I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Helpme}} before the question.

Before you create an article, make sure you understand what kind of articles are accepted here. Remember: Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and while many topics are encyclopedic, some things are not.

It is highly recommended that you place this text: {{Educational assignment}} on the talk page of any articles you are working on as part of your Wikipedia-related course assignment. This will let other editors know this article is a subject of an educational assignment and should be treated accordingly.

We hope you like it here and encourage you to stay even after your assignment is finished! Dr Aaij (talk) 19:14, 3 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sandbox, edits[edit]

Johnisha, first of all, here is your sandbox. Feel free to play around in it, but don't put any categories in it--see Help:User_page#Categories.2C_templates.2C_and_redirects.

Also, have a look at Walter Parratt. I had to rephrase your sentences immediately since they were copied verbatim from the source and you should know that that's not OK without quotation marks: look in your handbook for what constitutes plagiarism, or see WP:Plagiarism. BTW, it was not a big deal to rephrase, but next time you need to make sure that you take care of this yourself. Now, click on "View history" and click on the word "prev" at the beginning of my edit (or you can click here). You'll see that I reorganized the article, moved that bare URL of yours into what is called a template, and did some other cleanup. Now I'm going to go and add this to the list of completed assignments. Good luck writing an article, Dr Aaij (talk) 04:21, 25 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
