Kanye West

[edit]

Hi, regarding those comments he made, please see WP:BLP and WP:RECENTISM. It's hardly notable or controversial and it has no long-term historical significance on his career. It's more Wikinews material than encyclopedic stuff. Also, Urban dictionary is not a reliable source, thanks. Spellcast (talk) 05:04, 24 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Barack Obama edits

[edit]

Please leave it alone, or take it to the talk page. Thanks. -- Rick Block (talk) 03:46, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Barack Obama, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you.

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did to Barack Obama. Your edits appeared to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you.

Barack Obama

[edit]

Please do not make contentious edits, particularly not to the Barack Obama article. The editor reverting your first edit referred you to the talk page, where you can see extensive discussion of the matter of Obama's racial heritage. This is a particularly sensitive and important topic, in a prominent article, where it has been very hard to enforce stability. Given all of these factors, people will be particularly sensitive to revert warring, as a result of which you could potentially be blocked temporarilyfrom further editing for a short period without the usual amount of advance warning, so as to prevent disruption to the article. Consider this a friendly notice - I agree with the sentiment I think must be behind the edit, and am merely warning you that repeating it could be a problem. Thanks, Wikidemo (talk) 03:49, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oops. Sorry to duplicate another editor's notice above - that was a 2-for-1 caution I guess. Wikidemo (talk) 03:50, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Barack Obama. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. Beve (talk) 04:06, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't understand who the hell people think they are with this? Do i have a right to start telling someone of white appearance that they're indian? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.97.78.171 (talk) 12:50, 1 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You have been temporarily blocked from editing Wikipedia as a result of your disruptive edits. You are free to make constructive edits after the block has expired, but please note that vandalism (including page blanking or addition of random text), spam, deliberate misinformation, privacy violations, personal attacks; and repeated, blatant violations of our policies concerning neutral point of view and biographies of living persons will not be tolerated. -- Rick Block (talk) 04:10, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

September 2008

[edit]

The recent edit you made to Barack Obama has been reverted, as it appears to intentionally introduce incorrect information. Please do not continue to do this; such edits are considered vandalism. Thank you. StaticGull  Talk  12:54, 1 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits

[edit]

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 13:13, 1 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Barack Obama Article Probation

[edit]

Thank you for your contributions to the encyclopedia! In case you are not already aware, an article to which you have recently contributed, Article, is on article probation. A detailed description of the terms of article probation may be found at Talk:Barack Obama/Article probation. Also note that the terms of some article probations extend to related articles and their associated talk pages.

The above is a templated message. Please accept it as a routine friendly notice, not as a claim that there is any problem with your edits. Thank you. -- Brothejr (talk) 13:17, 1 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not vandalize pages, as you did with this edit to European American. If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing. It Is Me Here (talk) 13:31, 1 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is your last warning. You will be blocked from editing the next time you vandalize a page, as you did with this edit to European American. StaticGull  Talk  13:31, 1 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

how dare you say that was vandalising? It was perfectly acceptable for Obama to be put there, it met the description, therefore NOT vandalism, but establishing the contrast between specific terms such as european american and white, caucasian etc

Speedy deletion of Afro-Carribean American

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Afro-Carribean American requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Tohd8BohaithuGh1 (talk) 10:45, 6 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Colin Powell

[edit]

African American in the context of Colin Powell refers to his race not ethnicity. Please refrain from removing accurate sources and replacing your opinionated views with no sources. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sourcechecker419 (talkcontribs) 17:11, 10 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well how the hell does that make any sense? How is African American a 'race' when it applies to people like colin powell that are probably more than 50% european, it isn't my bloody opinion its fact. That is simply incorrect popular opinion that he is african american. It's like how Lewis hamilton has been refered to in american as African American! I mean how the hell does that make sense, he's from the UK, has one caucasian parent, one parent from Greneda... the truth is Anerican definitions are MESSED UP! (Invertedzero (talk) 18:13, 16 September 2008 (UTC))[reply]

Lewis Hamilton is not known very well in the U.S. be he isnt refered to as African American in the U.S., hes refered to as Black British. Citizens of the U.S with sub-saharan African ancestry is either African American or Black American. I didnt make up the U.S. government terminology on race/ethnicity, I only abide by it. Powell is widely known in the U.S. as African American. He ethnically identifies as African American in all of his public speeches and writings and has never alluded to having anything to do with the Carribean. If your not American I really dont see why this should even concern you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sourcechecker419 (talkcontribs) 21:26, 18 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It should concern me because it has do to with people's rights which i can identify with. If noone tries to stand up to represent or change something, nothing ever will. Invertedzero (talk) 21:51, 10 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add nonsense to Wikipedia, as you did to the Luis Alberto Suárez page. Such edits are considered vandalism and quickly undone. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox instead. Thank you. Oldelpaso (talk) 21:36, 2 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
