If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Megan Rosenbloom requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.  A m i t  웃   22:38, 27 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Articles for Creation: List of reviewers by subject notice[edit]

Hi Jessamyn, you are receiving this notice because you are listed as an active Articles for Creation reviewer.

Recently a list of reviewers by area of expertise was created. This notice is being sent out to alert you to the existence of that list, and to encourage you to add your name to it. If you or other reviewers come across articles in the queue where an acceptance/decline hinges on specialist knowledge, this list should serve to facilitate contact with a fellow reviewer.

To end on a positive note, the backlog has dropped below 1,500, so thanks for all of the hard work some of you have been putting into the AfC process!

Sent to all Articles for Creation reviewers as a one-time notice. To opt-out of all massmessage mailings, you may add Category:Wikipedians who opt out of message delivery to your user talk page. Regards, Sam-2727 (talk)

Commons - Media Search[edit]

Greetings,

The Structured Data team is working on an alternative, image-focused prototype for media search on Commons. The prototype uses categories, structured data as well as wikitext from Commons, and Wikidata to find its results. The development team would like your feedback on the prototype, as they are looking to work to further enhance the search experience on Commons. If you have a moment, please look over the project page set up on Commons to find a link to the prototype and leave your feedback on the talk page. Thanks for your time, I'll be posting message similar to this one to other pages on Commons. The team is looking forward to reading what you think. Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Screen Shot 2020-05-30 at 18.46.57.png[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Screen Shot 2020-05-30 at 18.46.57.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 23:25, 30 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, will do. Jessamyn (talk) 23:29, 30 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A barnstar for you![edit]

Goddess Barnstar
Thank you for all your work on Wikipedia improving articles about women and their achievements, particularly with subjects with lesser visibility. Edit(s) like these do more than simple copy-editing – they show readers that articles about women are held to the same standards as other entries. Thank you. Your pings are not working[edit]

For a ping to work, it has to be in a paragraph with a new signature. Perhaps a new paragraph with a new signature. So try all those again. Dicklyon (talk) 06:08, 7 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I seem to have landed on the wrong user's talk page. It was about this, which I've now told the right user, I hope. Dicklyon (talk) 02:02, 10 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

New Page Patrol[edit]

Hi Jessamyn. Based on your experience at Articles for Creation and because you have the autopatrol permission, I have added you to the "New page reviewers" user group for three months. Please check back at WP:PERM if you would like to make it permanent. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encyclopedia. The culture around NPP is a bit different than AFC. So, before doing any new page patrols you need read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page. In addition, please remember:

  • Be nice to new editors. They are usually not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance so that they are aware.
  • You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them – even if they are not.
  • If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it – just leave it for another reviewer.
  • Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page. Use the message feature to communicate with article creators and offer advice as much as possible.
  • This allows you to "unreview" an accepted article from AFC to allow a second look while in mainspace. To do this simply click the green check after accepting an article from AFC.

The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. Best, Barkeep49 (talk) 02:42, 22 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Commons - Media Sarch, new feedback round[edit]

Greetings,

I'm following up on a message from earlier in the year about the prototype development for Special:MediaSearch. Based on community feedback, the Structured Data team has developed some new features for Special:MediaSearch and are seeking another round of comments and discussions about the tool. Commons:Structured_data/Media_search is updated with details about the new features plus some other development information, and feedback is welcome on Commons talk:Structured_data/Media_search. Media Search works in any language, so the team would especially appreciate input around support for languages other than English. I look forward to reading about what you think. -- Keegan (WMF) (talk) 20:05, 23 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you[edit]

Hello, and thank you again for your review and advice on the "MRO" impersonation and copyright violations issues recently. I'm happy to say that the improperly licensed images have been deleted, and the real MRO has recovered the username as her own... which has the added benefit that now she is a new user interested to make contributions of her own. :) Thank you again and kind regards. TarichaRivularis (talk) 17:53, 17 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

So happy to hear that, thank you for letting me know. Jessamyn (talk) 00:41, 18 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Tom West 2009.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Tom West 2009.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Magog the Ogre (tc) 00:50, 22 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I took the picture but it had a non-free license on it. I changed that to be public domain on the original image. I think that should be okay? Thank you. Jessamyn (talk) 02:22, 22 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Dieter Ruehle[edit]

On 8 November 2020, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Dieter Ruehle, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. Orphaned non-free image File:MLCommission.jpeg[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:MLCommission.jpeg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 03:34, 30 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
