re: WP:LA

Hi - Did you try template:Admin-abbr or template:User3? I think the links to the logs are probably quite handy. -- Rick Block (talk) 14:07, 28 May 2009 (UTC)

I've converted the pages to user3. Here's the parser output from Wikipedia:List of administrators/Active:
NewPP limit report
Preprocessor node count: 18550/1000000
Post-expand include size: 638472/2048000 bytes
Template argument size: 49434/2048000 bytes
Expensive parser function count: 0/500
Seem good enough? -- Rick Block (talk) 02:51, 9 June 2009 (UTC)
Yes, thanks!   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 12:48, 9 June 2009 (UTC)

Re: Admin coaching

Sure, I'll give it a shot. Go ahead and create User:Jeff G./Coaching, and include one or two paragraphs about yourself and your editing career. After that I'll post series upon series of questions, with some homework mixed in. Good luck! –Juliancolton | Talk 00:25, 6 June 2009 (UTC)

Done, thanks for giving it a shot!   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 00:38, 6 June 2009 (UTC)

Warning about blanking

I noticed your warning on User talk:Autoib. While page blanking is generally considered vandalism, the one exception is for an article that has been exclusively edited by one editor (except for tagging that article). In that case it is an immediate candidate for speedy deletion under G7. That was the case here. You may wish to retract that warning. The new editor is clearly struggling, and blanking that article was a step towards constructive contribution. Cheers. Toddst1 (talk) 04:09, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

Done, sorry, Huggle usually warns me of a single editor when I attempt to send blanking warnings.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 04:57, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

sorry

well sorry for being upset about user:DKqwerty sarcastically saying that my questions as to Obama's religion were "paranoid and delusional" Swimmerfreak94 (talk) 05:27, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

I see.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 05:39, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

I am sorry

I am just in a hurry, i don't find the reason for me to edit talk pages, only articles. Is there a way for me to delete my wikipedia?—Preceding unsigned comment added by JonasanRat7 (talkcontribs) 05:32, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

Yes, please see WP:VANISH for details.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 05:38, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

Thank you

Thank you for reverting the damage to my talk page.--The Legendary Sky Attacker 02:23, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

You're welcome.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 02:24, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

Get your facts straight

Come on, I'm not the one reverting, I'm the one un-vandalizing the persons edits! He's changing them to blank, I'm changing them to the original, so I'm good,he's not!

It appeared you were forecasting the outcome of the 2009 NBA Finals prematurely, in violation of WP:CRYSTAL.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 02:41, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
Oh, I'm sorry, I thought I was changing it to blank, or something, sorry again, I'm tired :).--Cubs197 (talk) 02:52, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
Apology accepted.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 02:57, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

Hi. What made User:Linas/Arbatsky's principle unmasked an attack page? Thanks.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 20:15, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

I am not sure that the page was intentionally created "primarily to disparage its subject", but, in fact, it does this. And there are some other problems. I asked on the page Wikipedia:Help_desk what to do, and it was suggested to put there the db-g10 template. The problems are the following:
* The article was created 3 years ago, and minor changes were made later.
* Currently, the article works as search engine spam; it is not devoted to the topic claimed in the title; it contains unverifiable information; it spreads negative (dis?)information about other people.
* Some additional discussion (if interesting) can be found here. Linas ignores suggestions to improve the article.
I think that the article breaks WP:NOT and WP:POVFORK. All valuable and verifiable information must be transfered to regular articles, all other information must be removed. Thank you.
Hunshi (talk) 20:48, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
This is not an article, it is an essay in user space. Your attempt to delete it was declined.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 01:50, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
My attempt to delete it was partially satisfied. As far as I understand, you are not an admin. (?) So, I will continue this topic on the page User_talk:Toddst1. Thank you for attention. Hunshi (talk) 17:12, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

Sea Shepherd

Oddly enough, the same United States that allows Sea Shepherd to operate as a tax-exempt environmental group identifies them as ecoterrorists. — NRen2k5(TALK), 09:49, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

Is that info from a reliable source? Can we verify it? Thanks!   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 02:32, 17 June 2009 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Road Runner (ISP) Logo With Character Cropped.PNG)

Thanks for uploading File:Road Runner (ISP) Logo With Character Cropped.PNG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:09, 18 June 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for the notice. I have reversed the vandalism that orphaned it.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 19:57, 18 June 2009 (UTC)

Problem with user

I did not think that I was personally attacking this person http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User%3aAvery_player2011?diff=298232921. I was just very frustrated with the fact that they are lying on the page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deford,_Michigan. They do not seem to be willing to listen to what I have to say and are repeatedly changing the page back to the way it was, with lies in tact. What do I do then? Do you normally allow articles with lies?

Michael herc (talk) 00:39, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

That user has been reported to WP:AIV and then blocked. AIV reports are removed when they are dealt with. Please see this edit for details.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 00:54, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
Jeff, Michael's edits appear legit; the blocked editor's appear less so. --Anthony.bradbury"talk" 21:52, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
I was not impressed with the incivility on User:Avery player2011.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 00:10, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

Problem with User

The edits done by http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User%3aAvery_player2011?diff=298232921 were fully true but the page did list many real facts that Michael herc has deleted or has listed as not true. I have read his comment on Avery_player2011 and his reasons on the edits he made were completely wrong. I did not think that I was personally attacking this person http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Michael_herc. I was just very frustrated with the fact that they are lying on the page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deford,_Michigan. They do not seem to be willing to listen to what I have to say and are repeatedly changing the page back to the way it was, with lies in tact. Their page is not researched and in some areas, completely wrong. Isn't Wikipedia's mission about providing free -REAL FACTS- to the public? What do I do then? Do you normally allow articles with lies? Could you block a person from a page? Please Reply!

Bernette (talk) 00:15, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

Do you know Avery_player2011 or Michael herc? You all seem to live in the same area.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 00:31, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

I do not live close enough to either since both seem to live in Deford, MI. I live in Marlette. Bernette 03:33, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

Thank you.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 00:12, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

Your deleting skills

i agree that if one deletes or adds content of an article or of a page then the reason should be provided for such edit. However, you activities seem also like a person who does not understand a topic but wants to seek creative attention as you did many times on the page "copulative verb". The information i placed was the important information to understand the basic linguistics. The rest of the information is non-linguistics but interesting. The page "copula" also a good page, but has been vandalized by few whose artistic side of minds also slightly of art of graffiti.

However, some of your information that you noted in finding edit errors are very useful.

The sole contact I can find between us was when you blanked redirect Copulative verbs[1] and I reverted you[2] and warned you[3], all on 10 May 2009 (UTC, some six weeks ago). I have never edited the page "copulative verb".   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 01:56, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
