Hello admin. I only correcting the dxag article. Take a look at its callsign meaning it says in the article is RR, but its callsign is dxAG. Its ag not RR. My point is, some parts of the dxAG page is copied only from dwrr-fm. Hope you understand. I don't vandalized. Im only correcting the incorrect parts of the dxag page. Seth Riggs wrong info in his bio.

Hi Jim, I just left information explaining why the above mentioned summary of my dads info is incorrect. Can you please call me at the number i left you in the last message? This is truly embarassing.

You do realize I have no way of verifying your identity. For all I know, the reverse could be true. A phone call won't resolve this. I did a photo search and that appears to be a photo of a Seth Riggs. Your best bet might be to first get an wp:account (which helps greatly with communication) and then find wp:reliable sources (not wp:selfpublished sources) that support your points. You can start a wp:RfC on talk:Seth Riggs or a wp:BLPN to get this cleared up. See Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons/Help and Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons Hope this helps Jim1138 (talk) 06:39, 27 May 2017 (UTC)

Hello, I'm enTerbury. I noticed that you removed a change I made to an article, Think Think and Ah Tsai, because I didn't provide a source. I’ve conveniently added one for now, but if you’d like to do it more wikipedia-professionally, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! EnTerbury (talk) 08:30, 28 May 2017 (UTC)

Young Stunna (musician)

Thanks for the info Jim The article has been elected for speedy deletion due to similarities between it and a previous article But the article was published with respect to the bio of an artist There has to be similarities mainly because the artist wouldn't want any detail about himself to be left out — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rexchuqs (talkcontribs) 08:25, 28 May 2017 (UTC)

@Rexchuqs: The only obligation we have to the artist is covered at WP:BLP, which doesn't say anything about what the article subject wants. If you are working with or for him (given that you seem to know what he supposedly wants), you need to read WP:Paid-contribution disclosure and WP:Conflict of interest. Jim1138 what can i do to avoid deletion of this article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rexchuqs (talkcontribs) 09:02, 28 May 2017 (UTC)

Hi,

I removed a line from the end of this paragraph (as an engine supplier) which you have subsequently cancelled out claiming it was not constructive. There is no relevance about Indy car racing in a Formula 1 article. It is blatant brand tarnishing. Please accept the revision.

I'm surprised you don't think the edit was constructive, Jim1138.

Previously, and now once again, the name Greg Valentine in the lede is wikilinked to the article about the American wrestler who uses that ring name, real name Jonathan Anthony Wisniski. However, the "Greg Valentine" partnered with Big Daddy (Shirley Crabtree) for the bout in which Malcolm Kirk died was not Wisniski, but Shirley's nephew Steve who wrestled under the name "Greg Valentine" in tribute to Wisniski, and who does not have his own article. This is all made clear in Shirley Crabtree's article.

The wikilink is clearly erroneous, but merely delinking it would likely lead to someone ignorant of the above restoring the link, hence my added explanation.

Incidentally, I have been a regular editor for over 10 years, most often on the Ref Desks, but also in articles when I happen to spot errors or poor wording etc. (I am an ex-professional copy editor). I consciously choose not to open a Wikipedia account, and have a dynamic IP because the ISP (Sky.com) that took over my previous static-IP ISP several years ago only provides dynamic IPs. {The poster formerly known as 87.81.230.195} 94.9.8.213 (talk) 05:32, 1 June 2017 (UTC)

Brookfield Asset Management/Birch Mountain class action

Hi Jim1138, I was surprised to see that within perhaps one or two minutes of my edits on the Brookfield Asset Management page they had already been reverted, leading me to believe that perhaps it was done with some automatic tool, without proper examination, because I believe my edits were valid and constructive. Since the lawsuit has been dismissed without merit, it appears to me that any extra information with unnecessary details should be excluded, and that is what I did. I also added two sources to support the contentions. I hold that my edits were indeed constructive, and I would appreciate if you could re-instate them. Thanks, 104.224.55.68 (talk) 08:50, 1 June 2017 (UTC)

