Need help reverting

Hey, I noticed you have rollbacking rights and I was wondering if you could help me revert some messy edits made by an IP user that are challenging for me to fix on the 2019–20 Columbus Blue Jackets season page. There are 5 edits that were made and I don't want to get blocked for reverting more than 3 times. If another user has fixed it, you can ignore this. Thanks. Yowashi (talk)

No need to worry about. I managed to fix it manually. Yowashi (talk) 04:54, 26 November 2019 (UTC)

Algarve and Cyprus tournament results

Hi Kante4,

I noticed your addition to the results section of the Algarve and Cyprus tournaments, complete with the link to the upcoming 2020 edition for each tournament. I'm concerned that posting an empty row in the results section will detract from the appearance of the article. I assume that the primary reason for the addition is to include a logical place to place the link for the upcoming tournament, and, to be honest, I don't see many examples in other tournament articles to highlight the link.

The world cup article places the links to every tournament past and future in the infobox, which I think wouldn't be ideal for either Algarve or Cyprus due to the larger number of tournament editions. Is there another way to make the link more available without posting results before they can be filled? Dkreisst (talk) 04:56, 30 December 2019 (UTC)

2019–20 Real Madrid CF season

There is currently six edits made by IPs but you have not asked them for a source as you usually do with me. Can I know why?--Sakiv (talk) 21:23, 6 January 2020 (UTC)

@Sakiv: Only saw the last edit and just saw all the other ones before. With the transfers it's always tricky, as you can see i rarely edit/change the money spent/received as it is mostly not announced. Normally we should just say "Undisclosed" unless some club says what exactly they have paid. Last year or before i was changing it back to what it was before but there were so many people changing it back and forth, adding other fees, so i got tired of it and let it be their "war field" and how often do you think an IP would respond, happened rarely if not for editors doing only IP edits all the time. So not sure, should we remove them all (as they're unsourced as you said) or leave it? And like i said, you were adding a transfer/return and it was your responsibility to source it (as you did afterwards on the talk page which was fine, but i think we should be over it as it was not a big deal (at least for me)). If we let every editor search there sources for themselves it would be a mess (like the transfers sadly but reverting and another IP adds it and over and over as i experienced it). So, see my question above to you, remove them all or what to do to make it correct? Kante4 (talk) 16:00, 7 January 2020 (UTC)
Another thing. As you are an experienced editor i may have come to your talk page first before reverting. So, i apologize again for that. Kante4 (talk) 17:26, 7 January 2020 (UTC)

debating about 2020 Turkish Women's Cup squads

Hey mate,

So I'm working now on 2020 Turkish Women's Cup squads and I came across a dilemma and was wondering what you think. My wonder is if I should add Venezuela's squad. On one hand they announced a squad, but on the other hand they withdrew from the tournament. If I do add them, should I include them in the player representation section?

Cheers and stay well, --SuperJew (talk) 10:41, 18 March 2020 (UTC)

Stats source

I use NHL.com and CapFriendly for most of my statistics. Usually very reliable, but I will check with alternative sources if one does not line up with the other, such as Hockey Reference.

This source is from ESPN.com. It says that the NHLPA voted "yes" on approving the 24-team playoff format. Under this format, seven teams (Anaheim, Buffalo, Detroit, Los Angeles, New Jersey, Ottawa, and San Jose) seasons' would effectively be over. The article does say that approval from NHL must go through first. (https://www.espn.com/nhl/story/_/id/29211505/nhlpa-board-approves-league-plan-24-team-playoffs-coronavirus-return)

"1. FC Union Berlin" or "Union Berlin"

Hello

I saw you reverted my edit on 2020–21 Bundesliga. I think we can both agree that the more correct name is "1. FC Union Berlin". On German Wikipedia, you will never find anyone who writes only "Union Berlin". However, this is English Wikipedia, and "Union Berlin" is probably the more common name in the English speaking world.

I think this is a very interesting subject, so I will give you my personal view on this:

1. FC Union has its roots in East German football. And in East German football, these prefixes (BSG, SC and FC, etc.) will tell you a lot about the club . That is why I think it is important to write 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig, BSG Chemie Leipzig etc. (In the case of 1. FC Lokomotive Lepzig, I strongly suggest that "1. FC" is used, to separate the club from SC Lokomotive Leipzig). But I understand that these prefixes are not that interesting outside that context, or if you are not familiar with how German football is organized (I know you are familiar with this).

I regularly see how authors either fail to undestand, or deliberately simplifies, the history of some clubs, such as 1. FC Union Berlin and 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig. It is often told that the "fotball club" changed name from this to that, like the "football club" was one and same entity (a pure football club) all the time, when the "football club" was in fact a football department of a multi-sports club (BSG and later SC), and then following a merger, a football department of another sports club (TSC or SC), and only later, as part of a major national re-organization of football, separated from its sports club and re-organized into a pure football club (FC).

So, I think that by not using the prefixes, a lot of history is pushed aside and things are uncesessarily oversimplified.

What is your view on this?

I just want to make it clear that I realize that the correct thing to do here is to stick with the more common name as per WP:COMMONNAME.

Kindest regards. /EriFr (talk) 19:31, 8 July 2020 (UTC)

I started discussion here /EriFr (talk) 19:58, 8 July 2020 (UTC).
Thanks for answering! Yeah. I will not argue against the common name. I guess it is mostly in the more formal context that the full name is spelled out. I see that even an institution like Kicker uses "Union Berlin" somtimes. Kindest regards. /EriFr (talk) 22:41, 8 July 2020 (UTC)

Odriozola

Hi, that's definitely not a bad source, but in my opinion doesn't prove he is credited with winning La Liga, only discusses the situation. Pretty bizarre for him to be involved in Bayern's title party having barely played for them, then rock back up to Madrid and get a medal. It's certainly possible, particularly if he has gone back to Spain - I haven't got auto translate on the computer I'm at, but my German is OK for football terms, I think Kicker was saying the loan was extended til 31 August? So that indicates to me that he'll still be in Germany when they lift the trophy and might be somewhat forgotten at the Real Madrid side. If he gets a medal, cool, but I would like to see some evidence of that. Feel free to bring it up at FOOTY, others may feel the 4 appearances, and the other circumstances as discussed in the ref, is proof enough. Bis bald, Crowsus (talk) 10:08, 19 July 2020 (UTC)

Rodrygo goes

How do only league goals count??? For any other player on Wikipedia they involve all time goals for the club in official competitions! That’s false and you are giving misleading information. Second transfermarkt is very reliable but if you want then go check the Real Madrid website. I have watched and has scored 7 goals with Real Madrid in champions league, la liga, copa del rey. You can also check TheScore, or ESPN or any other reliable source Maxirv11 (talk) 18:28, 19 July 2020 (UTC)

about Toni Kroos Reverted

Hello my friend ✋🌻 I noticed that in the English Wikipedia, no tournament is added if the player is out of 18 players from the match, in this case it is considered a mistake because there are 30 players in each team list and has a contract and a participant with the list, so the tournament must be added even if it is outside the list of 18 players from the match.
