  • Hi, your all edits to article Nofel Izz fall under I don't like it, I warn you. Hope this helps.Justice007 (talk) 22:12, 31 October 2014 (UTC)
When your contributions get changed, edited or reverted, please do not take it as a confrontation; kindly look at my edit summaries, you actually made some grammatical errors, the phrase "focuses the" is inappropriate, the appropriate phrase is "focuses on", and your change of the subsection heading do not follow the theme of that section which is on career. If the subsection were under Discography, and you renamed it Album, then it should be OK. And you just made further changes which are similarly inconsistent: your rephrasing of the lead—like the choice of the phrase "Besides that"—do not sound encyclopaedic, not so neural, also the headings of the new subsections—Objective and Album, which you just created do not reflect the contents of those subsections and it is out of place with the theme of that section — MOS:HEADINGS. Please revert appropriately. Thank you. —JOHNMOORofMOORLAND (talk) 23:47, 31 October 2014 (UTC)
  • Hi Johnmoor, Well, you can correct the errors, typos if that are, and just remember sometimes in a hurry and misclick, occurs errors, we are here to correct that. Your other concerns, I don't consider valid. I am well aware of how to edit and add appropriate titles of the sections and subsections. "Singing" and "Designing" as the subsection titles are not describing that should be in accordance with content. The subject produced the album and objects, not the singing and designing, a bit awkward terms. The lead is correct in it exact concept that subject is best known as a entrepreneur than other professions. Wikipedia is not a newspaper for promotion and advertisement. We have to follow WP:NPOV. The use of "Besides that" is a very formal and encyclopedic term, your unawareness does not mean it is inappropriate. That are matching the theme and content. If you have still concerns, please discuss on the take page of the article to reach a consensus to revert or change that. I hope this helps.Justice007 (talk) 08:03, 1 November 2014 (UTC)
Hello Justice007, Wikipedia actually allows us to use any word, but that depends on the premise, that is why there is WP:WORDS which you must apply following WP:NPOV strictly. You are supposed to present Nofel Izz as a notable person and not try to defend his notability, using "Beside that" implies that you are trying to defend it, which is not neutral. As for the subsection headings, please follow MOS:HEADINGS and Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Accessibility#Headings. Thank you. —JOHNMOORofMOORLAND (talk) 11:55, 1 November 2014 (UTC)
  • I think your comment and referring rules support my edits that are under WP:NPOV and in accordance with rules, the subject's main factor and profession is entrepreneur and others are his sub-activities that I outlined properly.Justice007 (talk) 15:24, 1 November 2014 (UTC)

Please stop the edit-warring and try to build some consensus

You need to stop claiming consensus and start working with others. Please stop the edit-warring. --Ronz (talk) 18:08, 5 November 2014 (UTC)

You would agree with me that Justice007 is not making constructive contributions — with the sentimental reverts — other than to trade-off on the existing disputes, but he is doing so poorly; he should stop as I rightly dispute it. Thank you. —JOHNMOORofMOORLAND (talk) 20:41, 5 November 2014 (UTC)
Sorry, but I don't agree, nor is it justification for your continued edit-warring [1]. Are you going to stop, or do we need to get an administrator involved? --Ronz (talk) 20:45, 5 November 2014 (UTC)

warning

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Nofel Izz. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. While edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount and can lead to a block, breaking the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a block. If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. Information icon Hello, Johnmoor. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies. Note that Wikipedia's terms of use require disclosure of your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. Jytdog (talk) 03:17, 27 January 2015 (UTC)

question

Hi Johnmoor, with regard to your editing on VentureDNA - would you please tell me if you received any compensation for creating that article or otherwise editing it? Thanks. Jytdog (talk) 03:17, 27 January 2015 (UTC)

No, I am not paid to do so. Thank you. —JOHNMOORofMOORLAND (talk) 10:20, 27 January 2015 (UTC)
Thank you for answering. Your edits appear to be very much like that of a paid editor. Please pay special care to write in a neutral manner and to very carefully source content to independent reliable sources. I am considering nominating The VentureDNA article for deletion as it almost entirely sourced to press releases by the company. Please save all of us trouble by using better sources. Thanks. Jytdog (talk) 13:29, 27 January 2015 (UTC)
I do not think that when some sources has become unavailable online, it is right for you to conclude that the article was entirely sourced from press-releases; there were independent sources from The Daily Cartoonist (TDC), e-Global Travel News and Lake ForesterRevision 538626051, with some reliable primary sources cited along them, so if you find any press-release in there which is giving an undue weight or not supported by any of the independent sources, then edit the article to correct those instead of making presumptive generalisation. And kindly note WP:NOTTEMPORARY. Thank you. —JOHNMOORofMOORLAND (talk) 14:18, 27 January 2015 (UTC)
I reviewed your contribs before writing my note above. In my view, if you continue editing as you have been, you will likely end up losing your editing privileges. Please make your writing less promotional and improve your sourcing. (and please note that I wrote "almost entirely", not "entirely" - this is exactly the kind of carelessness that will get you into trouble). You can listen to me or not - totally your choice! Good luck. Jytdog (talk) 14:24, 27 January 2015 (UTC)

I was really hoping it wouldn't head this way, but the terms of use specifically forbid undisclosed paid editing. This isn't a matter of being suspicious - you were one of the 5 editors hired in July 2014 to edit Nofel Izz, and have continued to do so. Two of those editors went on to disclose that they were being paid, and have since met the requirements outlined in the policy. Your denial puts things in a difficult position. You can be risk an indefinite block for undisclosed paid editing, disclose your relationship to Izz, or you can refrain from editing the article. It's your choice, but at this point you've been given ample opportunity to meet the policy requirements. - Bilby (talk) 03:07, 28 January 2015 (UTC)

