Zelda's influence on computer RPG's

Hello,

I can't come up with any citations for Zelda's lack of influence on computer RPG's because it would be an oxymoron. Why would there be references for something non-existent? You'll notice most of the references for that paragraph are very general statements, with the source being books which can't be checked, and I suspect they wouldn't hold up under scrutiny.

During the 80's and 90's, computer games developed along a separate tract from console games. Dungeon Master came out in 1987, the same year as Zelda's North American release, and it was a first-person dungeon crawler. This is the game that would be cited by later computer RPG developers as highly influential, and it couldn't possibly be more different from Zelda. The following paragraph is taken from Dungeon Master's wiki page:

While Dungeon Master itself was inspired by early Ultima games,[2] it amazed Ultima developer Origin Systems's employees; Origin founder Richard Garriott said that he was "ecstatic" at discovering the "neat new things I could do" in the game. It influenced Ultima VI's graphical user interface and seamless map,[16] and the later Ultima Underworld.[17] Game journalist Niko Nirvi wrote that no 3D role-playing title before Ultima Underworld (1992) could challenge Dungeon Master as a game.

Ultima Underworld itself went on to inspire the Elder Scrolls and Arx Fatalis.

By contrast, there are almost no top-down computer RPG's remotely similar to Zelda, or if they are, they predate Zelda (such as the Ultima series). Furthermore, following Zelda's release, computer RPG's still remained mostly turn-based. It wasn't until the late 90's that computer action-RPG became more prominent and these were markedly different from Zelda.

The sources appear to support what is stated in the article. If there was an earlier influence, there should be a wp:reliable source (RS) stating thus. You could either

Hello, Jim.

Just stating facts as a resident of Salem who is familiar with the subject and his books. Also noting that the early life section in regard to the grandfather and brother was revised based on the information in the cited sources that you obviously didn't bother to read. Mr. Dowgin is a well-known beatnik in my neighborhood who exaggerates for promotional purposes. "Salem North Man", the author of the article, is Mr. Dowgin under an alias. You are correct that he is a nutter. How this article was even approved for publishing is beyond me.

I am not getting any proper reference from which you claimed that the owner of The Daily Ittefaq is Tofazzal Hossain Manik Miah. Suddenly I saw this change Following a legal dispute with the original owners in which Tofazzal Hossain won Manik Mia was declared owner. But at the beginning It was at The Daily Ittefaq's wiki page In 1958 Tofazzal Hossain changed the name of the original founder and publisher and replaced it with his name. The newspaper incorrectly displays Tofazzal Hossain as its founder. . @NeilN: You realize we are here discussing whether adding an [[]] interlink twice constitutes edit warring? So either me or the other guy I was discussing it with was supposed to go to the article's talk page and start a new section discussion about whether adding an interlink for a specific word for the Xth time in this specific article was, or was not, a good idea?

I am sorry, but your description is wrong. After two edit summaries we built the consensus that there should be only a single link to the interlinked article on that article's page. Even though we didn't do it thru the Talk page (which would have been redundant in my opinion), we did it thru edit summaries.
To that matter the WP:EW doesn't say that the cosensus should be reached strictly thru the article's talk page. It also describes edit warring as "unconstructive and creates animosity between editors, making consensus harder to reach". Which absolutely isn't what happened in the article in question. The fact the complaint came not from the guy I was reverting from, but from some unrelated user is another proof. And your propensity to start giant discussions over non-issues is absolutely freaking fascinating. I mean, good Lord. It's one thing to spend your time - the time you could have spent on writing wikipedia articles - on reaching consensus about information to be put in an article. I dealt with that but on a side note, please remember that per WP:DAILYMAIL the source you mentioned to defend the inclusion of the material is not considered reliable. Another user now added a reliable source but the article still suffers from WP:UNDUE because the article contains little other information about the subject, which you might want to fix if possible. Hello! I would like to ask for a help. The page Shilpa Anand need additional citations for verification. In the page many wrong informations are added which need to correct. References not even added there right way. Few days ago some editors fixed the problemtic edits but due to some problem WP:admins rollbacked older version, even they removed some contents and informations too (which was also added in older version) when there was sources added, those informations was important for Encyclopedic (like awards and nominations). My apologies. Your "correction" was to MCPON Giordano. I corrected the order of precedence to his qualification badges and you return them to an erroneous status, thinking that i had deleted one. Thanks for highlighting this. But just to let you know that Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club (KLGCC) has gone through a rebranding process since 24 August 2015 to a new name which is TPC Kuala Lumpur. Everything has been updated ( facebook, google map, Instagram, website name, etc..) but the headline within in Wikipedia for TPC Kuala Lumpur still remains unchanged. Is there any other possible way that we could accelerate the changing process? Please let me know yea.

Any discussion about the show should go on the show's Talk page, not on users' talk pages. Writing Across Curriculum edits

Hi @Jim1138:, Yes, I deleted the first paragraph of ultimate section of WAC article titled "criticism" because, if you read it, you will see it does not constitute criticism at all but support for the approach.

You might also notice that this entry *about writing* is written abominably. Laughably bad. If I knew how to flag it as "below standard" for a more thorough revision, I would. I am not familiar with how to do this, nor do I know whether I am authorized (to flag). My professional opinion is that this article is beyond revision and needs to be rewritten but I am not volunteering, especially not when folks like yourself seem concerned with content for the sake of content, rather than quality or accuracy.

Without an wp:edit summary, it's hard to know what your thinking was. Please add an edit summary especially when deleting sources - giving your reasoning for their deletion. Akola city

I see you reviewed the change I made to Akola city page on Wikipedia and deleted the additions I made since I did not include the citation. Thank you for your review, but I would like to mention that the additions made were true and factual.

1. Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Agricultural University, Akola (PDKV) runs many Graduation and Post Graduation colleges. I had mentioned the ones which are situated in the city area. This can be checked by referring to university site - https://www.pdkv.ac.in/ This is a Government university and runs government colleges in the city. To get the whole list of colleges run by University, please refer : https://www.pdkv.ac.in/?page_id=141 Please note that I had mentioned only 5 of these colleges which are situated in the Akola city area.

2. Other addition I had made is of Post Graduate Veterinary College in Akola. It can be verified by College site - http://www.pgivasakola.in and also at University Page: http://www.mafsu.in/Constituent_Collage_Mafsu.aspx

Request to please restore the deleted additions to the Akola city Wikipedia page. Please let me know if you need any more details.

I was removing misleading information -  if I have 3 children in 1980 and another in 1990 when I die in 2000 I will have had 4 children in total. The current statement was correct only in the 1970s not 2018. Mr Farah actually had 3 wives and 8 children in total, however, rather than attempting to prove this by citation I removed the inaccurate info.

Royal Bahraini Air Force

Thank you for your message. I edited the page as it was out of date, to write about what the Bahrain Air Force intends to purchase is out of date as it has now decided to purchase 16 F-16v.

Further more, the page also writes about what attack helicopter Bahrain intends to purchase, it has decided to purchase the AH-1Z now, and so this information was also out of date.

In changing the page back it is now out of date and you have only made the page worse. I also placed in references to the sales deals so people could clearly see the proof of the sales.
