Jack, could you clarify your comment on the "1604 issue"? Are you saying that the editor's comment should be there or should not be? Paul B (talk) 18:13, 20 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Global Synthetic Ice, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing no content to the reader. Please note that external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article don't count as content. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Dalek - images[edit]

Hi Jack. Thanks for your recent contributions to Talk:Dalek regarding images. The question of image use on Wikipedia is an extremely thorny one. You can get an overview here User:BKNFCC/FAQ. Both this, and the various points of view regarding the subject expressed on the talk page, are probably worth a read before pitching-in. What's needed to carry the matter forward is reasoned argument supporting or countering prior points which have been made, or the submission of an entirely new perspective on the matter. Consensus in Wikipedia is rarely based upon a simple show of hands or folk just declaring that they are for or against a particular position - they need to say why. (Incidentally, in case you were wondering, the copyright regarding Movie Daleks is held by Studio Canal, so there's no easy get-out that way either...) Regards, Donlock (talk) 18:51, 26 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add contentious BLP material that is poorly sourced. Wikipedia is not a reliable source, and especially not for that statement. Dabomb87 (talk)

See WP:Biographies of living persons for more information. Dabomb87 (talk) 16:51, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and the page that you created has been or soon will be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you.  Blanchardb -MeMyEarsMyMouth- timed 17:14, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please ask your questions at the help desk. Do not create articles to ask questions, as those who are qualified to help you will not see them. -- Blanchardb -MeMyEarsMyMouth- timed 17:16, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

talk to me please! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Germanshepherds100 (talkcontribs) 17:34, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Huh? Are you a vandal or do you want to genuinely want to speak to me? If so please be more specific. Jack Quinn UK (talk) 20:01, 6 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Not a vandal but blocked for using Wikipedia as a social network instead of contributing constructively to building an encyclopedia. --NeilN talk to me 20:04, 6 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ahh man... Do you really have to block him? He only wants someone to talk to. Jack Quinn UK (talk) 20:08, 6 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yup, there are thousands of sites on the net where you can chat with other people. Here, we're focused on building an encyclopedia. I've also answered your question on becoming an admin on the Help page. --NeilN talk to me 20:18, 6 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