Your edit summary of "removing extraneous information" didn't fit with your edit. Jim1138 (talk) 08:55, 1 June 2017 (UTC)
What I meant was that I took out unneeded details, which is exactly what I did. I dont think I added anything, I just shortened the section and added two citations. I also was responding to a request by another editor, Harkennen, I believe, to shorten the section. I would like to re-instate my changes, if I may. Do you agree? Thanks. 104.224.55.68 (talk) 09:13, 1 June 2017 (UTC)

@Starboyforlyfe: The deletion was not in regards to it's accuracy. It did not establish wp:notability. BTW: I only tagged it, an wp:administrator reviewed the tag, made the decision, and deleted it. Portsmouth Ohio

Hi Jim1138, I was trying to improve the organization of the Portsmouth, Ohio Page. Its history is currently organized as 'Foundation', 'Growth', and 'Decline'. It should be like other cities, where historical periods are organized under "Foundation", "20th Century", and "21st Century". The overemphasis on a 'prescription drug epidemic' would be improved if a new section on Healthcare was added. A historical period should not be categorized as a 'Prescription Drug Epidemic'. How can we organize to change that? Thanks, Shawneesoc — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shawneesoc (talkcontribs) 20:32, 2 June 2017 (UTC)

Is there a specific reason that articles about cities absolutely must have History sections organized into 'Foundation' and then individual centuries? Surely there are plenty of cities where that would be impractical or not ideal -- I am not only thinking of Athens and Rome. If a particular city's history is best described in three subsections Foundation, Growth, then Decline, then it seems sensible to do so.
I do agree that 'Prescription Drug Epidemic' is not a sensible section of any city article. The events would need to be of a scale and significance clearly different to things happening elsewhere in the same country, as for example some of the sub-sections of the article about the British town of Rotherham. MPS1992 (talk) 21:37, 2 June 2017 (UTC)
@Shawneesoc: If the problem is extreme, Prescription Drug Epidemic would be wp:DUE. There are rules and there is wp:ignore all rules and wp:BOLD. See wp:Manual of Style for suggested formatting. I would suggest modeling after other articles of similarly-sized American cities with similar problems. Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 21:42, 2 June 2017 (UTC)

Thanks for the links, Jim1148. You asked if there is a specific reason that articles about cities absolutely must have History sections organized into Foundation and then individual centuries. While I think the better question to ask is if there is a specific reason that Portsmouth's page absolutely must be organized differently than other cities, my answer to your question is that the page should strive to be objective. When authors enter judgments on historical periods, such as 'growth' and 'decline', we are then forced into defining the terms of growth and decline. Population Growth? Sustainability Growth? Spiritual Growth? Growth of Economic Activity? Growth of civil liberties? And so on. The emphasis on the criteria used to determine growth and decline varies across readers and authors. The page currently deters additional information from recent years, unless it is about prescription drugs. I haven't found any city in the region that has a wikipedia page organized this way. Can you please confirm the edit, and then we can add more information about the 21st Century. Thanks. (Shawneesoc (talk) 16:16, 5 June 2017 (UTC))

Libellous, Blasphemous sex with Jesus

The James Kirkup poem, The Love That Dares to Speak Its Name, describes fictional sexual relationships between Jesus, his dead body, and a Roman centurion, among others. On the poet's page it states that the poem described the "lust" that the centurion felt towards Jesus. It seem to me that this is unduly euphemistic since the poem in fact details, repeatedly, fictional sex. Since it was the last, or one of the last, instances of the use of the law against blasphemy it seems important to me to note the extreme nature of the poem. I am not sure why you consider my edit (I am sorry I was not logged in) "unconstructive." Your revision seems to me to be ongoing censorship of even the content of the poem. I am not suggesting that wikipedia offend people by quoting from the poem, but to hide the nature of the poem seems unwikipedian. The judge in his summation described the poem as libelous, and therefore blasphemous, precisely because it puroprts sex acts and not merely feelings such as lust please see this book.--Timtak (talk) 03:17, 5 June 2017 (UTC)

@Timtak: My apology. Something strange happened here. I left a message here and then the archive bot removed it here. Here it is again!
I made the assumption given the edit and the content that you were somehow testing Wikipedia. Something along the lines of "Can I add anything and get away with it?" I just discovered that an IP changed The Drowned Sailor to hi and removed it. Please restore, perhaps with an ES that is less up to misinterpretation. ;o) Jim1138 (talk) 17:56, 5 June 2017 (UTC)

