Quick note about "Jewelry Allergy (Nickel Allergy)"
[edit]Hello Iramuthusamy, and again welcome to Wikipedia! The article you started, Jewelry Allergy (Nickel Allergy) might possibly have duplicated some of the content of Allergic contact dermatitis. It may also be perhaps better titled as a more succinct title like Nickel Jewelry Allergy or similar.

[edit]Muthusamy R 18:13, 1 February 2012 (UTC) SarahStierch (talk) I fully agree with your proposal of merging Jewelry Allergy (Nickel Allergy)with another article. Now I realize that the article is not fully following the conventions of wikipedia. On the other hand writing articles for wikipedia and linking with citations are new to me and needs some focus and experience. I hope that I will gain this focus over a period of time. For that I have write. Thank you for your concern.

- I have edited the article Five Base Yoga and improved the content. You may review once again and decide accordingly. Iramuthusamy (talk) 16:06, 15 April 2012 (UTC)
- I have tried to help out with the Five Base Yoga article and to avoid it's deletion. Now I have appealed it's deletion and it is currently under a second discussion at deletion review Wikipedia:Deletion_review/Log/2012_April_26. There seem to be a problem with the name and I think you could provide help with choosing a better name. It has been suggested that the article may be merged with some similar articles. I think your article now has better coverage then the others but if you looked at them you could advise us about the best option.
I hope to see you constribute to more articles on yoga and your interest in the future BO; talk 13:51, 28 April 2012 (UTC)

Welcome to WP Hinduism
[edit]Hi Iramuthusam, welcome to WP Hinduism. To contribute to the project, choose any article about Hindu deity or temple or text or philosophy or spiritual leader and improve it by expanding it, adding references, cleaning up the language or any other way you can think of. May be you can create an article about a significant temple or text or saint, if Wikipedia does not have one already. Let me know your interests. I can guide to some article that needs help. Feel free to contact me on my talk for any queries. --Redtigerxyz Talk 17:33, 19 April 2012 (UTC)

However my areas of interest include Siddhas of Tamil Nadu, Saiva Siddantha including fourteen Meykanda Sastras written mainly in 13th and 14th century, Saivite temples, Vaishnavite temples, Hindu village deities Kula devata of Kongu region in Tamil nadu. I am awaiting for your kind guidance and support. Iramuthusamy (talk) 17:56, 19 April 2012 (UTC)
- There are lots of red links (uncreated articles) in Shiva_Temples_of_Tamil_Nadu. May be you can start there. OR you can search for your favourite temple or Tamil village deity and expand the article if it exists or create it if it does not. Please go through
Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources, so that you can understand what references should be used in Wikipedia. Also, if English references exist, they are preferable than Tamil ones. - Out of the 63, only few have articles of their own. They are significant Tamil figures which should have articles IMO. See Nayanars article. If the list is not a blue link, an article does not exist. You can create articles for them.--Redtigerxyz Talk 18:08, 19 April 2012 (UTC)

Redtigerxyz Talk As suggested by you I have edited an article on Arivattaya Nayanar in my sandbox. Kindly help me to get away the in-coherence and whatever you instruct is a tutorial for me. Kindly oblige. Iramuthusamy (talk) 15:03, 21 April 2012 (UTC)
- It is a decent article. Gets a little clean up. Please move to mainspace, that is, create article Arivattaya Nayanar. Also, if you want me to look at something or ask some question, please leave a note on my talk page (Click Talk in my signature and then "New Section" at top of the page). Thanks. --Redtigerxyz Talk 14:36, 22 April 2012 (UTC)
- Few things about your Arivattaya Nayanar draft:
- Ref 3: Any wikipedia article (e.g Periya Puranam) can not be used as a reference. Read Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources for quality of references desired
- Stick to 1 spelling Nayanar for consistency with other Wikipedia articles. Same applies to Shaivism v/s Saivite
- We do not use honorifics like Lord. See Wikipedia:Honorifics. Lord Shiva -> Shiva.

