Information icon Hello, John Schaech. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Melcous (talk) 22:25, 21 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add promotional or advertising material to Wikipedia, as you did at Johnathon Schaech, you may be blocked from editing. Melcous (talk) 00:27, 23 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

October 2021[edit]

Information icon Hello. I wanted to let you know that in your recent contributions to Johnathon Schaech, you seemed to act as if you were the owner of the page. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to Wikipedia. This means that editors do not own articles, including ones they create, and should respect the work of their fellow contributors. If you create or edit an article, remember that others are free to change its content. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Hello, I noticed that you may have recently made edits to Johnathon Schaech while logged out. Wikipedia's policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow the use of both an account and an IP address by the same person in the same setting and doing so may result in your account being blocked from editing. Additionally, making edits while logged out reveals your IP address, which may allow others to determine your location and identity. If this was not your intention, please remember to log in when editing. Thank you. Drm310 🍁 (talk) 05:41, 26 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Editors are expected to treat each other with respect and civility. On this encyclopedia project, editors assume good faith while interacting with other editors, which you did not appear to do at User talk:Melcous. Here is Wikipedia's welcome page, and it is hoped that you will assume the good faith of other editors and continue to help us improve Wikipedia! Thank you very much! Information icon Thank you for your contributions. Please mark your edits, such as your recent edits to Johnathon Schaech, as "minor" only if they are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. rsjaffe 🗩 🖉 09:06, 26 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

October 2021[edit]

This account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because the username, John Schaech, matches the name of a well-known, living person.

If you are the person represented by this username, please note that the practice of blocking such usernames is to protect you from being impersonated, not to discourage you from editing Wikipedia. You may choose to edit under a new username (see information below), but keep in mind that you are welcome to continue to edit under this username.

If you choose to keep your current username, please send an email to info-en@wikimedia.org including your real name and your Wikipedia username to receive instructions from our volunteer response team about account verification. Please do not send documentation without being requested to do so.

If you are not the person represented by this username, you are welcome to choose a new username (see below).

A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive, or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account.

You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our username policy guidelines and create the account yourself. Alternatively, if you wish for your existing contributions to carry over under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:

  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} below. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "Email this user" from their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a change of name request.
  3. Your requested new username cannot already be in use. Therefore, please check the list here to see if a name is taken prior to requesting a change of name.
Appeals: If, after reading the guide to appealing blocks you believe you were blocked in error, then you may appeal this block by adding {{unblock|Your reason here}} below this notice.

Cullen328 Let's discuss it 18:25, 26 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Cullen328, I was just coming here to block the account on a different ground: that it represents a group, which is against Wikipedia's principles. John Schaech signed his complaint about "malice" on Melcous's page with "John Schaech's team".[1] The account should not get to create a new account right now, IMO, and therefore I've changed the softblock to a hardblock, until such time as all problems are resolved. If you object, feel free to change the parameters again! Compare also my comment at WP:COIN concerning various other issues. Bishonen | tålk 18:48, 26 October 2021 (UTC).[reply]
  • Note: the person behind this account is now editing using an IP, [2][3]. Well, not right now, because I've blocked the IP for some time for block evasion and harassment. Bishonen | tålk 10:42, 8 November 2021 (UTC).[reply]
