler
- Backstreet Boys
- Gwen Stefani
- Jennifer Lopez
- Cher
- Britney Spears
- Mariah Carey
In the case of Cher, Britney Spears & Mariah Carey, the category type is "Concerts" with "Tours" and "Residencies" listed as subcategories. Perhaps this may be an option? In any case, considering the list of artists who include residencies on their main page, it is likely readers will be expecting to see it and look for it on the Lady Gaga page.
Thank you MCMCTT (talk) 14:29, 10 August 2018 (UTC)

DYK for Rescue Me (Madonna song)
On 16 August 2018, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Rescue Me (Madonna song), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Madonna's (pictured) 1991 song "Rescue Me" made the highest debut for a song on the Billboard Hot 100 chart since the Beatles' "Let It Be" 21 years earlier? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Rescue Me (Madonna song).
