Edit Summary Request
[edit]I have noted that you often edit without an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This is considered an important guideline in Wikipedia. Even a short summary is better than no summary. An edit summary is even more important if you delete any text; otherwise, people may think you're being sneaky or even vandalizing. Also, mentioning one change but not another one can be misleading to someone who finds the other one more important; add "and misc." to cover the other change(s). Thanks! -- Kukini 23:45, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
Hi Kukini,
I have started to add edit summaries. This page has been created quickly and so I have often skipped over this step since it should be obvious that all of the changes were added by the same person who was creating the Wikipedia page "on the fly". It is far easier to do it this way then to second-guess what the internal Wikipedia links will be called. I am sorry if this has created any confusion. I will try to remember to do this in future. Very often the Edit summary field appears to have been pre-filled (as in this case).

License tagging for Image:Venus of Dolni Vestonice.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Venus of Dolni Vestonice.png. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 22:08, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
Possible copyright violation
[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Southall Studios, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. This article appears to be a direct copy from http://www.southallfilmstudios.com/thehistory.htm, and therefore a copyright violation. The copyrighted text has been or will soon be deleted.
If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL), you can comment to that effect on Talk:Southall Studios. Then you should do one of the following:
- Make a note on the original website that re-use is permitted under the GFDL and state at Talk:Southall Studios where we can find that note; or
- Send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on Talk:Southall Studios.
It is also important that the text be modified to have an encyclopedic tone and that it follows Wikipedia article layout. For more information, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Thank you, and please feel welcome to continue contributing to Wikipedia. Happy editing! 137.195.15.25 14:04, 20 October 2006 (UTC) (User:Scott Wilson not logged in)
Dear Wikipedia,
I was the author as well of the text from the Southall Studios website (as well as its primary web designer). Southall Studios was one of the earliest film studios in the United Kingdom. I haven't had a chance to visit Wikipedia for some time and was surprised and dismayed that all of the work I put into this page has been deleted. The page was built up over an extended period and it was destroyed and all the time it took to put together was entirely wasted. Thank you. I don't think I will be doing this again in the near future. I will stick to simple amendments of other people's pages, if that.
- Hi...you might want to talk with User:Quadell, one of the admins that deleted that page. I don't personally see how it is a copyright infringement, but I have not studied it as did Quadell. Best, --Kukini 04:14, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Jaye Griffiths, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello Jbtv! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 287 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Jbtv. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the article John Burton (actor), you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Widefox; talk 22:33, 14 April 2018 (UTC)
