Welcome![edit]

Hello, JohnHawthornePShepherd, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you created or edited was Draft:John H. Shepherd, which appears to be an article about yourself. Writing about yourself is a common mistake made by new Wikipedians.

As this is an encyclopedia, we wouldn't expect to have an article about every contributor. We require individuals to meet Wikipedia's definition of a notable person to accept articles about them. A page you created about yourself may well be deleted from the encyclopedia. If it is deleted and you wish to retrieve its contents, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

If your contributions to an existing article about yourself are undone and you wish to add to or change it, please propose the changes on its talk page.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Snowmanonahoe (talk · contribs · typos) 22:37, 21 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, it is not. My name is not john Shepherd I came on Wikipedia to write about John Shepherd. And I did not know what to put my username. JohnHawthornePShepherd (talk) 22:40, 21 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@JohnHawthornePShepherd: In that case, you should request a username change as using the real name of someone who is not you violates our username policy.
However, if your only purpose of coming onto this site is to write about the Kenteller party and John Sheperd, don't waste more of your time; I can tell you right now that neither are notable. Snowmanonahoe (talk · contribs · typos) 22:55, 21 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

OK but for future articles or at least draft that I'll be making does it have to be real or can it be fictional for the article that you make? JohnHawthornePShepherd (talk) 22:58, 21 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia is an encyclopedia not a place for people to write fictional content. All new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS) KylieTastic (talk) 23:11, 21 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, introducing hoaxes, such as Draft:Kenteller Party, is considered to be vandalism and is prohibited. If you are interested in how accurate Wikipedia is, a more constructive test method would be to try to find inaccurate statements that are already in Wikipedia—and then to correct them if possible. If you would like to make test edits, please use the sandbox. Under section G3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, the page has been nominated for deletion. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. I used information from the official Kentucky secretary of state website made by the state. If that’s not reliable than I don’t know what is. JohnHawthornePShepherd (talk) 20:51, 22 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Can you explain how this is not reliable sources? JohnHawthornePShepherd (talk) 17:31, 23 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@JohnHawthornePShepherd unless people who leave messages also watchlist your page or subscribe to the section they are unlikely to see such questions. If you "mention" (aka link to the users name) an editor in a signed post they will get a notification (unless they turned notifications off) - See Help:Notifications. Courtesy ping @TheBritinator. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 21:42, 23 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The entire article only has two sources linked, and there is no inline citation. TheBritinator (talk) 21:50, 23 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@TheBritinator it is because there isn’t to much information on this topic. JohnHawthornePShepherd (talk) 21:56, 23 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Then the topic is not notable. You have provided a bunch of statements about the person, but with no inline citation. If it can't be provided to show notability, then it should not been made. TheBritinator (talk) 21:58, 23 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@TheBritinator then why was my other article accepted? JohnHawthornePShepherd (talk) 22:00, 23 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If you are referring to Andrew J. James, then it has what this one lacks - proof of notability and online citations. TheBritinator (talk) 22:01, 23 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This one has three sources the other has five it’s not big of a difference. When I submitted it too it only had 2. Then the other moderator accepted it and then it had five @TheBritinator JohnHawthornePShepherd (talk) 22:05, 23 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Draft:George Washington Craddock requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://web.sos.ky.gov/ofx/secsofstate?id=43. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

Andrea Rutkowski moved to draftspace[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Andrea Rutkowski. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it has no sources, it needs more sources to establish notability and There is only 1 RS source and it is not WP:SIGCOV, not an WP:NPOL pass either. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. GPL93 (talk) 03:22, 29 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Only 1 meets the criteria of being a Reliable source, and it isn't even notability lending because it is about a group of candidates and therefore isn't WP:SIGCOV. Best, GPL93 (talk) 03:45, 29 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
