Speedy deletion of Kill It Kid

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Kill It Kid requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Thingg 15:23, 30 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Kill It Kid, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. --Orange Mike | Talk 21:39, 28 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself. Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion, and make your case on the page's talk page. Thank you. - Happysailor (Talk) 22:41, 28 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Kill_It_Kid.jpg

[edit]
File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Kill_It_Kid.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 22:14, 28 October 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. feydey (talk) 22:14, 28 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Concerning your upload of the image File:Kill It Kid 2.jpg, please note that Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted images obtained from other sources, without the permission of the author(s). This image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.clashmusic.com/feature/track-of-the-day-304-kill-it-kid. As a copyright violation, File:Kill It Kid 2.jpg falls under the speedy deletion criteria and has been deleted.

If you believe that the image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under a free license then you should do one of the following:
  • If you have permission from the author, leave me a message explaining the details and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
  • If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the <pick a free licence> or released into the public domain leave me a message at my talk page with a link to where I can find that note.
  • If you hold the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on [[Talk:File:Kill It Kid 2.jpg]].
  • Or alternately drop me a note about this file if I have misunderstood something.

A tag has been placed on International Students House, London, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

In the furture please do not remove speedy deletion notices from articles you have created. Also, the consistent use of edit summaries is a good idea as it helps prevent misunderstandings. On the other hand, I do not think the judgement that this was a "vandalism only account" was at all accurate. Beeblebrox (talk) 02:21, 21 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article International Students House, London has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non notable students house, promotional tone.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Fiftytwo thirty (talk) 21:40, 23 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This isnt just a house it is a charity with 70,000 members (most of the international students in london). its is in exactly the same as the International House of New York or Berkley.

I agree with you that the subject is notable enough per the other articles of its kind but we could need more secondary references. E.g. I've added this Times article where ISH is mentioned but if there is any more media coverage, not only primary statements from ISH, please feel free to add that to the references. De728631 (talk) 14:04, 24 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I am not bringing this to AfD, but you should try to find third party reliable sources. Primary sources are generally not considered verification for notability. --Fiftytwo thirty (talk) 15:12, 24 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:AsifRazaq.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted content borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Nona Creative article

[edit]

Hello, I’ve just read this article. Thanks for writing it but I'm a bit concerned that this company might not be notable enough to qualify for a Wikipedia article. That link goes to a guide, but basically any coverage of a company on here is supposed to be based on being covered in reliable sources, like newspapers and websites.

Are there any extra citations you can add about this company? I'm concerned since I think that the article might get deleted otherwise. If so just edit the article and add citations using the cite tool. If you've got any questions just reply below this and I'll try to get back to you. All the best. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Your draft article, Draft:Andrea Böhmert

Hello, Johnstonphil. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Andrea Böhmert".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Legacypac (talk) 01:05, 31 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Johnstonphil,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether List of former employees of McKinsey & Company should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of former employees of McKinsey & Company .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Thanks,

Dom from Paris (talk) 15:23, 25 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