@Jim1138: I did add a source. All the stuff I added was from that source. I rewrote (rather than rephrased) the facts in my own words from the source to completely prevent any copyright complaint. I already know i cannot quote, but banning rewriting? I guess that was just you flattering me. Perhaps the only issue with it was it was centred over the processing of CO2 with the cycle rather than the cycle itself. Charlieb000 (talk) 06:00, 11 June 2017 (UTC)

@Charlieb000: Your edit here. A bit did have a reference, most did not. Also, it is off-topic. It's not about CO2 in refrigeration and its pros-and-cons. Jim1138 (talk) 06:04, 11 June 2017 (UTC)

@Jim1138: That was why I said there may have been an issue was over the processing of the gas. Perceptual Load Theory

Hello Jim, My apologies for not leaving an edit summary, this is my first time making an edit as it was for an assignment for my masters degree. The reason for my edits was due to the high number of mistakes and lack of clarity in explaining the theory. I aimed with my article to simplify and clarify the core principles of the theory using the knowledge gained from my 'visual attention and neuropsychology' masters class. Furthermore, the article was blatantly incorrect about the critiques of perceptual load theory that span several decades and are well supported. I felt that by ignoring that part of the literature a reader would have been misguided as to the complex history of the validity and reliability of the Perceptual Load Theory.

I will attempt to change back my article soon to the state that I put it up in. If you feel that my article is inadequate in any way please let me know via my talk page.

Kind Regards,

Dear Jim,

I am writing a dissertation on Afshars and unfortunately exact information does not exist on none of Nader Mirza sons. However 4 of them were left alive while 3 of them were blinded and sent to the North (which Akhundov was also from Northern part) and one to India. The surname Akhundov is a very rare surname, which means - Akhund (the ruler, the royal member). So that kind of makes a sense. I have added the content after verification from his son Dr. Vinaysheel Gautam. Dr. Vinayshil Gautam, M.A., Ph.D., FRAS serves as Professor of Department of Management Studies of Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi. Also information about Devendranath Sharma is available on http://dkifoundation.org/index.php/events-a-activities/acharya-devendra-nath-sharma .

I checked several on flickr, but most seem to have been deleted. this image has "All rights reserved" in the lower right corner, so it can not be used. this is tagged "public domain". Hi Jim, you have removed the changes which I have made on Dayanidhi Maran. you seem to have mechanically removed the changes which I have made without apply your mind. You should realise that the information on this page relates to a living person and the earlier edits were of poor sourcing, and hinted to defame this person in this page. I removed the warnings from their talk page as a courtesy, in order to try to deal as sympathetically as possibly with someone expressing the concerns that they were doing. Hope you don't mind me doing so (I'm aware that yours were recently added). As I made clear in the edit summary, this is not a licence for them to repeat the article edits. I hope this approach works. Regards, --Money money tickle parsnip (talk) 11:27, 20 June 2017 (UTC)

Devendranath Sharma Edit

Hi Jim

Regarding your comment on Devendranath Sharma edit. This is a summing up of major commentaries on writing of Acharya Devendra Nath Sharma available in the book: Acharya Devendra Nath Sharma: Ek Samashtimaya Vyaktitva - (translated into English the title would be :An Inclusive Personality) edited by Dr Vidya Niwas Mishra, who was the editor of Navbharat Times and a very respected commentator in Hindi. The book was published by Vaani Prakashan. The book was released in Rashtrapati Bhawan in 1993 and Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma, the then President of India received the first copy. All comments made on Acharya Sharma are based on this book which is cited under reference.

@ What is this all about: Acharya Devendra Nath Sharma cleaning the walls of Patna University. It seems rather silly to me.

This is to show how he was for Swachhta, cleanliness decades before it became a movement in India. However if according to your policy it needs to be deleted, please delete it.

