July 2009[edit]

Because this is obviously related to the activities of Logical34, this will be your only warning: If you want to add material, don't copy and paste copyrighted material. Instead take the few seconds to add facts and work them in using your own words. In addition, any violations of our policy of WP:NPOV will be dealt with immediately. --Bobak (talk) 20:15, 30 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Also, just to be clear why you cannot take such an action, take a look at the bottom of the page you plagiarized:

Re: Blocked[edit]

You weren't blocked. However, because there were chronic violations of our strict copyright policy (without any indication that anyone was actually listening to previous warnings), I semi-protected that specific article (so that only established editors can make changes) in an effort to force people to take a few moments to read and follow policy. It will reset after a period of time. If you were duped into copying and pasting copyrighted material only hours after the violations of "Logical34" (who had been warned several times), then I apologize. However, it seems that someone working with copy ought to be mindful of intellectual property rights --in particular if you're the "jhrubin" I googled after I noticed the new copyright violation only hours after a previous instance. I should note that, even if SU Athletics grants Wikipedia permission to use the precise copy, the version on the SU website wouldn't work here because it would quickly be tagged with problems of WP:NPOV in addition to issues with WP:Tone and general format under WP:Style. Simply adapting the facts of the SU bio, preferably with citations, would be acceptable (the PR quotes would be a very tough sell here). Ideally, it would also use available sources outside of the official SU page to broaden the article and avoid accusations that its relying too heavily on one "official" source. --Bobak (talk) 05:34, 31 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
