Hello! I am having trouble linking pages and adding content. I'm not a technical person, so this is a bit difficult for me. • Exactly what is your problem? Do you mean the messages being placed on your talk page? In that case, the problem is that you are creating pages on things that do not have coverage in reliable sources and therefore are not notable enough for inclusion on Wikipedia. See WP:Notability as well as the book guideline I linked to on Scattered Thoughts from my Broken Brain. Greetings. I was about to try my first PROD on the self-published e-book Scattered Thoughts from my Broken Brain, when looking over the article history showed that you had already prodded it once, and the tag was removed with the comment "guy's won 2 awards a total of 4 times". Since these alleged awards only turn up on Google in the context of the self-publishing author's own promotional materials, I was wondering if I shouldn't try my first AfD instead. Hi. The way I read arguments for speedy removal do not apply.

It said: "This criterion applies only to articles about web content and to articles about people, organizations, and individual animals themselves, not to articles about their books, albums, software, or other creative works." In the case of a publishing house (including publishing educational works) it is pretty hard to distinguish between the organisation and its output. Its very name is the output, it is about the creative works. I think the goal of A7 is not to have bogus articles about pets and not-so-important clubs and stuff, but a publisher that can be bought at amazon and jwpepper, doesn't qualify for that. Category:Infectious disease journals

Hi, almost all microbiology journals will, at least some of the time, cover infectious diseases. Given that, what's the difference between the category "Microbiology journals" and the cat "Infectious disease journals}}? --Randykitty (talk) 23:33, 21 December 2014 (UTC)

• I would think that the infectious disease cat should contain journals whose names make it clear that they primarily focus on infectious disease, like Clinical Infectious Diseases, as opposed to just some of the time like "almost all microbiology journals". • So the distinction you make is between journals that most of the time focus on infectious disease (but not all of the time, as even these journals will often cover more basic science subjects) and those journals that cover infectious diseases less often. I find that a rather subtle difference and not very useful either. Problematic examples: HIV/AIDS – Research and Palliative Care (title refers to an infectious disease, but also clearly indicates that it is mainly research oriented); AIDS Research and Human Retroviruses (research oriented, but about an infectious agent); Infection, Genetics and Evolution (about infections, but not obviously clinically oriented); and many more in the current Virology and Microbiology journals cats. --Randykitty (talk) 14:11, 22 December 2014 (UTC)

• Okay, so the AIDS-oriented journals you mentioned above should, in my opinion, go in the category I created for such journals, Category:HIV/AIDS journals. But with regard to "Infection, Genetics and Evolution", I think this shows that you are right and that the distinction between microbiology and infectious disease as fields is a lot fuzzier than I thought it was when I created this category. I couldn't find any through a Google search, and in fact there were only 30 Google results in total, so this club doesn't appear to be notable. Maybe I'm missing something, though.   • To be honest, it is helpful just that you are an objective participant. I have a couple of guys who have been bullying me on there for almost a year and vehemently want to avoid any mention of these specific adverse events in the article. If you don't mind, would you please take a look again as a new issue has emerged. The articles currently says the adverse events only apply to the 5mg dose but I have found several meta-studies that demonstrate there are adverse events for finasteride at both doses. Homeopathy

Hello Everymorning, Since it appears you are a busy person, I will be curt: I am new to the behind the scenes wiki-pedia world so please don't expect me to know all the nuances.

I think you have an interest in the homeopathy article; if not please don't read any further and disregard this post; no answer is necessary.

In the interest of improving the content by adding an element that is not discussed, I bring up the following for consideration:

Yes, there is no scientific basis for showing that the homeopathic process for selecting ingredients and preparing homeopathic drugs is based on sound reasoning; BUT, if I randomly concoct a large enough sample of homeopathic remedies, there is a finite probability that some of them will actually work. I think this is indeed the case and anyone who states that because there is no basis of science in the homeopathic process, none of the homeopathic drugs can have any efficacy is not exercising logical thought processes. This aspect of the discussion has been left out of the article. I also have not seen it discussed anywhere else; but I think to have a complete and unbiased article something should be said of this.

A CASE IN POINT:

The December issue of the Life Extension Foundation's magazine has a summary of the studies done on the concept that taking Zinc supplements may prevent or speed up the cure of the common cold. Here is a link to the article: < http://www.lef.org//Magazine/2014/12/Snails-Pace/Page-01 > The article does present some scienctific studies that do show a cause and effect between Zinc and cold prevention.