I believe I have made myself clear enough that I am not being paid to edit any article or content, including Nofel IzzWikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard#Editor Johnmoor; I have no external relationship with anyone, including Wikipedians. Thank you. —JOHNMOORofMOORLAND (talk) 03:19, 28 January 2015 (UTC)
I am not asking if you are being paid - I know that you were hired through ODesk as one of those five editors. I'm asking how we proceed, but I guess from your responses that my options are limited. - Bilby (talk) 03:25, 28 January 2015 (UTC)
I believe I made myself very clear about oDesk too — Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard/Archive 68#Editor Johnmoor; I am not on oDesk. Thank you. —JOHNMOORofMOORLAND (talk) 03:37, 28 January 2015 (UTC)
Amongst other articles, the ODesk editor who was hired to work on Nofel Izz was also hired to create FullCircle, Cremorne Point Manor and Navarino Icons - all articles created by you at exactly the same time as the ODesk editor was hired. I honestly don't understand your approach - if you simply disclosed your relationship with your client all would be fine, you could continue to receive compensation for editing, (albeit with more eyes on your work) and you would meet the Wikimedia foundation's need for transparency. My only explanation is that you signed an NDA, in which case you should have not have returned to the article.
Given the circumstances, previous concerns raised about overly promotional editing, and that you've certainly been given plenty of opportunity to disclose your relationship with your client, I have to take the Terms of Use seriously. - Bilby (talk) 04:20, 28 January 2015 (UTC)

Request reason:

Other than my current dispute with Ronz — who has been bent on getting me blocked — over the contents of Nofel Izz (see Nofel Izz's History and Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard#Editor Johnmoor), I have not intentionally added any promotional contents or carried out any disruption and I am not doing any paid editing, and therefore, could not have committed "undisclosed paid editing", and before this block, Bilby — who blocked me — has not made any other complaint recently about any of my recent or previous actions or contributions based on its contents, that I have ignored, so kindly unblock me and remove the COI-tag placed at Talk:Nofel Izz, because it has falsely accused me of "declaring a personal or professional connection to the subject", while the evidence — here — shows otherwise. Once again, I do not do paid editing and I am not whoever Bilby claim to know to be a paid editor on oDesk. Thank you. JOHNMOORofMOORLAND (talk) 18:59, 28 January 2015 (UTC)

Decline reason:

Multiple editors have expressed concern that you are editing in a promotional manner. In this context, I'm declining your request to be unblocked. PhilKnight (talk) 20:06, 28 January 2015 (UTC)

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

note - i corrected the connected contributor tag to remove "declared=yes" -- see here. My mistake in deploying the tag. Jytdog (talk) 19:13, 28 January 2015 (UTC)

Contests

User:Dr. Blofeld has created Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/Contests. The idea is to run a series of contests/editathons focusing on each region of Africa. He has spoken to Wikimedia about it and $1000-1500 is possible for prize money. As someone who has previously expressed interest in African topics, would you be interested in contributing to one or assisting draw up core article/missing article lists? He says he's thinking of North Africa for an inaugural one in October. If interested please sign up in the participants section of the Contest page, thanks.♦ --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 01:27, 21 July 2016 (UTC)

Invite to the African Destubathon

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most geography, wildlife and women articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing, whether it's a river in Malawi, a Nigerian footballer, or a South African civil rights activist, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. For those of you who signed up to the North African contest, that will hopefully be held in the new year. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:11, 6 October 2016 (UTC)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Service Seeking, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. DGG ( talk ) 07:44, 5 June 2018 (UTC)

June 2018

Hello, Johnmoor. Thank you for helping to build Wikipedia-- the world's largest free content encyclopedia. I'm sorry, but  Service Seeking has been deleted as meeting WP:CSD#G11. "This applies to pages that are exclusively promotional and would need to be fundamentally rewritten to conform with Wikipedia:NOTFORPROMOTION." These must be rewritten from scratch from "reliable, third party sources unconnected to the subject." See WP:RS.

Wikipedia:Identifying blatant advertising#Typical signs of blatant advertising contains information about content to avoid. For more information on content that may be perceived as promotional, click User:Dlohcierekim/promo. These are just rough guides. Pages can avoid all those pitfalls and still be glaringly obvious ad copy. Sometimes pages meeting WP:CSD#G11 give the appearance of an editor violating Wikipedia:Conflict of interest or WP:PAID. Please read and heed them if they apply to you. Please read Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations.

Wikipedia is an encyclopedia-- subjects must meet notability guidelines with reliable sources that are unconnected with the subject and providing verifiable information. That generally means someone unconnected with the subject needs to have written a great deal about the subject. Please see Wikipedia:Citing sources . Template:cite has templates you can use in citing your sources. Place the template {{references}} at the bottom of the page, and references cited in the text will appear there.

If you want to try again, please use the Article Wizard or articles for creation to guide you through the creation process. The new user tutorial can help you avoid future problems.

You may find this tool useful: Google custom search Don't feel discouraged. My first attempts at creating articles were deleted too.

There is more information at Wikipedia:Community portal. There is help available at THE TEAHOUSE. Cheers, and happy editing. -- Dlohcierekim (talk) 13:52, 5 June 2018 (UTC)
