I do not understand why with this edit you did not tag the article for deletion. We don't really have time to double control all reviewers' reviews, but this caught my eye. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 07:56, 16 May 2017 (UTC)

  • Typically when I'm doing new page patrol I decide whether to tag articles for speedy/PROD. It didn't seem like that article warranted being tagged for either, as there was clearly a credible claim of significance ("one of America's foremost writers and analysts on energy, technology, and foreign affairs.") I also added a link to Martin's MIT Technology Review page for verifiability. Everymorning (talk) 11:31, 16 May 2017 (UTC)

New Page Review - Newsletter No.4

Hello IntoThinAir,

Since rolling out the right in November, just 6 months ago, we now have 811 reviewers, but the backlog is still mysteriously growing fast. If every reviewer did just 55 reviews, the 22,000 backlog would be gone, in a flash, schwoop, just like that!

But do remember: Rather than speed, quality and depth of patrolling and the use of correct CSD criteria are essential to good reviewing. Do not over-tag. Make use of the message feature to let the creator know about your maintenance tags. See the tutorial again HERE. Get help HERE.

Stay up to date with recent new page developments and have your say, read THIS PAGE.

G12 cleanup

Just as an FYI, when cleaning up an article that has been tagged for G12, the history that is a copyvio needs to be deleted via revision deletion after you have fixed the article. You can do that by placing Template:Copyvio-revdel on the article and an administrator will come by later and delete the revisions. TonyBallioni (talk) 22:37, 29 May 2017 (UTC)

BLP Prod on Kriesha Tu

Hi Everymorning, I had to remove a blp prod on the article as it wasn't an valid prod. BLP Prod can only applied if they type of information to verify the existence of person. Unfortunately the article has an external links, which is the first sign that a BLP prod can't applied. If any of the links in External Links sections work, then BLP Prod is not valid. It is also worth doing a search for sources. There is a drive on Wikipedia to address WP:BIAS gender gaps, the lack of women article. I think it is a good idea to look for sources, as they seems to be fair chunk of them which satisfies WP:BIO. If you already know all this, then please ignore. I tend to rabbit on sometimes. scope_creep (talk) 00:35, 5 June 2017 (UTC)

Preserving citations

Whenever you delete material from an article, as you did at Voter ID laws in the United States, it is important to examine the material for named references, such as <ref name="RC">{{Cite journal|title=Identifying Election Fraud Using Orphan and Low Propensity Voters|url=http://apr.sagepub.com/content/42/2/311 |journal=American Politics Research|date=March 1, 2014|issn= 1532-673X|pages=311–37|volume= 42|issue= 2|doi= 10.1177/1532673X13498411|language=en|first=Ray|last=Christensen|first2=Thomas J.|last2=Schultz}}</ref>

When named references are found, it is important to go into edit mode for the entire article and search for the reference name anywhere in the article. If the name is found anywhere that is not going to be deleted, the definition of the reference must be moved to one of the instances that will remain in the article.

When searching, it is important to search for the name only, since it may be written somewhat differently in different locations, e.g. name="RC" name = RC name=RC. Jc3s5h (talk) 12:26, 9 June 2017 (UTC)

Quick CSD tags

Please try to avoid tagging new articles quickly, such as FylthyUnderground, which you tagged a minute after creation. It's best to leave them for 10 minutes unless they are grossly inappropriate (copyright violations, attack pages, etc). This helps ensure we don't bite the newbies or run off someone before they continue developing a promising but currently incomplete article. ~ Rob13Talk 16:26, 13 June 2017 (UTC)

The article COVFEFE Act has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not assertion of notability in sources provided

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Racial discrimination

Hi I see you blanked a section on racial discrimination in the article on racism and left a brief edit summary explaining that you intend to move the deleted material to a new page. Rather than revert this bold edit, I thought it best to let you finish what you are doing. Suggestion: Could you perhaps leave a brief summary of your intention on the article's talk page so that we have a record of these actions as well as a more detailed explanation which may allow other editors to get involved with what you are doing? Many thanks Edaham (talk) 01:05, 14 June 2017 (UTC)

Hi, doing good work here. Keep it up, FYI I gave up reducing the original section User:RoyBoy/sandbox/ABC history a while back; maybe I'll re-engage soon. One note for your current section, "differential misclassification" has never been demonstrated and if I recall correctly it has been shown to occur roughly the same between case and control ABC subjects. Can't recall specifics right now, pun unintended. - RoyBoy 23:34, 16 June 2017 (UTC)

Your edit on the "Abortion-Breast-Cancer Hypothesis" page

Hi there. Your recent edit on the Abortion–breast cancer hypothesis was based on a PRIMARY SOURCE--the well-known Melbye study published in New England Journal of Medicine. It's a fine study, but still a PRIMARY SOURCE. According to Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources (medicine): "Primary sources should generally not be used for medical content".