The Arsenio Hall Show

Hello. I recently updated a page with accurate information concerning an infamous moment in the Arsenio Hall Show. As verified with IMDb, the right date of the taping is December 1990, where Paul Hogan was also a guest. May 1991 doesn't include any appearance by Hogan. Here's the link with information about the show and incident. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1344456/?ref_=rvi_tt Feel free to include it on the page. Thank you so much. Hey, I removed it because it's just a dodgy website trying to get page views. As far as I'm aware a box office bomb has never been given a sequel based on toy sales and there's no evidence that this film will be an exception. 2.102.184.54 (talk) 23:35, 20 June 2017 (UTC)

Estavayer-le-Lac

Hi, Since you seemed to care about the afformentionned page, I thought I could ask the question directly to you, as I couldn't find a talk page about it. I wanted to correct the Mayor, since it has changed quiet a while ago already : [official website showing the members of the "town council" (I guess it can be called like that): https://www.estavayer.ch/autorites-administration/conseil-communal the Mayor is now André Losey] However, since Estavayer-le-Lac merged with other into Estavayer at the beginning of the year... it doesn't really make sense: Estavayer-le-Lac being a former municipality, it doesn't have a Mayor anymore. Should I simply remove the government section and create a new one on the Estavayer page? Same for the link to the website. It is now a redirection to the site of Estavayer. I would change it, since estavayer-le-lac.ch doesn't exist anymore, but should I really put a link to a bigger entity's website or simply remove it (and simply add it to the Estavayer page)?

Oh and on the page Estavayer, the municipalities which have merged with Estavayer-le-Lac into Estavayer are listed in neighboring_municipalities ... which doesn't make much sense (since they're not municipalities anymore ... and they're Part of Estavayer ...) should we list the real neighboring municipalities instead?

Thank you very much

Please feel free to change it, but per wp:verifiability, please wp:cite a wp:reliable source (RS) to support your information. help:referencing for beginners and help:footnotes, and wp:RefToolbar. If you have an RS, and wish for me to do so, please leave the links here and I would be glad to assist. Hopefully, Google translate will be sufficient. Please tell me what needs to be removed and what needs to be changed. Preferably something on the lines of "Change X to Y" With X being what is removed and Y being what is added to replace it. You could also add it to the article's talk page. Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 09:42, 21 June 2017 (UTC)

Anthony bailey

Many Thanks for the message. I pressed the complete button before I could add my comments. Sorry! It's seems to me that the proposed changes made are reasonable and in line with Wikipedia guidelines. Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia and much of the information supplied by user Hunc does not seem relevant to an article. It is either based on information secured from an unreliable source namely Mail online. The constantinian order dispute is well documented and therefore should be covered under those pages rather than on dispute referenced in detail on a personal bio page of a living person. It's not the style for a Wikipedia entry. I base by views by looking at other articles written about other senior members of this disputed order for reference. Additionally Bailey is the special envoy of Antigua and Barbuda, according to many sources , holds a diplomatic passport of that country, and has been knighted by that country. Therefore the removal of this references to his Antiguan role seem odd and inappropriate and there is no doubt that a large part of the controversy stirred up in the gossip pages of the mail and mail on Sunday revolve around this role . Would welcome Your thoughts. 2001:8A0:7BDD:FA01:8C46:2350:86D4:123E (talk) 10:33, 24 June 2017 (UTC)

Hi, I added F.U.P.A to the 'synonyms'(nicknames) for Abdominal obesity and I find it inappropriate that you removed my edit because I cited a proper source, and added a valid name. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.136.194.212 (talk) 15:02, 23 June 2017 (UTC)

FUPA is fat under the skin the article is about fat in the abdominal cavity. Jim1138 (talk) 18:40, 23 June 2017 (UTC)

Ok, however it's just another casual/unformal form of saying fat in the Abdominal cavity (for example; beer belly). I was just trying to contribute to the community, but thank you for doing your job, sir. Also, it's F.U.P.A. Not FUPA. Thanks, Good night. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.136.194.212 (talk) 04:52, 25 June 2017 (UTC)

