Information to add to article on Satanic Panic
[edit]I would like to get proper credit for originating the term satanic panic. I originated the term with the title of my book "Satanic Panic", whne it was published in 1993. Before that date, the term was not used to label satanic cult crime rumors. My evidence for this fact is in the Editor's page of the current issue of Skeptical Inquirer, July/August, 2022. I can send a copy of that page ---- SI Editor's pageJPG; if I knew how to do so.≈≈≈ My name is Dr. Jeffrey Victor.

- Best of luck with trying to get publicity for coining the expression. However, that kind of self-promotion (or indeed any kind of promotion) isn't what Wikipedia is for, so you'll have to look for other ways of publicising your achievement. JBW (talk) 17:32, 30 June 2022 (UTC)
- @JBW However (WP:OTHERCONTENT, I know), Satanic Panic states "Pazder was also responsible for coining the term ritual abuse." A well sourced "The term "Satanic Panic" originated in..." doesn't seem glaringly awful IMO. But, that discussion belongs at Talk:Satanic panic. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 18:22, 30 June 2022 (UTC)
- @Gråbergs Gråa Sång: I have no opinion one way or the other as to whether this little fact should be included in the article. I do, however, strongly feel that an editor covered by the terms of Wikipedia's conflict of interest guideline having the information added as a bit of vanity self-promotion is contrary to the whole spirit of Wikipedia. - His motive may be wrong, but it may be a decent addition anyway. WaPo called his book a "landmark work." Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 08:01, 1 July 2022 (UTC)