If you read the article and delve into the footnotes you will find further sustaining data on how the Zinc ions travel to the sinuses from the mouth. See George Eby's article on the mouth to nose closed electric circuit: < http://www.researchgate.net/profile/George_Eby/publications > Eby's article presents a theory with substantiating data to explain how Zinc ions can propagate from a lozenge in the mouth to the nasal passages via an electromotive force that naturally exists in the human body and propels the Zinc ions out of the mouth and into the nasal passages.

THE ABOVE TWO REFERENCES present some evidence from a scientific point of view that Zinc lozenges can and do assist in preventing and curing the common cold. The Zi-cam product is mentioned in the wikepedia article; but not in a positive light. In addition, Life Extension is now marketing a Zinc lozenge as a cold remedy. At the insistence of our daughter, my wife and I have recently experimented with Zi-cam to prevent colds and so far the results appear to be consistent with the allegation that if taken promptly and consistently it works. ALTHOUGH HEAD COLDS ARE NOT USUALLY FATAL, THEY ARE A LARGE NUISANCE TO SOCIETY WITH LOST WORK AND IN GENERAL FEELING BAD FROM THE SYMPTOMS; FROM THAT ASPECT, I BELIEVE THIS TOPIC IS IMPORTANT ENOUGH TO WARRANT INCLUSION IN THE ARTICLE because as the article is currently written it implies that all homeopathic medicines are 100% impotent.

I am not an editor for Wiki-pedia but am hopeful that an editor with an interest in this article will read up on what I have presented above and unless there is good reason to reject this contention, incorporate the substance of this post into the wikipedia article. You posted to my Talk page stating that, in your opinion, my edits to the Marc Morano Wiki page were not "neutral". Please be more specific.

Every edit I had made was carefully supported by detailed references. Your removal of my edits has no such support. So please defend your position.

Your User Page indicates you are a college student, so it is likely you really don't know any science yet, and ought not be so quick to judge whether the edits of an adult are "neutral" or not. I graduated from one of the world's finest institutes of science and engineering, and have more than 40 years experience working in fields related to computer science, wireless telecommunications, satellite manufacturing, solar radiation and plasma physics, and the thermodynamics of energy transfer. I've also spent 15 years studying anthropogenic global warming in my spare time. Unlike you, I have developed the skills, tools, and mental capacity to investigate complex scientific problems over the course of my career, and my successful career in science proves the abilities I've acquired.

Of course, there is no such thing as "neutrality" on Wiki, so I reject your argument outright for removing my edits. In my opinion, the entire Wiki page on Morano had not been neutral until after my edits were added. For example, do you believe it was appropriate for someone to include recognition given (meant as an insult) in a section on "awards" received by Morano? If so, then perhaps you should check you own bias.

If you have no justification for your action, other than your opinion, then let's agree to let Wiki staff judge whether you or I possess more neutrality on this matter. • The sources you added (e.g. this blog) were not reliable, and some of the stuff you added was not sourced at all. The edit of yours that stated "the criticism leveled at Morano was originally made by Andrew Revkin, another left-wing journalist who has written for Time Magazine in the USA." is problematic as well because it appears to be original research. The source said more than just the following. "A day after the post a website called "Monsanto Collaborator" appeared online which listed the names of scientists and journalists who allegedly collaborate with the bio industry.[17]" The reader won't understand how a separate website is related without explaining the story behind it.

"NOTE: The GLP has been able to confirm that Adams is indeed the mastermind and financier behind the Monsanto Collaborator’s website. The story has now taken an even more bizarre twist, as Adams, facing multiple investigations from law enforcement officials, including the FBI, is now trying to make it appear that not only did he not oversee the project, but that it was a set up by Monsanto in a twisted plot to discredit anti-GMO critics."[2]

A page that was voted to be a redirect that someone restarted again

So I was looking over my watchlist and clicking on some of the pages, I found this one Doyle (band) which was voted to be a redirect last May to another page but in November someone decided to deleted the redirect and restart the page. I just moved it back to the redirect, what I'm wondering is what is the protocol when someone does that? Given that it was a few months ago that it happened, so yeah. Hi Everymorning, it seems like even your attempt to add a better source while also explaining on users talk page about not having anything to do with the paper in question has been completely ignored. The editor removed the reference, as well as other stuff which I reverted but has left another edit summary[7] directed at you accusing you of being an agent of the refered page, and calling your edit spam and needlessly derogatory information. This is getting ridiculous, I read the source you added and it's a newspaper article backing up exactly what the article is saying. You are being misled." The editor wants to meet in person or to telephone them, but that's not happening.
