January 2015[edit]

Information icon Hi there! Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

I noticed your recent edit to Brittany Snow does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. Thanks! IPadPerson (talk) 20:10, 28 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, didn't know that. Is it ok now?

Request reason:

I have been trying to update the page for Brittany Snow all day today, with much resistance and aggression from u/IPadPerson. Brittany Snow is a client of mine and when I was met with such resistance to merely updating the image, IPadPerson resorted to undoing my edits and refusing explanation. First, IPadPerson claimed that if I proved that I was her representative agent that this would be OK to post, I offered to do this and never heard back. The images that I was posting are owned by my company and were taken in a photo shoot by a friend of hers. She has since posted a few of them from the shoot to her social media, leading IPadPerson to claim that I was stealing these images from the internet (from a fan, even though that fan had actually taken the images from her) and calling me a liar. 1) I am not 2) I was uploading high resolution copies of the images, how would I have grabbed a lo-res image and turned it into hi-res? 3) we own these images outright, do I need to have Brittany Snow call wikipedia herself to verify these things? I don't understand. After a few hours, I resorted to deleting the image that is currently posted of her from 2009. Not only is that image unflattering, it is unrepresentative of what she currently looks like. She is extremely unhappy with it and has asked that we get it changed immediately. We would rather her go with no image at all than have that grossly misrepresentative picture be posted any longer.

Decline reason:

There are two issues here. Firstly, there is a significant difference between you saying that you own the images outright, and you saying the images have been released under a free license. Unless you have released the images under a free license, they can't be used here. Secondly, you shouldn't be reverting repeatedly in an attempt to get your way. In this context, I'm declining your request to be unblocked. PhilKnight (talk) 01:11, 29 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