Feel free to replace the substance of your edit, which is helpful, if you can find a more appropriate source for it, such as a review or a meta-analysis.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on James Allsup, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, such as at Articles for Deletion. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discusion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. What are the requirements for the right? Quinton Feldberg (talk) 23:37, 2 September 2017 (UTC)
According to WP:NPPR, they are as follows: "Editors will normally need to have been registered users of the English Wikipedia for at least 90 days, and have made at least 500 not-deleted edits to mainspace. They will also need to be able to demonstrate from their editing history that they have sufficient experience, and have the ability to communicate in an appropriate manner with new users." Everymorning (talk) 00:01, 3 September 2017 (UTC)
What type of experience are they looking for? What am I able to do, without the right, to demonstrate/gain experience? Quinton Feldberg (talk) 00:04, 3 September 2017 (UTC)

I would recommend making more mainspace edits, reverting vandalism, and other constructive contributions to demonstrate that you understand how WP processes and systems work. Everymorning (talk) 00:08, 3 September 2017 (UTC)

I'm at about 24K (14K mainspace) edits right now. Should I wait until ~20K mainspace? Quinton Feldberg (talk) 00:24, 3 September 2017 (UTC)
You've been an editor here for about a year, and you've made way more than the required edits to mainspace. • The new page backlog is currently at 14304 pages. We have worked hard to decrease from over 22,000, but more hard work is needed! Please consider reviewing even just a few pages a day.
  • Currently there are 532 pages in the backlog that were created by non-autoconfirmed users before WP:ACTRIAL. The NPP project is undertaking a drive to clear these pages from the backlog before they hit the 90 day Google index point. Please consider reviewing a few today!

Technology update:

  • The Wikimedia Foundation is currently working on creating a new filter for page curation that will allow new page patrollers to filter by extended confirmed status. For more information see: T175225

General project update:

  • On 14 September 2017 the English Wikipedia began the autoconfirmed article creation trial. For a six month period, creation of articles in the mainspace of the English Wikipedia will be restricted to users with autoconfirmed status. New users who attempt article creation will now be redirected to a newly designed landing page.
  • Before clicking on a reference or external link while reviewing a page, please be careful that the site looks trustworthy. If you have a question about the safety of clicking on a link, it is better not to click on it.
  • To keep up with the latest conversation on New Pages Patrol or to ask questions, you can go to Wikipedia talk:New pages patrol/Reviewers and add it to your watchlist.

DYK for Georgia House Bill 87

On 26 September 2017, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Georgia House Bill 87, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the anti-illegal immigration bill Georgia House Bill 87, which was signed into law in 2011, was partly based on Arizona's SB 1070 immigration bill? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Georgia House Bill 87. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Georgia House Bill 87), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

RationalWiki-Bruce Bartlett

I'm not sure if you got my message on your RW page, so I'm reposting it here. The vote was leaning strongly towards deletion, so I moved it into my userspace until it's ready to reenter mainspace. If you want to pop around and edit it, you know where to find me. Hope all is going well, RoninMacbeth (talk) 20:29, 30 September 2017 (UTC)

New Page Reviewer

What do you think my chances are at this point? Quinton Feldberg (talk) 00:39, 12 October 2017 (UTC)

They seem to be better, but there are still a couple things on your talk page I'm a bit concerned about (e.g. the declined speedy of a user's talk page, though that's pretty minor; also the message about your apparently mistaken deletion of content from The Christian O’Connell Breakfast Show, which you subsequently restored). I think you'd probably still get the right if you asked for it now and are more mature than last time, though. Everymorning (talk) 01:34, 12 October 2017 (UTC)

The article Christopher Shaw (neuroscientist) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Seems to only be known for some vaccine studies that are in the news now, but most of his research isn't discussed by RSs. I suspect he will be non notable once the news coverage fades.