According to your source, It is used to describe excessive adipose (fatty) tissue or loose skin in the mons pubis area of the pelvic region. That is not in the abdominal cavity, it is the skin. They are two different areas. Abdominal obesity the fat is around the intestine and associated organs. The other is between the abdominal muscle and outer skin. They look different and have different health effects. Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 05:17, 25 June 2017 (UTC)

changes to Bruce Haigh page

HI Jim

I am not used to Wikipedia, but you reverted my changes on the basis that I did not adequately explain - I did say that the chnges were revised text from Bruce Haigh himself, as I am his web designer and he asks me to do these things for him. He sent me the revised text in a word document and instructed me to replace the wikipedia article with his new revised text. I did not realise that my explanation was not adequate. As a result, Bruce Haigh has said that you have revereted the info back into containing incorrect information. For example, he no longer grows olives etc etc, but the reverted text now says he does again. If Bruce gives me his entire revised information to replace the wikipedia article, am I not allowed to do that if I say it is revised text from Bruce Haigh in my comment? For now, I will talk to Bruce again and discuss more granular corrections to ensure it does not get reverted again. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Millsweb (talkcontribs) 00:13, 27 June 2017 (UTC)

Your mistake

Wikipedia was made to allow anonymous editors to add/or correct mistakes on articles. 'An Unearthly Child'

So long since I logged in to Wikipedia, I've both forgotten and lost not just the password I last used, but also the user name. Regardless, I'm Stef Anthony Coburn. My father wrote the work in question (a month or so after my ninth birthday, as I only too well recall). As the present lawful owner of all my late father's 'Doctor Who' related intellectual properties, inclusive of a number of earlier, in certain aspects substantially different drafts of the story subsequently televised in November of 63. I can authoritatively state with categorical absolute certainty that there IS a difference, and your article is factually in error in failing to acknowledge it. Whether you like it or not, the collective title of the first story in four episodes was consistently, 'Doctor Who and The Tribe of Gum' throughout the development of the story up to the penultimate draft which he renamed 'Doctor Who and The Gift of Fire' before reverting (for unknown reasons) to 'The Tribe of Gum' for the final transmitted version. 'The Tribe of Gum' as you are clearly well aware, was rendered in four episodes, each with it's own individual title: in order: episode one: 'An Unearthly Child'; episode two' 'The Cave of Skulls'; episode three: 'The Forest of Fear'; and episode four: 'The Firemaker'. Given this well recorded fact, it made no sense at the time, and makes no sense now to ignore the three succeeding episodes, in favour of the lazy recourse (which is all this common error ever was) merely to the title of the first. Whilst it's certainly true that the story became widely known as '100,000 BC' and that this is in fact a far better title, with the eponymous 'Gum' having been more or less excised from the plot, a draft or two before the final one, the fact remains, as I have stated. See: http://tardis.wikia.com/wiki/The_Tribe_of_Gum_(script) in case you're considering the patently fatuously ridiculous notion of dismissing (once again) the verifiable and many times verified clear recollections of personally involved witnesses to and/or participants in the actual event under discussion, as 'original research', in which case my contempt for this same misapplied process, which has so presumed in the past, knows no bounds. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.9.27.154 (talk) 14:03, 13 August 2017 (UTC)

I think you might have dropped into this without being aware of the talk page discussion. There have been a number of IPs involved, all Telstra IPs by the look of it, wanting some disputed content in the article. We were having a discussion on the talk page (a pointless one, but a discussion nonetheless). Today an IP arbitrarily decided that disputed content should go in the article when there was no consensus. I reverted that and then Cjhard decided to pop in and do the same, working off votes rather than consensus. He doesn't seem interested in continuing the discussion, just bulldozing the content into the article to test consensus, which is not the right thing to do. Now another IP (also from Telstra) has popped in to disagree. His was actually a valid edit, since it just restores the WP:STATUSQUO. Despite being poorly stated, it's actually more appropriate than the other edits. --AussieLegend () 08:26, 16 August 2017 (UTC)

...hi!

Thank you for helping! I will look into everything more tomorrow (making a real account...). I have a question about linking articles to those in other languages, also, though. In English there is an article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shell_shock

and in German: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kriegszitterer

The English is for the concept, the German is for the people affected by it - but they're fundamentally equivalent as e.g. the English wiki doesn't have ones on shell shock... victims. The German one however does link to the English article, but not the other way around. How would one fix that? I tried a while back when I noticed it, but it seemed extremely complex/confusing at the time. Thank you in advance!
