I copyedits Newham, Victoria for wikipedia convention and other changes. With regard to the name, it was correct to name it with the comma. The reason it wasn't coming up in searches is that new articles never come up in searches. You have to wait for the database to be updated which can take up to a few weeks. However, as long as you type the name of the article correctly and click "Go" (not "Search") you will reach the article. Note also that when you move an article, a redirect is automatically created, so that if you Go to the name without the comma, you'll still reach the article. You can also make redirects manually for likely searches, such as capitalization errors. Cheers.--Fuhghettaboutit 15:44, 9 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Maintenance tags

[edit]

Please do not remove maintenance notices from pages unless the required changes have been made. If you are uncertain whether the page requires further work, or if you disagree with the notice, please discuss these issues on the page's talk page before removing the notice from the page. These notices and comments are needed to establish community consensus about the status of a page. Thank you. --AbsolutDan (talk) 14:12, 10 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:Princessboyer.JPG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Princessboyer.JPG. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 10:06, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

Newham

[edit]

Hi Jimmy 9515.

I removed your picture of Boyer as I did with the previous one because the picture doesn’t provide any information on Newham (even though he lives there), unlike your general store and roadside pictures which give a good feel for what Newham looks like. If you want your friends and family to see the picture, you can always start your user page and put it there. --Melburnian 11:10, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AutoWikiBrowser

[edit]

Thank you for your recent application to use AutoWikiBrowser. Regrettably, I have declined your request as you do not have 500 mainspace edits. You are welcome to apply again at a later time. Feel free to contact me with any questions, alphachimp 05:54, 17 January 2007 (UTC))[reply]

[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:Princessboyer.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you created this image yourself, please look at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#For image creators, select one of those tags, and add it to the image. To do that, simply go to Image:Princessboyer.JPG, click "edit this page", and add the appropriate tag. Be sure to remove the current tag indicating a lack of licensing!

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me at User talk:Angr or at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. —Angr 13:37, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest concerns

[edit]

If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Pets Haven Animal Shelter, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors;
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam);
    and you must always:
  4. avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially neutral point of view, verifiability, and autobiography.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see Wikipedia:Business' FAQ. For more details about what constitutes a conflict of interest, please see Wikipedia:Conflict of Interest. Thank you. --DAJF (talk) 08:20, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Petshavenanimalshelter.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Petshavenanimalshelter.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:06, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
