Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Brocket 99 has been reverted.
Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. I removed the following link(s): http://brocket99news.wordpress.com/.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Brocket 99 do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used as a platform for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia.

Brocket 99

[edit]

Hi Kang, From what I can tell, there seem to be a couple problems with the link you want to add. If you read some of the advice that the Bot posted above you'll get an idea of what kind of links are OK for Wikipedia.

One problem is that wordpress is a blog site. A second is that wikipedia is not a collection of links. A third is that it looks like self-promotion to me. I'm guessing you're the Kang from the site. Self-promotion is heavily discouraged here. Click here for some info on self-promotion via links.

I do not think the link should be added to a wikipedia article, but maybe a good idea would be to post your concerns on the talk page before re-adding the link, to get a third party's opnion. That is what I would suggest. Edit warring will most likely just cause an admin to block you. Cheers, Frehley72 (talk) 18:09, 12 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Since you just undid my edit without any sort of discussion as I suggested, I'll just let the Bot continue to undo your edits. Not good wikipedia etiquette my friend! Frehley72 (talk) 19:04, 12 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • The general rule of thumb is that no link to a wordpress.com site should be added to an article, because they are blogs, and most blogs do not meet the external link guidelines. If you think this site is an exception, please explain why at Talk:Brocket 99 and wait for other editors to agree and, if consensus exists, to add the link. Looking at the site, though, it doesn't appear to be an official blog, and it doesn't appear to be a reliable source of additional information on the subject—so it should stay out of the article for failing to meet WP:EL. —C.Fred (talk) 17:34, 13 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not attack other editors, as you did at Brocket 99. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. The restriction against personal attacks includes edit summaries as well as talk pages. Thank you. —C.Fred (talk) 17:36, 13 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Discuss the situation; do not repeatedly revert

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Brocket 99. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. If the edit warring continues, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. —C.Fred (talk) 18:00, 13 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