[edit]- Hereafter I will follow your instructions whenever I want your help through your 'TALK' page.Regarding Arivattaya Nayanar you have made an encouraging review. It is a boost for me. Kindly keep helping me by reviewing my future writings. Iramuthusamy (talk) 13:36, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
- Let me know if you need any more help. WikiProject Hinduism needs more enthusiastic users like you. Also, 1 more link for internal links use [[Arivattaya Nayanar]] and for external ones use [http://www.google.com/]--Redtigerxyz Talk 15:53, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
A template on Nayanars edited by me is submitted for your perusal and review. Iramuthusamy (talk) 16:57, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
- Remove numbers and descriptions like a woman, Chera King, popularly known as . The suffix nayanar can be dropped in names and I would prefer we use Nayanar for consistency with article title. --Redtigerxyz Talk 17:28, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
Few more observations:
- Link an article only once in an article. Twice if very long article. See WP:OVERLINK
- Italicize book names and jargon
- Do not italicize place names
- Avoid name of article in section heading. See WP:HEAD
- In Indian articles, we generally use Indian English spellings, which are closer to British English.
- Some sentences repeat a point, which is redundant. "he remained as a faithful devotee to Shiva" and "his devotion remained intact" is the same thing. Read what you have written again and check if you can remove some words
- Do not start new paras with pronouns like he
- Avoid 1/2 para sections as much as possible.
I have made some edits to the article, rewording some sentences and reorganizing the sections in accordance of above points. --Redtigerxyz Talk 18:01, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
- Noted your observations with thanks. After your reorganization the article looks fine tuned. Thank you very much for the guidance and support. I have reorganized the template as instructed by you. Iramuthusamy (talk) 18:10, 23 April 2012 (UTC)

Request for Review REdtigerxyz 6
[edit]- I have edited another article on Aiyadigal Kadavarkon Nayanar in my sandbox. Kindly help me in reviewing the article and I will move it to the main once you approve. Kindly oblige. Thank you once again Regards Iramuthusamy (talk) 18:11, 25 April 2012 (UTC)
- Pallava spelling is inconsistent
- Ref 4 is unreliable and should be removed. It is a blog that any one can edit. Tomorrow someone can add in it that Aiyadigal Kadavarkon Nayanar had a son called Redtiger, which is false. I removed such a ref from Arivattaya Nayanar too.
- Categories: You should not parent categories. Nayanar saints is part of
- Saivite religious figures, in turn part of Hindu religious figures, Shaivites, which in turn of Shaivism.
- Hindu saints
- Bhakti movement
- Tamil poets
So none of these should be used. Only Nayanar saints is sufficient. Please do not wait for my review, before you move an article to main space. I can review it in main space too. :) --Redtigerxyz Talk 15:57, 26 April 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you once again for the encouraging review and support. I am far better now than before. However I may need more refinements and I am sure that I will achieve the same with your guidance and support. One more article on Dandi Adigal Nayanar is ready and I will move it to the main space today and submit the same for your review. Kindly oblige. Thank you once again. Regards. Iramuthusamy (talk) 16:26, 26 April 2012 (UTC)
- Sure. However I will appreciate if you leave the link on my talk page, rather than a talkback. Saves lazy me a few clicks :) --Redtigerxyz Talk 16:29, 26 April 2012 (UTC)

Observations:
- st, as in 31st, is not used in superscript.4
- Linking: Please do not link a link like Shiva numerous times in an article. Once is good and twice if it is a very long article. --Redtigerxyz Talk 18:05, 27 April 2012 (UTC)
- Dandi Adigal Nayanar is a problem as it reads as an anti-Jain propaganda. Compare "Jain monks kept on irritating the saint with their foul words" and "Nayanar gave a fitting reply by addressing them as ignorant people." The article glorifies Dandi Adigal and ridicules Jains. The article needs to be rewritten to soften the tone. --Redtigerxyz Talk 16:50, 1 May 2012 (UTC)
- I have curtailed and reworded the article. The tags were removed by the user who put it. Will take a look at other articles tomorrow or day after. --Redtigerxyz Talk 18:13, 1 May 2012 (UTC)
As you write more articles, I want to introduce more concepts slowly. Some more observations:
- The article's wording was very close to the reference. Please avoid this Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. In avoid this, read the reference, keep it aside and put it in your own words.
- Though we revere our Hindu deities and admire the saints, we should not write the article as if written by a "devotee". The tone should not be of devotee literature, but should be encyclopaedic. Just state the facts without glorification.
- Avoid 1 para sections as in Kanampulla Nayanar.
I could not get time to review the other 3 articles. Can you please go over them again and implement the above? Most probably, I will be able to check them only over the weekend.--Redtigerxyz Talk 18:37, 2 May 2012 (UTC)

St.Thomas, who as per the Acts of Thomas, a Christian text, has died in an Indo-Parthian kingdom. But South Indian Christians have propagated a legend that he came to South India and got killed by a Hindu Brahmana. This legend is then used to convert Hindus in Tamilnadu into Christianity. Ishwar Sharan has written extensively about it here

- (talk page stalker) @Stranger195: It was a custom signature that violated WP:CUSTOMSIG in several respects, not least of which was using a template contrary to WP:SIG#NT. Asian 10,000 Challenge invite
[edit]Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 04:53, 20 October 2016 (UTC)
